It's interesting how the original quintology was gonna be structured, getting more and more close to the consumers of the products of oddworld. So I'm curious to know what they are gonna do with the new quintology following abe! And I think eventually Squeek is probably gonna be part of the cast due to how passionate OWI is for the character.
See, I like to imagine Squeek could have a different reason for being in his current situation. Now we've seen what appears to be Gluckon generals in older Oddworld games. I'd assume that the Sligs do not make up the entirety of the Magog Army; perhaps some of the Consumer Class are also military personnel, too. Squeek was likely an army grunt of sorts who saw action (perhaps in a foreign theater of operations, like for example, Fangustan) and was literally blown to pieces. Somehow, part of him was still alive, so the Vykkers took him, salvaged what they could of his body (while taking whatever was left of him that they could scrape off the walls and ceiling), and placed him in a new mechanical chassis and sent him back to the front lines. He proved even more successful in this new body, even if it caused him a little discomfort, but by the time he was discharged and sent home, like other war veterans, he was discarded and forgotten, left to live on the streets of some backwater port in Eastern Mudos, that is, until Abe, Alf, and Toby find him...
It would certainly be quite interesting to see how exactly Oddworld Inhabitants would implement ideas such as these into the new Quintology. The idea of him being a soldier would be really fascinating.
@@pupbenny I'd also imagine his design would be slightly changed from this alleged concept art we see here. Maybe he does have some more of his actual body. Perhaps he still has both arms, and most of his upper torso, and the rest of the suit acts as a bulked-up armored body. So it wouldn't be much of a life-support system (but can function as such for certain environments). It is versatile and flexible enough to traverse extremely difficult terrain, and has more health available compared to when Squeek has to exit the chassis. Though maybe the suit also has an ulterior motive. Perhaps it was a prototype for a new combat suit designed for use by elite Slig soldiers when there isn't a Big Bro Slig available to flatten opponents. But the Gluckons didn't see much profit to be gained from it at the time of its creation, so the Vykkers recycled it for putting Squeek back together and sending him back out to fight, to truly demonstrate its value to the Gluckons. And with it, perhaps there are some foot controls towards the bottom that activate other functions, but Squeek can't access them until some point later in the game, when Abe gets a set of normal-sized mechanical legs for Squeek to use when outside the suit

6:06 former admin of the Oddworld Wiki here, if I recall, the Vykkers are mentioned very briefly in Exoddus on a scrolling text prompt. I always appreciate whenever the games have continuity or even have stuff that’s first mentioned previously and later plays a greater role in later installments. I hope that if Squeek ever does come up, it won’t be a thing where the story tries too much to distance from what’s established when introducing new enemies since I feel stuff like the Vykkers and the Magog Cartel are large enough entities that they’ll never truly be gone completely.
Some (highly disorganized) thoughts: 1. Considering that the idea was that Squeek would have his body repossessed because of some debt, I have a hard time imagining that he would be given a complicated and expensive robot body in return. I imagine instead that he would have been left with just the life-support and interface wires attached to the head, and thrown on the streets to beg. Perhaps the life support fluids were very expensive, and the Vykkers figure that if the victim managed to beg another individual to pay for even a single refill they would recoup the cost of the initial operation. It'd be great commentary on the over-priced pharmaceutical industry. There is one possibility I've considered that would explain being given a robot body, and it ties into my second thought. 2. I like your idea that each installment of the Quintology would have introduced a new faction of enemies to comlement the new hero. I propose that rather than a specific species, the new baddies of SO would have been others in a similar position to Squeek. Beings that have had their bodies repossessed, and now work for the Vykkers repossessing others in order to pay for their new bodies. Even once the new body was paid off they would still be tied to industrial society via their need for life-sustaining fluids. 3. Alternatively, I could see the new antagonists being a group of entirely new creatures Frankensteined out of various repossessed parts, or even established species augmented with parts of other creatures, so as to be more effective. I know Munch was the last surviving Gabbit, but imagine a Slig with a Gabbit flipper grafted to its tail, giving it a means of aquatic pursuit. After all, we do know that canonically within the original series Munch's lungs were being sought to replace Lady Margaret's. I think that is enough out of me for the moment, but thank you very much for the video. It has been a lot of fun speculating, even if there's every chance that we never get any concrete answers.

