The difference in early play right now is immense between Daltos and everyone else and I don't think many people are noticing. Daltos has 5 pop in his capitol, everyone else's 3-4. He's churning out settlers to fill up his lands while everyone else is scrambling around with no purpose. The tiles around his capitol are almost all improved while most players don't have more than a couple improved. The level of play here is impressive and he is correct in being dismissive of the Great Library. Right now at this stage of the game the most important thing you could be doing is: building up your faith for a pantheon (check), building settlers to claim all your land (check), stealing workers from a city-state (check), and improving luxuries to keep your pop happy during early expansion (check). It's very impressive start to the game and it's nice to see his homework paying off. The thing is though will it pay off in the long term when he starts to run into adversity. His neighbors of Kirsty and Rythian are historically quite passive so he might have a very good game here.
@@aduboo29he's commented before that he knows WHAT to do, but not necessarily WHY he's doing it. That level of understanding can only carry you so far, and it's harder to practice mid-game than early.
@@RadicalLynx Yeah, he's basically like a chess player who's memorised all the openings but hasn't actually learned the logic behind it so once it gets past the opening he doesn't really know what to do. Whereas Lewis doesn't know any openings but has such solid intuitive understanding of the game that he doesn't need to, he just does what feels right and it usually works
It also helps that he's playing America so he doesn't need to worry about escorting his Settlers. This means he needs less military units bumming round his terretory and sends his combat units to deal with barbs and likely contributed to his ability to settle so many cities this early on. And sure, his mid to late game might be bad, but at least he has a good foundation that he's building upon, and the foundation is always the most important part of any buildings as it determins what you can build on top of it. Can't really build a castle if half of it sinks into the ground, or something like that.
Definitely thought they were speaking a different language for a moment when they were deep in the WoW talk! So glad to see a new Civ game and excited to have Kirsty and RT aboard. Here's hoping they or Daltos sneak out a win against the usual suspects!
I was never into raiding in WoW, but my younger brother was, and he had a similar story to Daltos's. The raid leader's girlfriend joined the raid, so when an item dropped that somebody else had wanted for ages, he just gave it to her. The entire guild fell apart after that since the raid leader was also the guild leader, so he started kicking out people who complained.
To answer Daltos's question: You cannot be forced to testify under the 5th Amendment for anything which you might incriminate yourself in a crime. This gives rise to spousal privilege laws which give spouses shared 5th amendment rights as testifying against your spouse is essentially testifying against yourself because marriage is a union of people under law. Currently there are no places in the United States that grants citizens the right to a polyamorous marriage under the authority of law, so those relationships are not beneficiaries of spousal privilege laws.
@@ManCheat2 Not trying to say you're wrong... But I don't think anyone's thinking of the 2016 Reno "gun" scare when I say the second assassination attempt. Would it have been correct to say 8th assassination attempt? Yes, but it is not wrong to say it's the 2nd either since the "1st" or the "2024 Pennsylvania rally" one is still very much in recent memory. Moreover, I would say the two most recent attempts were way more serious as they were much of a close call for Trump life. Where are the six other attempts were either plots that were only in plan or were stopped well before the 45th president's life was in danger. For these reasons I believe a majority of people would refer to the most recent attempt as the 2nd and if we wanted to go into the weeds with it we could include the 6 other attempts.

Notwithstanding his rare victories, I like Daltos as the resource of knowledge. It's analogous to Pyrion and Dota. Pyrion is like an Archon or something but possess a plethora of knowledge.

In reference to the thruple question: in the UK and USA it is illegal to marry more than one person, so a thruple cannot all be married to one another. I know a few thruples irl and the ones who are married unfortunately have to leave out one of the three from the union. I'd love to see the law changed but it doesn't look like it will anytime soon since polyamory is so rare compared to monogamy and even within the polyamorous community thruples aren't very common from what I understand - most polys in multiple relationships aren't sharing a partner with another of their partners as far as I know, I'm not poly myself though so I could be wrong about that.
There is spousal law regarding testifying in court, but it's a little bit different to how it was described here. Two people that are married can very much testify against each other, think custody battles or domestic abuse accusations. Spousal law is that you can't be made to testify against your married partner. Your spouse could be a horrible person but unless you yourself want to testify against them there's no law that says you have to.
I love how they're totally right and 'that crazy political thing that happened' sounds like it's so obviously referring to the second Trump assassination attempt
The thing about mtga I know ppl waiting on their turns are being petty cause they know they're losing and waiting so long makes ppl leave. However i only play mtga when i have freetime and I'm VERY PETTY so I just watch tv or UA-cam while waiting for them. Every single time they leave after doing it twice

As other comments have said Daltos is the only one that actually has any idea on what to do. The difference between him and everyone else is so massive it's kind of hard to watch. Though he has previously done well in the early games as well, but lost because he couldn't finish off the others.
he does REALLY well, then something happens, everyone gangs up on him, then he gives up and becomes lewis' toady... EVERY GAME... i'd love to see him just tear everyone apart lol...
