Is this the same way the whippel Tune is set up. Aren’t these both piggy backing. Dam I miss the old tune s I had on all my raptors not to long ago through the ecu
Were these gains over the stock “normal” mode? Since I have a wildtrak with ‘sport’ mode will my gains be less? I’m assuming fords ‘sport’ mode gives me some improvement in performance (at least it feels like it). Last, what happens if you use this device and sport mode? Thanks
Our testing completed in this video was done in Sport mode. We have tested both modes and base models, the gains produced are the same. Feel free to reach out to us at tuning@vividracing.com for more info!
So let me get this right, it fools the ECU by under-reporting boost/manifold pressure, and then the ECU adjusts the spark and fuel mapping to avoid knock and adjust fuel trim. If you want to call that "tuning", I guess that you can call it that... still, the power gains are impressive.
Yes sir, in reality it is a pretty simple concept, however for brand new models that feature new ECU versions that have locked/protected firmware this is a great solution (as these ECU"s cannot be flashed or tuned). The ECU is not altered, it remains closed loop so it is also very safe.
It causes a massive spike in engine coolant temp and makes very little difference in performance on the actual road. I wish i never bought it, as it was a complete waste of money, increases the risk of engine damage and they have a ZERO REFUND policy on this item. 0/10 Horrible product
Do you have to run the higher octane gas when using this tuner? Gas prices are nuts and I know you get better performance with the higher octane but was wondering could you run with the lower octane without messing up your engine? Thanks!
It's a great tuner until it gets water on it. Put my bronco in limp mode and set off all kinds of alarms. Had to completely disconnect it and reset all codes to get it out of limp mode. Have heard of others having the same issue from going through car wash. Pulled it out and went with Ford's performance tune.
Or you can get a 2" lift from Ford, with a performance pack, and 37s as well. All from factory with a 3/36k warranty. I'm sure it's much more affordable as well 😉
I just got a wildtrak 2.7 and after 2 years of getting an 08 535 bimmer for my son. I'd treat the bronco same. Both are direct injection twin turbo motors. Bmw says 93 octane only, and please, please put an oil catch can on it. This will same big problems done the road.
Why dont you do a comparison video between the Panda motorsports tune, the ford motorsport and the JB4 tune. Two are piggy backs and of course the Ford performance is ECU. I put on some race wheels and am trying to get decent gas mileage due to the 2 doors tiny fuel tank. Ford performance told me you have to remove their tune prior to applying another one.

Thanks for the detail explanation on the settings.
Hope it was helpful! Thank you for leaving a positive comment :)
Crazy bro!! Thank for sharing!!
Glad you enjoyed the video, stay tuned for more Bronco content soon! Thanks for watching.

Not bad. I assume you were running 93 octane?
The Bronco was on 91 octane! It was also about 100 degrees in our dyno room. Thanks for watching!
What about one for the ST Edge?

Sport mode does not increase HP on a factory vehicle... just remaps the throttle input and shift points.

@@rollindieselplati4917I call bullshit on all of that.
Yep. These are pure garbage

91+ octane should always be run in turbo vehicles for optimal performance

ummmm these are not waterproof so if you are soaking it in water its obviously a issue. A little water from a car wash wont hurt it.
I just received a 2023 Bronco 2.7L.
Are you able to tune the 2023s?
We have our tuning box as advertised in the video
Sweet
Did you all do any testing in spot mode?
Yes sport and standard.
One word...Whipple.
Three Words, We're About It!

Do you have 35s or 37s
If 37s what did you do so they don't rub?
37s will fit with only a 2” spacer lift
I only wish you explained what the gains were with each grade of gas i.e.- 87 octane,89 & 93 + any E85 data 🙁
We would never run 87 oct in a turbo vehicle with tuning. This is a plug and play kit so e85 is not an option

@@vivid_racingThe F-150 2.7 can run E85. You guys are clueless with your module garbage. Plus you can't tow with just maxing with you module. Omg

That would honestly be a really good video!
The best tune is getting the PCM unlocked and having the truck properly tuned for full E85 with HP Tuners. Not this piggyback garbage.
So this is a piggyback.
Piggybacks plug into the ecu harness. Tuning box tap into oem sensors
Its just fooling the engine and throwing more boost at it by changing the reading from the sensors. A true tune is a much better option
Can’t see the video
Weird
Everyone else can , sorry
9.4Sec 0-60 is horrible
6.3 0-60 for my stock '23 Wildtrak
With 37s?
It's also 93 deg at 6200 ft
Leaving video.
Almost 3 minutes in and nothing on the title yet.
