The timing on this video couldn’t have been more perfect. Tomorrow is trash day so I was going through my refrigerator to throw away what I’ve wasted. I had almost a gallon of pear cider and a half gallon of apple cider that is too old to drink. I was wondering earlier today if I could turn it into vinegar. I didn’t know if the fact that it had been refrigerated would ruin it from going to vinegar. I was so angry with myself for wasting these perfect ciders. So thank you. I can’t wait to get the finished product.
Oh my grandmother’s heart. Hannah is adorable. After dipping fingers into the syrup and powdered sugar, when she attempted to stir the drizzle it appeared she was intending to bring the spoon to her mouth also. 🥰
Good afternoon my dear friend, 3 very impressive recipes, thank you for that!! You are looking lovely, pregnancy agrees with you! As always, looking forward to your next video, have a blessed week!!
Jessica, just a hint that if you scrunch up the parchment paper first it will sit on your pan much more easily. Thank you for another wonderful video. Especially liked the explanation of hard and not hard cider for me here in Wales in the UK!😂
@@lissyadams6497 Hi.👋 I love the preserving and recipes. I don't pressure can, used to, but have just bought a steam canner and love dehydrating and vacuum sealing and am building my pantry, . have pantry envy on most channels like this!🤣
I never knew you could make caramel dairy free. I will try this. My daughter has a dairy allergy and hasn't grown out of it yet. She's 17 months so I hope she does. Anyways, you should really consider putting out your own cookbook. I bought Doug and Stacy's cookbook and they did a good job with it. Look them up if you don't know them.
I love how you explain and show how to do these recipes, which I would love to try! I have subscribed. By the way, take the opportunity to fill up those lovely empty jars with some good drinking water, and keep in the house for emergencies. I think your babies are blessed to have you as their mamma!
We went to Apple 🍎 farm yesterday and had fresh cider and warm fresh donuts!😊 Been going there since I was a kid to pick apples, have cider and donuts. At home cider keeps 1 week in my experience. NY has MANY Apple 🍎 farms!😊
I'm from Wisconsin and now Florida - never knew the difference between Cider and juice but knew that it wasn't alcoholic and SO GLAD you discussed this. Love learning new things. Do you make caramel corn? Sorry if you did a video before but I don't remember it. Thank you for all the viewing I'm able to soak in - you are a treasure trove of information and peace.
I wish very often that you had a book of all of your teachings so I could look them up as I need them. I have started writing down recipes, canning info, etc. but sometimes I cant find a specific thing and I have to get on the comments to encourage you one more time. 😁
I love hearing your weather updates! It always amazes me how different the weather is across the country. I’m in north Texas and our low today is 66 and our high will be 95. We will have a cold front next week and finally drop into the 70s! Stay safe and healthy! ❤
I'm around the middle of Texas , and very rural area , looking forward to our azure standard organic haul in 2 weeks . Kroger , Heb even aldis doesn't carry the good items they do . God bless you Mrs josette Montgomery County, Texas 🙏
Seeing your children on the videos just fills my old heart! Our two grand babies live over 1k miles away. Little Hannah is cute as a bugs ear! Now I want to make apple cider sauce! What have you and Becky (Acres Homestead) done to this 77 year old lady! Lol
You are one of the only moms on UA-cam who is mindful about her children eating sugar. I appreciate that! There is too much diabetes & obesity in this country. I sure don't see anyone in your family even 20 lbs overweight! You walk with Christ, and that brings me joy! God bless you, Jessica & many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻 ❤️ 📿✨️💓✝️ y.
I look forward to your videos on Sunday before church. It just sets my day off happy! Thank you for the recipes, I will certainly be trying them all! GOD bless
I know that your apple cider wasn’t the same as ours but I never remember the difference between apple cider and apple juice and now I know so thank you. I do live to learn every day x ETA how sweet is miss Hannah! She is doing what everyone watching wanted to do by dipping her fingers in the caramel sauce!! I was also waiting for the spoon to head towards her little mouth quickly when you let her stir it herself 😂 such an adorable cheeky monkey! It’s definitely my favourite age that she’s at right now, everything is all so new and fun and they’re brains are like little sponges taking it all in ❤
I found out about this two years ago. If you turn your square pan upside down put the parchment paper on top of the bottom and crease the sides, cut the corners, turn the pan back over the parchment paper will fit right in to the pan. God bless.