Like you said, maybe made out of different parts and species. It certainly sounds like something the Vykkers would do (like how there's the concept art of Fuzzles with Gabbit parts surgically attached to them) and that could definitely afford some really interesting gameplay I think!

You're right on the IV bags, I was given a nice saline and antibiotics drip when I perforated my appendix. Considering how we saw a Vykker doctor who was shady but not outright malicious in Stranger's Wrath, the idea of a Vykker who turns on the rest of his kind and the various forces that employ them doesn't seem too farfetched. Vykkers-Squeek could wind up working with Abe, Munch or Stranger because his goals line up with theirs, sorta like how the Albino Slig from the cancelled Sligstorm could be considered aligned but not in cahoots with the heroes of the series.
Love your channel! I am deep into the lore because of your videos! Just beat Exodus on Ps1 and New N' Tasty! It's great to have these videos to flesh out the world even further!
Thank you so much! :) Congratulations on beating the games, I hope you enjoyed them! Out of curiosity, what one did you prefer, Exodus or New N' Tasty?
@@pupbenny I really enjoyed Exodus! New N' Tasty is a great recreation with a new engine BUT Exodus, even with the time constraints for development, tells such an awesome story in the universe! They added new Mudokons and quality of life improvements with the same great, dark format. I am very excited to start on Soulstorm and see what their original plans for everything were. It's exciting! I am a huge fan and absolutely love your content!!
After Darth Vader, Squeek reminds me of "Dr. N Gin" from Crash Bandicoot, because that character was a kind of cyborg and it was said that he was almost dead because he had a missile in his skull and the only thing that kept him alive from the decomposition was its robot part. More than anything else I'm curious to know how Squeek's story might intersect with Abe's story ...
YEAH! That's true actually, I remember that guy! He even kind of looks like Squeek LMAO. I specifically remember his boss battle in Crash Bandicoot 3. That's another really apt comparison.
10:47 Palpatine made Darth Vader’s suit very uncomfortable in order to channel his dark-side force power. This is obvious to any diehard Star Wars fans.
Oh man. That would be a cool next Oddworld game. But then Oddworld Inhabitants got shut down. But then they return in 2014 with their new upcoming Oddworld games
Squeek seems like he would be an interesting character, an Industrialist species member who would presumably just be trying to survive on Mudos. Perhaps he works as part of some resistance group in the cities? Not necessarily related to the races fighting to protect their lands, like the native Mudokons. Maybe his journey would involve recovering his body? Getting back his limbs or organs? And having a black markey surgeon Vykker re-implant them, but for a hefty fee, like Stranger and his surgery plans in Stranger's Wrath? As for powers/abilities, I think it would depend on his body, but I get the impression that Squeek could be a bruiser, since his body/mech-suit is metal. He could wade into melee combat, maybe get some ranged upgrades or modifications to his suit? Stuff that improves his abilities to move around, like gripping on walls, extendable hands, maybe an arm drill like a Big Daddy from Bioshock? Oh and a shield he could deploy to protect and use to shield bash/ram enemies back? A bit like those Left 4 Dead charging enemies? There's probably be some sections where Squeek needs to disconnect and move like a worm/grub/slurg through vents to open doors for his suit. Maybe the Ratz could assist and carry him?
There's so many possibilities, I hope one day OWI actually make, or at least implement into the new Quintology, Squeek's Oddysee so we can finally get the answers! :)
Interesting, trully very interesting...I wonder if they Will mixt both concepts of Squeek and Munch Oddesy in the next game of Soulstorm ( after all both they are víctims of the Vykkers) Also interesting theory of the Squeek Vykker like a boss or a friendship link with Abe and Munch like Lulu the Glukkon
I recall seeing in the booklet of abes oddessy that the game series was abe, munch, squeek, nod then brutal ballad with a summary of the premise. Nod's oddessy was suppose to be a slurg like critter climbing the food chain or something like that!
