I learned something today. Never thought of auditioning that way. Thank you.
yep. same here.
Thank you for saying, Jake!
Ahoi!
I just stumbled across your channel and zapped through your videos - I like your detailed and calm way of explaining things. Also the fact that you break it down to a very easy understandable, digestible way.
I love Toontrack Products, I started using them a few months ago and I'm happy that there are people like you who share a lot of knowledge, tips and tricks. Thank you for that!
It's astonishing how easy it seems for you to make something sound good.
I wish you all the best for 2023, keep rocking! 🤘🙂
What a fantastic message, Luke! Thank you and Happy New Year!
This is a great idea Shawn. I’ve got all 3 (EZD3, EZB, & EZK) but never thought of linking them and looping. Genius! Thanks.
You got it!
Toontrack should pay you for "Toontrack Speed Dating" ! 👍🏼 Brilliant!!!
Thank you for saying, Mark!
This is an awesome video. I have the Singer-Songwriter packs for EZD, EZB, and EZK. They are supposed to all be counterparts too, but none of the drum grooves are the same as those in bass and keys.
Thank you! Are there any matching song names by chance? I don't own the packs myself to be able to tell.
You are the Nigel Tufnel of Toontracks content! Well, his amps…haha. Your videos are always 10 out of 10 and absolutely packed with immediately useful steps, workflows, and tips. But the last month or so? “These go to 11.” Haha.
Excellent stuff here, Shawn!
D Minor is the sadest key!!
I’ll save us both the embarrassment of calling out the name of that track.
@@PlectrumShorts HA! Classic
Another great one Shawn. I love watching and learning from your work flow. Thanks as always.
You are the best, Rocky!
You joined as a member as well, Rocky?!?! Thank you so much.
Excellent vid - as always. Thanks Shawn
Thank you for saying, Ean!
Reaper has Kenny Gioia. Toontrack is making a HUGE mistake by allowing you to run free, off of the Toontrack payroll. What if you decide to focus on other, non toontrack topics? You should be PAID by Toontrack full time. Their mistake.
What a great rant! Thank you, makes my day!!
Thanks Shootie! Great stuff.
Thank you, JoJo!
Asolutely amazing! I learn something new with your videos everyday. Thanks thanks thanks guy!!!!! ROCK ON!!!
You got it, Oscar!
Thank you very much. I like your practical work. Not too much theory - just do it. Awesome!
Thank you for saying, Martin!
Great content!
Thank you!
Fantastic. Awesome to watch. Where to drag each is the question.
Colleen, you've been going through a lot of my videos! Good for you. You'll have to ask a more specific question, because where I'm dragging the files in the video seems pretty straight forward to me. Let me know.
@@ShootieSchool Hi. For example: EZBass do u drag the groove straight into your daw or into EZB? Is it the same for EZKeys and EZD3 when you are choosing?
@@colleenvarlow8764 Both ways are acceptable. I usually prefer using the Song Track in the Toontrack product and not my DAW.
@@ShootieSchool Thanks Shawn.
@@colleenvarlow8764 You got it!
Howdy Shootie, its new bass day around here, hope all is well with you bro
Don't tease, just tell what you got!!!
@@ShootieSchool lol oh its nothing special, i have a squier 70's jazz bass i love so much that i ordered a squier contemporary jazz bass with active pickups, so far very pleased with it as well. for the money they punch wayyyy above their weight
@@BillyBlaze7 Fantastic. Happy New Year, Blaze!
@@ShootieSchool same to u bruv, this is the year for a million subs to shootie school
Awesome stuff. In EZKeys, make sure the "Preview in original tempo" checkbox is UNCHECKED. Otherwise it won't sync up properly. Also (and I think everyone knows this, but just in case) make sure the "Follow Host" options are checked in EZK and EZD. Otherwise the BPM won't be correct.
Certainly things to double check if your having issues. Thanks, Neil!
How did you open many EZ instances in Ableton simultaneously? I can only open one instance at the same time (either EZbass or EZkeys) Cubase, by the way, doesn't have these problems.
Look for it in the Preferences. It's not a "pin" button like most DAWs, it's a universal option somewhere in the prefs.
Hey Shawn, I got how you did each of the midi tracks and dragged them down into each program, but still mystified, how you got your daw to play it. I watched, but no understand bro. Do you have to record it into your daw to show it there. I saw just blank sections in your daw, even though it was playing the entire section of the song.
I'm using the Song Track in the Toontrack products. If that doesn't answer your question... Ask me a more particular question and tell at what time it happens in the video for a better reference. Thanks!
With regards to the "collaboration packs" is it worth buying them in their assigned trios? I know this is a very subjective question. Most of my midi packs were bought randomly. And frequently with excellent results. But now I'm wondering whether the investment in the additional packs is a great idea. Any thoughts?
For someone who's not good at editing melody, i think the matching bass and keys packs are very valuable. Otherwise I think it's totally subjective whether these are are valuable or not.
@@ShootieSchool Thanks for your thoughts. I'll likely try a couple out a see where it goes.
Yeah very nice workflow. i wonder about when 100K people buy those packs and wanna do the 62bpm song out of 4 intros/verses etc... how many times will we hear the same song? :D
lol!
I tried this with the Reggaepacks (Drums, Bass and Keys) and there are no songs to match up, there are just beats, fills and intro fills in teh drums so it dont work with all your packs.
The Drums pack of Reggae does not claim to work like that. There should be some matching songs in the EZK/EZB midi packs though. Maybe you have to match the keys or something.
Shawn. More content
We're starving out here
Lot's of stuff on the burner, Spyder. Hang tight ;)
Great stuff! I can confirm the British invasion "cooperative midi packs" work great together. I used the "Time of the Season" song for one of mine. Eve though the midi is 'comparable" to an old 60's song, if you change chords, voicings, and pull and push things around etc. It really becomes yours. ua-cam.com/video/orlz23OmqKQ/v-deo.html
I like your track! Thanks for mentioning it. 2 months ago I did the research for the collaboration midi, and they didn't confirm on their site at that time British Invasion. Thanks, Spokansas!
