This truck was totally stock but now, has woken up with the power of the JB4. With this simple bolt on, your truck can go from no show to ALL GO!

How long did your order take?
Jared, After looking at the custom engine tune options for my FE Bronco, I have decided that what I want for an intercooler is a liquid to air set-up. I have spent some time looking at the turbo plumbing and the layout of the engine bay and I envisioned that top mount L2A intercooler would reduce 50% of the turbo pipes reducing turbo lag and making for a cleaner engine compartment. Really think that your interest in such a product would result in one being developed. I sent an email to LP with some pics. When you look at the Whipple A2A intercooler coming in at $950, investing in a L2A intercooler seems reasonable.

Awesome results with just a JB4! Curious did you guys add any ethanol for the higher maps to get more power or still just ran pump 93 for Map 5?
We didn't use any ethanol for MAP 5. Just a can of professional Boostane was used to help up the octane a bit. Let us know if you have any other questions in the meantime. Thanks!

That's odd to me, the 2022 Ford f-150 2.7 dyno's around 318 whp and 375+ wtq on 91 without a tune 🤔

I am trading in my 2018 supercrew raptor on a 2022 bronco wildtrack 4 door next week, I think this video just made me feel a whole lot better about my choice and less disappointes about power drop off I will feel. The Raptor did do a 5.3.sec 0-60 here at 3800 ft above sea level with only pro dry s air filter and air oil seperator on a cool day with good traction.....looks like this tune might make the Bronco faster than my raptor.
Do I bring my Bronco to your shop for this service?

Nice so for the higher maps all you did was add octane booster?
Yes. All we did was add some Boostane to some 93 and it worked great.
I'm curious what the 0-60 time would be with a 2 door v6 bronco with premium fuel, that extra weight would definitely be a little quicker
The 2 doors will indeed be much quicker than the 4 door with the same mods done to it. Even in stock form the 2 doors have shown to be faster with 1/4 mile testing over the 4 doors.
Are these with the IC and AF installed? Nice gains 💪
The testing in this video was done on a 100% stock 4 door first edition with the 2.7L. No other mods on the truck besides the JB4 tuner. Crazy right?

I've had a JB4 on my 2021 F150 2.7 since week 1 and I love it. What fuel mix were you using for these dyno runs? I'm assuming an E30-50 mix? On my F150 the Map 3 is a 93- E30 tune and map 4 is an E30+ tune. I've only gone up to Map 3 and there is a huge difference from Map 2 to Map 3 just like your Bronco dyno shows. I also have 1 step colder plugs from Ford Performance, a Livernois upgraded intercooler, MBRP 3" exhaust and and AFe air snorkel with KN filter. On Map 3 with merging on the highway doing 40 MPH I will burn the tires up with full throttle acceleration. I love the JB4. Had it on my Genesis G70 3.3T and so glad they sell them for the Ford Ecoboost vehicles.
We ran 93 octane on maps 1-3 and then put half a can of Boostane professional in for maps 4 and 5.
@@Lethalcamp Awesome I figured as much. Timing would be pulled like crazy with anything under E30 on Map3 and above. That's what my datalogging showed me first hand. Can't imagine what the numbers would be with colder plugs and a better intercooler... Hope you guys have some more upgrades for the Bronco and see how each one affects performance. For 2021 the 2.7 in the Bronco and F150 are the same. 2020 and prior F150 engine has different thermostat housing among other noticeable differences. Should make a 180 degree thermostat an easy upgrade as well for 2021 2.7s.
When are you going to test the new blow off valve on the Bronco?

Quick question, the JB4 web page for the Bronco shows Map 4 to be the "Valet Low Boost" Mode.......is their website wrong is do you have a custom map set versus what the typical JB4 Tuners run?
We found that the info on the JB4 page was off from what we actually saw using the app and device in person. Map 0 is stock. Map 1-5 were all power Maps.
Does the JB4 tuner remove the speed limiter ?

Throttle response was greatly improved over stock. This thing gets it even just using Map 1. What's great is how easy it is to change Maps with the app. Just click on the map and it switches it in seconds.

Are you using the gas that is said you should for each tune?
At the risk of sounding stupid, are the maps for specific things? I am getting a bronco that I just plan to use as a daily driver and wouldn't want to use a setting that I shouldn't. 😅
Great Question! Each map is truly about how much power/torque you'd like to run in the Bronco. Of course, every map has its fuel recommendations, so you are somewhat limited to map depending on what fuel you choose to run.
I just watched a 2.3 push these numbers with a intake and stock tune. You sure it’s not the 4cyl lol
If it's got a JB4 on it, I'd believe it! The devices make some gains amazing with some good fuel.

This or the Tomahawk? I know the Whipple also does tranny tuning. What do you recommend?
They're both great options. The thing with the Whipple cal is that as you mentioned flashes the trans as well and has optimized shifting strategies in it. It also can make changes to gear ration and tire size changes. It's a full flash.
The JB4 makes great power but doesn't change shifting or have the ability to change for tire size / gear ratios. This isn't a flash but more so a piggy back device.
I guess you just have to decide what's best for you in this situation but both are really great products so you can't go wrong with either of them.

What fuel were you running in each map?
93 Octane on Maps 0-3. On Maps 4-5 We added about a half can of Boostane to give it the desired Octane for those Maps.
Can y’all tune and dyno a 2.3L?
The JB4 works great on the 2.3L as well. Unfortunately we don't have a 2.3L to use for testing. If you search around on some of the Bronco groups you'll see some owners out there with great results. Let us know if you have any other questions.

@@Lethalcamp We’ve all been searching for months. No one has been able to successfully tune and Dyno a 2.3L Bronco. Hence, why I asked if y’all could do it. Maybe I can find someone to bring their 2.3L Bronco in for y’all?
Which is better the JB4 Tuner or Ford Performance Tune?
Hard to say which is "better", as each have their benefits. With the ProCal from Ford Performance, you get a few different things, such as transmission tuning, throttle response improvement, Ability to change tire size,
Ability to change axle ratio, and a couple more depending on engine and trim.
With the JB4, you are given more tuning freedom, as well as more power and torque gains. Of course, their in-app features allow for data logging as well as let you view real time data, such as AFR, IAT, Boost PSI, etc...
Also, if you want the benefits of both, technically you can run BOTH the Ford Performance tune and JB4 at the same time, although we personally haven't. The choice of which is better all depends on personal use and opinion.

Even more simple, just run 30% E85 and 70% 93 Octane without a JB4. I bet that alone picks up nearly 50 HP.

Yeah great until that 2.7 L engine takes a major shit. Bronco engine failure.
Ya, only a handful of 2.7s have failed. Has nothing to do with the power level being pushed