Hi Jessica!!!! I must say that you are just glowing!!! Beautiful lady with a beautiful soul. Happy Home Church Day ❤ Your Michigan Fan and Friend Araminta 😊😊🎉🎉
Good morning. Wonderful ideas and recipes today, Jessica! Thank you for sharing them with us. Loved little Hannah helping you, lol. The kids are growing like weeds. You will have many helpers when the baby arrives.
I'm allergic to apple cider, but not the rest of my family. One day, I've got to watch with a notebook, for all these delicious treats. 💖💖 Thanks for sharing.👍🏽
When your children said the apple cake was too sweet...I knew that you and your husband has been very diligent in ensuring your children receive enough nutrients.
I'm Irish, I'll admit that I did a double take when I saw the amount of Cider that you had in the thumbnail, lol. "She looks so demure, but, d**m that's a lot of alcohol...", ran through my head before I remembered "...oh, right, Americans have weird names for stuff." :D
The name isn't "weird". Cider is just a word to differentiate a whole fruit product as opposed to juice that is made using fruit and water and then filtered. Different countries, different cultures, different uses of a word. Nothing "weird" about it.
In swedish we have a separate word for the raw pressed juice, the most common is of course apple but the word can be used for all raw pressed juice (not oranges though that´s always "juice"). So we have juice, as in orange juice, and cider as in alcoholic cider, and then "must" as in the raw pressed juice. Never thought about the word itself before your video, because it doesnt really translate. Where I live (Aland islands, swedish speaking part of Finland) this kind of beverage is very common since there are a lot of apple orchards here. Every year we bring our own apples to a small business that presses the apple, pasteurizes and bottles it in glass bottles, so that we can keep it in a cold space the whole year. So it not raw anymore but we dont have the freezer-space to keep 100 liters of juice frozen, so its a great compromise. Raw apple juice is so delicious! Love your videos! :)
Such yummy recipes! I'll make that yummy coffee cake the next time I get apple cider! Your videos are always full of great information. Thanks for sharing! I adore your videos.... Blessings...
Fun video! I'm the only cider drinker in the family..i have to freeze it in small portions. A gallon lasts well over a year. The caramel projects sounds like fun. Thank you for the Autumnal inspiration.
Years ago, my husband and I operated a custom cider press, where people brought their apples to us to process into cider. We would freeze as much as possible at the end of the season. Ours was never pasteurized.
Blessed Sunday, Jessica! Such a nice video focusing on cider! And I really appreciate you linking the other Apple videos! You look wonderful and healthy, Thank God! Have a wonderful week!
I always wondered about apple cider! Thanks for clearing this up! In Europe, ‚apple cider‘ is called ‚cloudy apple juice’ whereas apple juice is ‚clear apple juice‘.
Good lovely morning 💙 excellent video. I love fresh apple cider, its been years! I do steam juice tons of apples in my steam juicer and water bath (so pasteurized)...
The jugs I would fill with water. For extra security if the water stops working. And if you didn’t have to use it before the planting season, you can just use it to water the plant. Hope it makes sense. My English is not that good. Hey from Denmark 🇩🇰)
Very interesting video. So much useful information. I would like to try the caramel candies. Loved little Hannah dunking her fingers into the bowel and then helping you stir.
Thank you for explanation, i always learm something new. Jessica you are a gift to us, your teachings are PRICELESS!!! We are excited for the new little one!' ❤
Have you ever tried freeze drying apple cider? I have thoughts of how to use it in powder form. Glazes, marinades, in oatmeal, sprinkle like sugar on baked goods, on roasted root veggies....endless ideas.
The caramels and sauce look amazing. I’m definitely going to try these. Thank you Jessica. ! You look great and I pray for continued health and rest through your pregnancy and onward dear
I buy fresh apple cider and freeze it. Take out what I need, thaw in the refrigerator. Cider is pretty expensive where I live and it's 400 miles round trip so using it to make vinegar is not an option. 😊
I appreciate your clear descriptions in this video! I wondered if the 2nd and 3rd pressings have more (or less) vitamin C than the first pressing (which you mentioned is less sweet). Thanks!
