Where the wind meets unfortunately has been reported by many testers to be severely disappointing. The character power progress hits massive wall in the middle of your journey that requires unreasonable amount of grinding to break. Other issues also rampant such as diverse but meaningless combat mechanics, monotonous and repetitive quests that offers little rewards. The fact that the developers spoke the words: "the game CAN be experienced like a single player campaign" somewhat tells you this is through and through a mobile on-line game at its core.

This looks awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on it! I am a "character action" conisseur too so definitely feeling those MGR, DMC and Ninja Gaiden vibes but classics like Godhand come to mind as well. Does anyone here remember a PS2 action game called "Bujingai: The Forsaken City"? It reminds me a lot of that too - especially the parry dances! Black Myth Wukong should scratch that itch until Phantom Blade Zero comes out amongst other titles both old and new whilst we wait! 😁
man, the revelations of difficulty levels and not a soulslike game makes me so happy not because I want to play it on easy (I usually play it action games with difficulty settings on the hardest settings) but because a lot of games trying to ape off the fromsoft formula make the difficulty so bullshit that it becomes infuriating. the surge was a big example of that but the sequel was a step up
So glad the combat isn't Souls like. I could never get into any ot them because I grew up playing games like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden. I will be getting this and Black Myth Wukong for sure!

Knew I wanted this game since last year from the first showing, A really dope mash up of all the blade combat games that matter rolled into one. As I type that, it really feels like a generic description. But the more I look at this game is the more I actually see elements of all of the blade combat action games that matter. I love it here and I will be buying at full price on day one.
Obviously I’ll still have to play this to really tell, but I’m not seeing the Ninja Gaiden comparisons here, as someone who’s played the NG games for well over a decade now. Crowd control is the very essence or thesis of Ninja Gaiden, where control in a 3D space is crucial, as well as chaining together multiple different moves, and interacting with environments such as walls, utilizing your Ninpo at the right time, and juggling highly aggressive enemies to eventually enter a flow state when all of these pieces click. Even in Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma, (the first 3D game) where combat is at its slowest compared to NG2 and 3, the gameplay was still much faster and frenetic than what’s been shown here. This looks really cool as a video game, but it’s not giving me Ninja Gaiden vibes, personally!
All you had said is perfectly accurate as a ninja gaiden veteran , I hope they add on every difficulty the minion change and the boss attack pattern change also , I guess it's too hard ask so much.
It is trailer so I though they make it easy mode for everyone can play it. If you can play Ninja Gaiden you are quite good with action game but look at some guys like IGN, they died more than 3 times by final boss. If they put hard mode like Ninja Gaiden, I believe they will receive negative reviews. So make it easy first.
I kinda agree with you. To me, the biggest indicator is that the camera seems over-the-shoulder third person. A character action game should give a wide shot of the action, so you can cover all your angles. I thoroughly enjoyed the Nioh games. They could be fast-paced, but also had behind-the-shoulder camera, so we'll see.
Yay I am happy things r going this direction. I am a fan of everything in souls-like games. The art, levels, lore all of it but I can't play them bc I don't like the combat and death recovery thing. I hope more like this come out.
I've seen that weapon the last boss kept throwing in a kungfu film whos name I can't remember. When it lands on your head it would then cut it off and the guy would yank the weapon back to himself with the head inside. I wanted to see it land and see if it would have done that to him. Game looks great.
Art direction and attention to detail is remarkable in this game. It looks like every bit of debris, spiderwebs in the rafters, puddles, etc is meticulously placed to build atmosphere. Sure LOOKS like it should be amazing.
I was also skeptical but knowing that this is more of a dmc, mgr, style of game that for sure helps the doubt I had when it was first revealed. I wonder how different all the weapons are and how many there are, because I assume most of the weapons will be earned from bosses like how there was the larger sword in the last fight from the previous boss.
Ya know this may be the first types of souls like game I might buy mainly because it's straight forward to the fighting. The last boss music goes really hard
Cool boss battle i would like to see more use of the environments in battle like jumping off walls or interacting with it to cause more damage to an enemy .
The recipe sounds great. The hitboxes and how hits feel and look is a bit weird. But a dmc/ng with souls level design is my kinda thing. Also, the designs look good, too. Hope they don't mess it up. Edit: thank you for moving your face out of the way max 👍.