Based on his looks and color im running an idea Squewek may be a Mudokon that has been heavily experimented and tortured until he ended up like he looks here.
Has anyone ever heard of Meech's Odyssey? I remember hearing from a friend that it was another planned game but I can only find the concept art and the Meeches look so cool it would have been so fun to have a full game as a playable Meech
Well I’m convinced the body repossession is accurate, remembering that disturbing image of Queen Margret having Munch sewn to her chest to replace her lungs. Still disturbed by that.
Even if Squeek wouldn't have his game released/published to the public, the same goes for Fangus Klot, I'd be happy if he and Klot were to have some appearance in the New Quintology, perhaps side-characters that are somewhat important to the story and have backstories never fully explained unless there's a DLC surrounding them in some way, there are so many opportunities that can happen! Maybe even canonical interactions between Abe and other characters like Stranger, perhaps? Some dynamics between Klot and Stranger? How Squeek met Klot or Toby? If any of those happen, I'd be giddy and squealing like a little girl with excitement. Okay, that last part seems unnecessary, the whole "giddy and squealing" thing, but that's just my way of explaining my excitement, that's all...
Yeah I know what you mean lol. It would be really amazing to experience these kinds of moments happen. Even the fact that Stranger was meant to be in Soulstorm is such a wild thought. Hopefully one day these kinds of things will actually start happening....
I think it would be fascinating if the third game, which would seem to focus on saving muds around the world, would see Abe crossing paths with Munch and Squeek in different parts of the world, which could offer up some much needed changes of pace to shake things up beyond Soulstorm's gameplay
You know, before this I always just assumed Squeek was some animal the Vykkers had tested on and thrown out, but I never really put two and two together that if this is an organ repo thing, that means that yeah, you're right. He was a functioning member of society who fell into debt. Honestly, it'd be a really interesting perspective to play as someone already integrated into Oddworld's society rather than naturalist outsiders like Abe and Munch. I know technically Abe was an "employee" of Rupture Farms, but like the opening says, he was really a slave and glorified cattle for the company. I really hope Squeek's Oddysee comes to fruition eventually.
Squeek being what he is, I assume the symbiosis would be something like with humans and dogs. Since he's so weak, he would need someone or something to protect him. He would be the brains, and the symbiot would be the brawn.
I think Squeek is living with a disease a kin to ALS and needs that armour just to function. But the thing about Squeek is (he/she) has more power than the glukkons! The glukkons to me are greedy investors, Squeek is like the ruler of the entire odd world. I also think the next the next game has to be a banger for them to keep going. So, make it like it's your last because it may very well be. Gotta be in 3D. Maybe stranger has a bounty on Abe and Abe is trying to save Squeek because everyone wants to kill the leader as oddworld is in complete chaos at the moment. But if Stranger gets to Abe then Abe can't save Squeek and wait...Munch to the rescue!
hey pup, what do you think about scorn. when i see this game it gives me such oddworld vibes although it has nothung to do with it. the athmosphere of that game makes me feel like playing oddysee for the first time again as a kid, i mean oddworld was kinda a horror game with a comedic touch. but man imagine a grown up effed up scorn version of oddworld and its creatures. i cant get it out of my head. its just so fitting. ps: 3:00 funny, by adding that color you made squeek look like a pokemon who carries its own pokeball, the concept looks really good in color

IV is used to get fluids you need in you immediately. blood, hydration, iron, if fluid and you need it go, IV.
