Wing looks lovely and stable. Are you using the TBS electronics pack? Surprised the top speed is only 120mph, it looks like it could go alot quicker. Has anyone gone faster and what was the setup?
At the moment there are only around 10 Mojitos out there and i believe all are running the TBS Electronics Pack. With a more agressive prop you could defenitely go faster, but it would reduce the flight time. As i really enjoy cruising and longrange flights, i preffer efficiency over speed.
@flyte.studio thanks for the reply. Does look like a lovely soarer with FPV. I can see this being popular. I'm sure once people get their hands on it will see some crazy builds
@@scottyh72 cool, is that with a Mojito? Only footage I have with data is my old goblin doing the 1 mile challenge. About 900W for 125 flat level speed for 1minute. It’s smaller though, so obviously will use less amps. I think the mojito numbers look good as it’s quite a bit larger. - but look how much easier it is to build!
Anyone notice a top speed? I saw 20A at 30V on a climb... would mean about 600W of power. I'm liking it. I'll stick with my mini drak, but this looks great.
I'm surprised it's not faster. I saw 180km/hr, which isn't crazy for an 8s battery. My Nano Drak with the bigger 40" wings on 6s 2810-1500kv does 94mph(151km/hr). With my twin tractor setup with 2807-1900kv 6" props and short wings on 6s, it did 109mph/175kph.
I mean.. My Dolphin on a 4s lipo also hits 170kmh reliably. But it shakes like a motherfucker. Reaching a speed and confidently handling that speed are two different things.
I am not sure if it was calibrated in this video. But from looking at it could be quite close! I‘ll upload another dvr with a calibrated sensor in the coming days
Wow that's smooth! Usually fixed wing footage can be a bit jarring but this is lovely. Did it take much tuning to get to this point or is the airframe just that good?
It's more about the outside conditions. No wind, no thermals. I imagine this aircraft is also quite stable. Planks/forward swept are my favorite wings to fly.
look at the sun, it looks like morning. the ground has not yet really warmed up, so there is no chatter. In the morning and evening all the planes fly as if on rails. but in trench weather in the afternoon, still low near the ground, it will shake.
Majestic af 😍

I only seen it hit 1kW, that’s good for those speeds, it just needs more prop

@@joshgault61 140mph on 1 kw is what I usually see. Agreed on prop. Not going fast with 8x4.5 prop.

Nice fight bro Just found the channel and subbed
👍🍾
Nice video, that plane looks promising! May I ask if the TBS Electronics (FC) can get Ardu? Thanks!
I am not sure if you can install ardupilot on the lucid fc unfortunately. I only ever used it for inav
No you would have to get the H7 for ardu

@@mrmaple I‘m not sure if the sensor was calibrated yet, so take it with a grain of salt
Can you say something on mAh/km ? would be really interessing on 6S / 8S and also 2P cause of the additional weight.... any numbers would be nice :)
I‘ll do a test kn the coming days!
@flyte.studio Thx

it's all in the prop. an 8x4.5 prop will simply not go faster. for our kind of flying we prefer the vertical speed (35m/s , 90mph).

Is your amp osd correct ?does It really cruises around 3 to 4 amps?
Yes it's the most streamlined efficient foamie you can build
8s...
This is good, but is 8s for if it was 4s it would be 6-8 amps

I did a bit of tuning yes!
You can find the inav tune here

@@unixoid33I just looked up the time. It was at 4:30PM. It was warm enough for a tshirt but not super warm/hot like in mid summer
I want this with ELRS 915MHz and openIPC video
@@NorgeSquad do it! i‘m sure it will be amazing!
let me know how it goes!
@flyte.studio hell yeah!
If only they designed and built this with FPV in mind. I'll stick the Atom RC Dolphin thanks.
