I have 9 ft medium heavy SST spinning setup for chinook fishing. It gets the job done but I prefer my Riversider better. The SST is a little too bulky/heavy and the eyelets are a little small for my preference. Quality is great though. Great video as always!
Useful video. I'm trying to build a fishing rod primarily for targeting small to medium-sized fish in the open ocean, such as surf perch. Because I will need to cast constantly, a lightweight rod is very important to me. It also needs to be easy to maneuver and have the ability to cast farther. I'm unsure what the perfect length of the rod would be for this application. Any thoughts on this?
Question: Is this the best all-around spinning rod in this price range? Is it better than the Bass Pro one? Anything else you would suggest? I’ve read some reviews of this one breaking? Would the Okuma Guide be a worthy upgrade?
The trolling rods are a more moderate action, so they bend a lot and make it hard to cast lures. That’s why they are meant for trolling, because your just letting your lure out behind the boat
I’m looking for a 7.6 trout rod I can use in the river & lake for jigging, lures, etc any recommendations? The fennwick hmx & this okuma are on the list for me. Preferably under a $100

Yup all rods certainly have their strengths and weaknesses, I’ll have to do some research on the Riversiders tho. Thanks for the comment!
That’s SST not a Celilo

I think the best bang for your buck spin rod is the Celilo, but this is a great choice too
What’s the difference between a trolling rod and regular one? Couldn’t you cast lures with it?

I have a SST 862Ma casting rod. Is this really a trolling rod or can it be used for other applications?
It can be used for other stuff too!