Ahh yeah that makes sense, thank you for the insight! :) They seem like very useful bits of equipment, I think I even had one for hydration a few years ago, but I wasn't paying much attention at the time so I might be mistaken. 9:37 i always thought that this is a hook, so the vykkers can transport him/them to attach him to the robotic suit. if you look carefully you can see the hooks in vykkers lab
When I look upon squeek, I noticed the two tenticle like arms coming from each side of the head, joined together by the black band, I thought it was his hair, but now I think, what if that is his arms, bounded together to minimize his resistance to escape
You never fail to deliver, comrade! The whole premise on reposessing the organs reminded me of Repo! The Genetic opera, which also focuses on criticizing the system based on endless debts and it can't make me even more happy (that's a great piece of media, trust me). As for the concept, I was always thinking that it was one of the beta concepts for Munch, since there were ideas of Munch controlling the big robots and other tech (which he does, but it seems they planned him to actually pilot these), and, well, the creature looks like a rabbit with it's long ears, and Much's species is called gabbits, and it made me think that the old concept was discarded, but the name was left for the sake of keeping "the gabbiar" pun, lol. But your theories made me think that, maybe, just maybe, this concept might actually depict Squeek. However... Lorne mentioning symbiosis makes me think in a completely other route now, like... We might have some really f-d up biopunk story where we have to keep our body complete with the help of other creatures, but again, can't help myself but also brainstorming while looking at this concept as it's all we have for now. I just really hope OWI will make it through with Munch the way they planned initially so we could actually see Squeek too! And thank you for your video!
Thank you very much! :) That's a really good point! You might be right, it would actually make a lot of sense for it to be an early Munch design. I love the rabbit-gabbit connection, I never thought about that before! I really hope OWI make it eventually too. Until then, all we can do is theorise!
I imagine Squeek as some kind of celebrity or a host for a show. Someone who works with the vykkers to promote there products, maybe he got some work done to make himself more attractive to the consumers. Then he screws up or is blaimed for poor sails so the vykkers takes back the improvements. I thought since they bother to put him in a robotsuit they probably put him to work as garbage disposal or something,

Thanks, PB! I would posit that I hope Squeek isn't anything that looks like Sekto from Stranger's Wrath. The "leaked" concept art for Squeek is, to me (and only me), disappointing.
I'd love to see Squeek's Oddysee but I really disliked Soul Storm. I can't bring myself to play it anymore, even with QoL mods to make it more like New 'n' Tasty I just found the levels barren and uninspiring.
I think you should give it a second chance. The enhanced version looks better and has improved gameplay mechanics such as swinging on the monkey bars. I find it to have Abe's oddysee vibes in some of the levels closer to the end of the game (sanctum for sure).
@@beautepley8352 mine was the Enhanced Edition sadly and I particularly hate the monkey bars and double jump. The platforming has none of the finesse of originals. If I've got to get to the end of the game to experience that, someone messed up big time.

I got it in both my let's play videos for soulstorm and new n' tasty. The most important thing is to just enjoy it! (And if you really want to get the good endings you can always go back in those games and replay parts to get it.) Thank you again! :)
Skweak and Fangus pretty much dissolved into munch and stranger respectively in my mind. The quintology must continue!
This is obvious to any diehard Star Wars fans.
i hope a squeek oddysee would arrive one day, because Sherry Mckenna love Squeek so it make sense
Yeah it would be great!
You truly are the biggest, and best, oddworld fan
Ha thank you! :)
Great colouring on the pic and great video. Wow epic animation
Thank you very much Bozz! :)
Yeah that's a really good point! It would be quite easy for them to intertwine both of their stories I think.
the reposesing of bodily organs featured heavily as a setting element of Repo the Genetic Opera. just an interesting tidbit.
Ahh, I haven't heard of this before, I'll check this out, thank you. :)
Now that you mention it i kinda thought squeek was a Rat for a while XD
I'm glad I'm not the only one! XD
That darth vader part just killed me xD
I wanna squish squeek, he's so cute
I love your SW parody animation.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! xD
THE VIDEO I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YEAHHHH
Sorry it took so long btw. XD Surprisingly more info on Squeek than I thought there was.
the coloration you did looks really good, I actually thought it was official before you said it wasn't
We need the quintology to be completed! PLEASE!
@@pupbenny Oh, heck yes! (Keep calm, Moon, keep calm...)
When I read about the quintology in the Abe's Exoddus manual back in 1998, I knew it would never happen. And I'm still convinced it won't.
Lorne Lanning is the MVP of bad decisions. Basically killed the franchise with the Xbox deal, Then goes on to have Soulstorm FREE on PS5 which he stated wasn't good for the company.
