    Honestly, mfg’s just need to either fix their design or just have a catch can pre installed on turbo vehicles… that’s my .02

    The Ford 2.7 TT V6 has both direct and port injection so it does not need a catch can. The port injection will keep the intake passage and valves clean.

      Yes, the Bronco uses a hybrid system with both PI and DI... Discussed @2:04. So it will help keep the valves cleaner than a full DI system. However, since the PCV system will still be pumping dirty air through the intake and coating everything downstream with oily deposits, a catch can will help keep the intake side cleaner longer.

      People clearly do not understand how a pcv system works if they think it's really only happening on DI engjnes. 🤦

    I have a different catch can system on my F-150 3.5L Ecoboost and it works. I empty mine about every month, but I also have 142,000 miles on my truck. I have noticed that it seems to work better when it is colder out. Don't know if the colder aluminum can makes it more efficient or because maybe it takes longer for the engine to warm up.

      I installed a JTL in my 5.0L F150. During the winter I caught a lot of condensation mixed with the oil deposits. I was emptying it out every 2 weeks. Now that it’s warmer, it’s a lot less and thicker deposits.

    Can you do a video for the 2.7 gmc Sierra I have not found one for an oil catch can video

      That's not something we have on the docket to do, but if we get the chance, we'll post it up.

    You don't need a catch can for an engine that is both port and direct injected. This is more applicable to the gen 1 2.7 rather than the gen 2.

      Yes. Pretty gnarly stuff in it, though not as much as we expected: ua-cam.com/users/shorts-BlaX07mWBg?feature=share

    What is the advantage of the dual catch can over the single for the 2.7 ecoboost bronco?

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  2 роки тому

      @Jan Vergara, The single catch can covers the PCV side, the dual catch can filters both the PCV and the CCV sides of the engine.

      @@northridgenation do you have the dual catch can in stock ?

      Because auto manufactures don't build cars with longevity in mind.

    UPR catch can is FAR superior. I mean come on a mishimoto kit with worm clamps? Are you serious? This kit is not well put together and I advise everyone to check out UPR kit. UPR kit has nice quick disconnects that match the Ford design and clips right into place like OEM with nice Continental hoses. There's just no comparison.

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  2 роки тому +1

      Really? Worm clamps are your breaking point? 😉
      Yes, the UPR kits are nice, and we have those too: www.northridge4x4.com/part/tools/5030-274-1-upr-products-plug-n-play-oil-catch-can-black

      @@northridgenation when you're spending 300$ for a kit that has Chinese worm clamps instead of properly fitted quick disconnects, hell yes thats a big deal. It goes from afro engineered back yard mechanic throwing an ebay catch can on to looking like a quality kit. I mean, its not like it's cheap? UPR kit is the same price actually a little cheaper and it's 100x better design and construction.

    The only reason you need one is so they can take your money

    Catch can is NOT NEEDED. I've had one installed for 20k, NOTHING on the dip stick. My 3.5L F150 only has direct injection, and needs one..... The Bronco Does Not Need This.... Waste money like I did.

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  Рік тому

      Interesting, wonder why yours didn't catch anything and ours caught a lot?

      @@northridgenation There's oily residue, but no collection. I thought there was something after a few thousand miles, but it was still just lightly oiled due to vapor, it's normally a closed system.
      After the few under hood fires I've read about, I'm thinking of removing it, so if mine catches fire they can't blame an aftermarket part. That's just me...

    Catch cans separate you from your money. Total waste of money. I have a 2012 Mustang GT with a VMP Gen 3 blower making a little over 1,000 whp. No catch can. Using old school tech - a breather on each bank. Zero oil consumption.