I'm SO GLAD IT ISN'T A SOULS-LIKE GAME!!! There have been way too many and I want to go back to the good old action days of DMC, Ninja Gaiden, etc., so hearing this made me have a big sigh of relief. Wo Long was pretty interesting to me, at first, but some things I wasn';t too crazy about. But I love the later Ninja Gaiden games (specifically Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2)!
This is one of the "Oh shit" moment when the first time you saw the game reveal trailer , it looked Too Good to be True and you thought it ain't gonna be like that but suddenly it is actually REAL
music is insane in this game
This looks awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on it! I am a "character action" conisseur too so definitely feeling those MGR, DMC and Ninja Gaiden vibes but classics like Godhand come to mind as well. Does anyone here remember a PS2 action game called "Bujingai: The Forsaken City"? It reminds me a lot of that too - especially the parry dances! Black Myth Wukong should scratch that itch until Phantom Blade Zero comes out amongst other titles both old and new whilst we wait! 😁
This may be the most satisfying looking gameplay I've seen in my life.
man, the revelations of difficulty levels and not a soulslike game makes me so happy
not because I want to play it on easy (I usually play it action games with difficulty settings on the hardest settings) but because a lot of games trying to ape off the fromsoft formula make the difficulty so bullshit that it becomes infuriating.
the surge was a big example of that but the sequel was a step up
This, Expedition 33, ans Doom are my most awaited
So glad the combat isn't Souls like. I could never get into any ot them because I grew up playing games like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden. I will be getting this and Black Myth Wukong for sure!
Soul has a lot of costume in PB Executioners, i hope they will include some 🤞
I got the best kind of chills while watching this.
a DMC/Ninja Gaiden with Souls level design sounds AMAZING. Definitely gonna keep my eye on this game.
It's the music and combat that makes this look better than any souls like game for me .
Sekiro still has the best combat ever.
Play Nioh then, it might have something worthy for you in terms of combat
Yep definitely those I those aspects have always been lacking in those games to me. This game fixes those aspects by replacing them other far better aspects from other games. To me its taking the best things from each of the games that inspire it and combining them into one incredible game.
Get gud lil bro
@@Ohbas888 So if they want a faster-paced, more action-oriented game...That means they're bad at the other one?
This game looks amazing!, the combat is so fast!
Combat reminds me of Bujingai: The Forsaken City (PS2) I loved that game.
My rough take on the trailer was MGR:R style combat more than Souls and I'm quite pleased that's the case. I'm definitely interested now!
The description of the gameplay had my curiosity, but the boss with a flying guillotine had my attention.
That music hits!
Im really waiting for this Lost soul aside ,Myth of Wu Kong, and Db sparking Zero and also where winds meet they all got my interest cant wait and i hope they're great
By the looks of it this game seems to have improved some aspects that have always been lacking in souls games to me. The game fixes those aspects by replacing them other far better aspects from other kinds of action games. To me its taking the best things from each of the games that inspire it and combining them into one incredible game.
Knew I wanted this game since last year from the first showing, A really dope mash up of all the blade combat games that matter rolled into one. As I type that, it really feels like a generic description. But the more I look at this game is the more I actually see elements of all of the blade combat action games that matter. I love it here and I will be buying at full price on day one.
sounds sick, happy its a character action game
Yea, all I'm seeing is very very loose souls combat with not a lot of impact.
Looks cool
Yea it looks cool
I'm like the director, i like level design, i don't like combat in souls
I want this game !
I love souls like games but I also love Devil May Cry games, so the combat of DMC on SL levels? Sounds like a match made in heaven
it doesnt look like a dmc combat
Of course it is not a Soulslike, fucking people calls everything 3rd person a soulslike. I'm tired of that fucking word.
Me too
I'm excited for devs to explore non-Souls combat systems again.
It feels like it's dominated the action genre for a very long time now.
Guys, do you remember a game on PS2 called Bujingai? I getting the same vibes
The music sounds incredible
the sound design is awesome
Casually pulls out Nightmare beta from DMC1.
I feel these types of games are more set up to succeed now that we're kinda in a post-souls world
Starts the play through with “It feels like Ninja Gaiden.” That’s all I need, I’m in 😅
The only thing this game is missing for me is some air combos. Otherwise i am very interested in checking it out on release
Yay I am happy things r going this direction. I am a fan of everything in souls-like games. The art, levels, lore all of it but I can't play them bc I don't like the combat and death recovery thing. I hope more like this come out.
Videogame *has a dodge button*
Twelve different gaming news outlets "omg new soulslike!"
I've seen that weapon the last boss kept throwing in a kungfu film whos name I can't remember. When it lands on your head it would then cut it off and the guy would yank the weapon back to himself with the head inside. I wanted to see it land and see if it would have done that to him. Game looks great.
The live gameplay demo with IGN shows the death animation for the flying guillotine
这把武器叫做血滴子
the music is sick!!
You had me at "its more like Ninja Gaiden..."
Ya know this may be the first types of souls like game I might buy mainly because it's straight forward to the fighting.
The last boss music goes really hard
Okay this looks sick
Damn that boss fight music at the end is fire. I'm so tired of these big orchestral scores after getting 100% in Elden Ring lol.
