I’ve found that using deodorant without aluminum lightened up mine, I also used a turmeric mask that I made using mostly turmeric with a little lemon face wash, both natural lightening agents. I only used the mask maybe 2 weeks as I transitioned to natural deodorant.

@@a.j.9098 I don't believe it's the same hiperpigmentation condition us, people of color, get on our armpits and groins. It has nothing do to with acanthosis and diabetes, as dr dray said in the video you mentioned.

The Eucerin proposed by the doctor works amazingly well. My elbow was darn near black from friction. I use the product, 2 to 3 times a day and after a month my elbows actually look normal. If you have a lot of dead tissue on your elbows as I obviously did, using the lotion along with a good scrubbing in the shower every morning with pumice soap and my shower sponge and I’m feeling confident about wearing short sleeve shirts again.

    • @ayasaaedi4470
      @ayasaaedi4470 4 роки тому +49

StoryOfThisGirlxx Hiii, I want to help, because I had the darkest knees you could imagine and now it’s completely gone. I would go in with the first aid beauty KP bump eraser body scrub 1-2x week. This combines physical and chemical exfoliants, which I hate for the face, but I like physical exfoliating for the body. It has AHA (glycolic acid and lactic acid) which is really good for removing dead skin cells to make your skin (knees) smoother and AHA’s are known for lightening the skin. The physical exfoliant is also going to be really helpful. I sometimes go in with the Paulas choice 2% bha exfoliant (I use this for my face 1x week, but sometimes also for my knees and body) BHA which is salicylic acid, is really good for really getting in there and getting rid of all that discoloration. Then at the end it is absolutely cruel to go in with a moisturizer (my fav is the A derma exomega cream. I don’t know if you’re into skincare and know anything about AHAs/BHAs, but do not overdo it! ONLY once a week. It can cause a lot of damage to overuse it and acids will make you more sensitive to the sun, so it is important to apply sunscreen, also so you don’t get more hyperpigmentation from the sun so: 1x week routine: first aid beauty bump eraser, Paulas choice 2% exfoliant and A derma exomega cream

This video just made me realise the criminal levels of misinformation folks including 'experts' have been dishing out over the years. As a teen I was highly conscious of intense FADES in various parts of my body but as an adult I've learnt to accept it and also do my best to avoid friction and to just keep it moisturized to prevent it from worsening. I just wish this info had somehow made it's way to me back then, would've saved hours upon hours of time and energy spent doing useless DIYs and worrying. Thank you for this!

i think she already addressed this but your oil/moisture production is regulated by your hormones, not how much you moisturize or not, etc.
so “over moisturizing” will not have an effect on how much oil your skin produces. you just might think that your skin is not producing as much moisture because you have gotten used to moisturizing it so much, and you are comparing the two

I had DARK knees when I was younger. Ask my mom why it was like that, she said it was because I was kneeling. My younger self made the conscious decision to stay off my knees. Years later (like 4th or 5th grade), I looked in the mirror and it was GONE! No products. Too bad I couldn't do that for my elbows. I'm in school and you just have to out your elbows on your desk. I assume it's the same for office jobs too🤷‍♀️

The cheapest way is Vaseline. Use it morning and night sometimes in between. You will see a super result. Knees, elbows, heels etc. It softens the place after a while it will get not only lighter but absolutely no bumps or roughness smooth like baby skin. Just make it your dayly habit after you shower and creamed it's a mini extra stem with gigantic results. Patients is key 😉

I'm gonna throw a question here, although it's not related to the topic of this video, but in hopes Andrea reads this comment... 🙈
So I recently bought the Vichy Solar Prospective Water SPF30 Hydrating.
I like that it contains hyaluronic acid.
And I know, I know, I know... There is fragance in it, but almost all vichy products have fragance. 😔
    But what I wonder is...
Based on the ingredients list, is this product ooclusive enough to actually moisturize or could it actually increase transepidermal water loss? 🤔
    Aqua/ Water
    Homosalate
    Dicaprylyl Ether
    Dicaprylyl Carbonate

I had really dark elbows and my mother would always comment on them and how dry they looked. Normal body creams I suppose weren't thick enough so I used a lotion bar I had from Lush (used about 2-3 times a day) and maybe 2 weeks later my mother asked me what I was doing differently because my elbows looked so much better/weren't as dark anymore (they weren't rough either; very smooth). I had used the massage bar from Lush and although it does contain fragrance, the oils in it stay on your skin for several hours.