Please Oddworld Inhabitants! Squeek has waited far too long. Let us see his story. Thank you for this video.
IV intra venues (said "venus"). i have experience with them, 3 pints of blood, 2 litres of fluids, an iron infusion, and a LOT of steds to keep me alive. so to say those bags are familiar is an understatement XD
BUT!
I also hope you're doing better now, I'm sorry to hear you've had so much experience with them!
Hope ur ok bro.
@@Ezio999Auditore situation normal need a new kidney, leg, and a break.
All in all takes a lot to kill me, but am still kicking and kicking strong in spite of everything going up down and around. But make sure you're in good nick before worrying about others. Can't help someone else if you can't help yourself.

i always thought that this is a hook, so the vykkers can transport him/them to attach him to the robotic suit. if you look carefully you can see the hooks in vykkers lab
He could hijack a big bro slig's legs
Yeah it'd probably be better to get around than that clunky suit. XD
Yesss
Citizen siege could work like quake 4
It'd certainly be interesting to see how it'd work.
When I look upon squeek, I noticed the two tenticle like arms coming from each side of the head, joined together by the black band,
I thought it was his hair, but now I think, what if that is his arms, bounded together to minimize his resistance to escape
Vaders suit is not just uncomfortable. It's extremely painful to the point it takes constant thought and the force to exist.
10:03 Oooh, a Same one of star wars 3 Revenge of The sith
I thought since they bother to put him in a robotsuit they probably put him to work as garbage disposal or something,
I just noticed there are background scenes from smile factory
Where is Toby is the best part of the skit.
I can already smell the gmvs of " I am machine"
My theory is that Squeek is an Oddworld fan who sold his body to finance the creation of Squeek's Oddysee.
i wish we got the old quintology.. pupbenny would u rather have the old quintology revived or continue the abe one?
As a looooong-term oddworld fan, I think I'll always have a fascination with the original quintology and other games that have sort of become mythicised. I think that's probably why I seem to enjoy making these kinds of videos about them. So, I definitely would've liked to have seen the old one that's been talked about for so long.
Come on lorne make it happen. :)
I hope he does! :)
Glowing eyes : usually bad
Non glowing eyes : usually good
Oddworld squeek exoddus is development in the past?
At this point I don't really care what owi does with oddworld, as long as we get more oddworld stuff
Yeah, that's how I feel. I remember when NOTHING was going on with it for ages, so I'm just happy that they're doing stuff again.
Thanks, PB!
I would posit that I hope Squeek isn't anything that looks like Sekto from Stranger's Wrath. The "leaked" concept art for Squeek is, to me (and only me), disappointing.
Is Toby alright?
I hope not
XD
how many oddworld species were there that may have been created
i want to all of them, including extinct ones
IDK why but feels kinda Like what happens in FNAF.
Their next game should be fun and simple like the classic games
@@beautepley8352 mine was the Enhanced Edition sadly and I particularly hate the monkey bars and double jump. The platforming has none of the finesse of originals. If I've got to get to the end of the game to experience that, someone messed up big time.
@@MatthewBester I guess I don't care about the original. I like it when things evolve in life.
Evolve sure, but there is always the threat of natural selection and extinction.
I'm i the only one who wants a Molluck Oddysee game? I would love to find out more about the origins of the Glukkons and how their civilisation evolved into what it is now.
People think that the fifth oddysee game would be Molluck's oddysee, where he teams up with the rest of the odd characters and goes to nolybab
That seems to be quite an interesting idea a few people (including myself I think) have mentioned. :) It'd be a curious twist.
@@pupbenny it would be kinda interesting to see him stand along abe, now an ally.

I don't understand why companies continue making crap games like Call of Duty over and over instead of masterpieces like this
Good video, but please don’t change your accent while quoting Italian sources, it’s really off putting 😅
if you made an oddworld fan game why not just make oddworld Squeek's Oddysee from what information you got
Many reasons, but a big one is that, even though we've got scraps of information, we don't really know the true story, which is what I think people would want to play Squeek's Oddysee for.
