toriboy25 LOL! Now wait a minute dude...I also happen to think their were other acts in the 90's that were underrated as well like, The Gin Blossoms, Blind Melon, Fuel, Tonic...wait a minute you know what... you're right. Those acts were great but not better than *Toad* lol! You're right, I stand corrected!

thegame546444 That's true. I loved Shannon Hoon you're absolutely right. He was the real deal. He was just a slave to his sins, and his passions ...what a waste. I'm kind of angry at him for not being strong enough to still be here fighting through it all ...

Why do people keep saying they are underrated? They had plenty of hits and plenty of airtime; I still hear them on the radio fairly regularly.

On 9/11/01 the only radio station I could pick up was 102.1 The Quake in Wenatchee, WA. The DJ read the news updates then said she had to play this song. I was driving down a long hill looking at the North Cascade mountains. The news was so sad, the view beautiful and this song captured that moment for me, forever.

I am by definition mostly a metal head. However, Dulcinea is my all time favorite album and has been since it's release in the 90's. Although it's hard for me to rate one song as my favorite, this is one that would absolutely be among the ones I would choose from. When I'm feeling like shit, this is my go to album.

+TwistedStrummer It's interesting...Metal Heads generally appreciate many more diverse genres of music, we love talent, in it's many forms, I know I do. I have been one of you since the mid '70's and about the only thing I can't stand is rap. I love Progressive Metal but I absolutely love TtWS and have for many years. They have a very unique sound and yet you know they have that '90's sound.

    • @JenX_1973
      @JenX_1973 7 років тому +4

countrysamurai I am a metal lover as well. TTWS is a great band, and very underrated. I agree with you, what you said about metalheads appreciating and listening to many different genres of music, and not strictly metal only. You can be a metal lover, and still love and enjoy other genres of music. I think metalheads are by far the most diverse group of music lovers of all. People think that just because you love metal, that's the only genre you listen to. That's so not true! As for Toad, I have loved these guys since I first heard them in the early 90s. Very passionate songs, performed and sung with such emotion and feeling. Rock on, my fellow metalheads!

countrysamurai You rock, also! It really shocks people when I tell them that Alex Skolnick from Testament, used to be one of the guitarists in Trans Siberian Orchestra! This just shows that metal guitarists and musicians who play mainly metal music, they have a very wide range of talent and they also enjoy a vast array of musical genres, not just metal. Just shows how talented these musicians are who play mostly metal. Very talented!

I watched the video "walked on the ocean" in the early 90´s when I was a kid on a channel called More Music TV using satellite antena and I liked that song so much that remained in my mind, didnt know the name of the band after several years later. Theyre amazing, this song is great too. I hope theyre all Ok.

As an 80s fanatic that cant stand the eras after i cant stand the 90s alt rock...it was lame as hell and it was full of bad melodic soft rock crap....with that being said they were few and i mean very few goid 90s bands and these guys had some good songs....if you closely listen to the chorus here and the ending melody you can hear an 80s melodic sound...something the 90s didnt have....another good example is pearl jams "black" ending ....its amazing and epic and trully melodic but its not really the epiatome of the 90s sound.....this one here with "something wrong" or watever are amazing 90s songs that are far and between.

Saw Glen play solo at a street fair in 2010. I was on a blind date with my now wife. Glen signed her arm, she had it tattoo'd on her arm that evening. We've seen TOAD perform throughout Southern California / Las Vegas at least 10 time since then. We have met Glen, Todd, Dean, Randy and Johnathan a few times. Great music, great people. Looking forward to 2017.

One fine day in 1998 or maybe 1999, Someone left a tape in a old house of the abandoned housing redevelopment area, Seoul, Korea
I just hang around there and accidentally picked it up and came home and play in the cassette player,
this track was pretty enough to keep me focused on the album.
At the time, no one around me seemed don't know this band.
I listened so many time as much as I could memorize all the lyrics that I did not know what those mean - I still don't know what exactly means -

To be honest I only understood this when I read the lyrics. I’ve always loved the song and melody. But the lead singer’s intonation is so poor it’s hard to pick up all the meaning.

    • @craigcarlock5799
      @craigcarlock5799 4 роки тому +8

@@yoni23able I hear what you are saying, but, I wonder if maybe that's the point? Just as so many of the people who heard Jesus, didn't understand his message unless they really listened or had help. Much as Saul, later named Paul, explains what he was shown. As these lyrics help you understand the meaning of this song, the portions of the Bible that Paul authored help others understand the meaning of the Gospel.
      Best wishes to you

“Fly From Heaven” ALWAYS makes me cry! In my opinion it’s one of the most poignant songs ever written about Jesus. I can,in my mind’s eye, picture His half brother,James, saying these words.Saul, who became Paul was a tax collector and did persecute those who followed Jesus. If I were James I would be VERY leery of a man who did such a quick 180 turn after meeting the spirit of a “man” he purported NOT to believe in.Saul was a Pharisee and they strictly followed their own rules about “God’s Laws”.He did become an Apostle and Jesus did send Ananias to heal Saul’s blindness. When he was baptized “Paul” he eventually wrote beautiful letters to “The Seven Churches” but I can understand that many of Jesus’s Apostles didn’t completely trust this disciple.

Paul is making me nervous // Paul is making me scared
Walk into this room and swaggers // Like he's God's own messenger
Change the name of my brother // Change the things that he said
Says that he speaks to him // But he never even knew the man
But I'd give my life for him
    Like water through my hands
    You'd give him any ending
But if he's all you say
    Would he fly from heaven
    To this world again
    To this world again
    Take whatever you're needing
    Take whatever you can
    We are broken from within
    Run to another land
They took my brother // They ripped him from me
To twist his words as they did his body
Denied his family // Denied his beauty
To lay him down at the feet // Of those he couldn't save
    Couldn't save, couldn't save
    Will it be the end

In 1994, my girlfriend at the time, and I, we are traveling up the 101 from Los Angeles to southern Oregon. And this was playing. We stopped at several places. San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Monterey, etc. It was a good time. I miss it.

Try as they will to profit from Jesus' beauty, the church will never truly contain his radical message. You can kill the man but you cannot kill an idea. And whether or not you believe in his divinity, the man was and remains a shining example of courage and compassion in a colorless sordid world.

this album came out the year a family member died. we were an extended family (4 adults, 1 child) and didn't practice christianity, even though all of us were raised in various incarnations of it. so this song meant quite a lot to me. thank you, Glen.

It's sad that a non-christian band can see Paul for the false apostle that he was, yet most churches hold Paul with higher guard than Yeshua(Jesus) himself.

It’s 1999 I’m a ‘93 Chevy Cavalier. In that car there’s a Craig tape deck that can only play the cassette that’s jammed in there. Dulcinea played non stop until I bought a new car. I can still listen to that album nonstop.
