This is a product for early adopters, who spend all their money to test it for us. Meanwhile the world seems to be HD enough without the headset.
So true, 3500 for an unfinished product with cheap plastic front whereas everything else seems to be of better quality? I don't see anything that this device could do better than a Quest 3 which is much cheaper than this. I am not ready to pay 3500 USD to test a product for Apple.

We should go back to the old system when hd meant 1080p, 720p was originally the resolution for a high definition disk, it was never meant to be considered high def for anything else.

Yep, absolutely right. I work with some engineers and they tried to use VR headsets for our customers to do little repairs by themselves with remote support from our engineers and thought, welp, too overpriced for me but it might be interesting for companies. But no fast dataport is just another nail in the coffin.

USB C dongle for 300$ ( only USB 2 speed ) .
@@mumenraider I wish that worked, and would consider it despite the absurd 300$ price, but... it seems this expensive dongle won't even allow you to use Apple's own USB dongles (or to plug in USB storage). Instead it will only allow you to connect the Vision Pro to a Mac.
that's apple for you.. trying to get rid of all the ports. when they killed usb, I refused to buy a new interface for a higher price just because that dumb thunderbolt. I moved to PC

I remember ferociously eating carrots every time I used my VirtualBoy, because I was a dumb kid who believed that they were good for your eyes. Later in life, I learned that it was just a line the Brits told the Jerries when it seemed oddly consistent that they knew the planes were coming. I also learned it was a terrible idea to have a screen strapped to my head for hours on end.
3:20 That's called Vergence-accommodation conflict, is known to be experienced with all Virtual Reality in general and also occurs with Magic Eye illusions

Not sure why vision Pro issues aren't trending and not being rage on UA-cam. Apple logic of users being the problem they found on their expensive product never fails.
When you spend 3500$ on something luxury like that you really hard want to belive its grate, normal human behavior, some companies farm that hard :)

I love the quest too, it was a positive surprise when I used it first, the pass-through sure is not lifelike but the depth is pretty accurate, the FOV is large and virtual graphics are pretty high res. For the price it's a great piece of tech

Not really. Eyes won’t and don’t need to focus that close. The magic of lenses. Your eyes look at more distant images placed at virtual distances that are mimicking walls, screens, objects on tables in front of you, etc. surely you understood this. But maybe not.

The lenses in the headset won't focus according on what wall at what distance you are looking at
You will always be looking at a screen in one fixed distance all the time and that's bad

@@swarleystinson4143 Yes, I would agree that the eyes ideally need to exercise to focus on things that are far away and closer throughout the day. That’s a good point. I don’t know if all the virtual screens are at a fixed distance. My original point to the OP was that the user is certainly not forced to focus on things one inch away from their eyeballs.
Most people already have myopia (nearsighted) because of computers screens, old people are usually farsighted.
@@billr3053 it explain why that guy at 3:21 said his eye struggle to see stuff for 15 minute. (His eye relaxed too much due looking at a fixed distance for too long)

There's a travel option in the settings to allow the headset to work well in trains/planes/cars etc. Looks like some reviewers didn't find it yet.

The cross-eyed thing at 3:20, happens to a bunch of people with VR as VAC. or vergence-accomodation conflict.
It's due to the screen lens being ... "Not Real"ly there, so your eyes lose coherence with distance when you start to track objects at a distance and you don't lose/gain focus. Foveated Rendering and eye-tracking helps, and there's various remedies, but some people can't handle the mis-match of distance and near/far sigh focus switching.
There's also a lot of VR nausea that can happen. The thing generally is, don't force it, because your brain will habituate if you start small, switch to doing something else before you get stronger symptoms. AR tends not to have as much locomotion nausea, but fast-paced jarring movement where your body is stationary can throw your vestibular system into panic/anxiety mode.
There are some fancier ways to handle the problems of VAC, especially around handling motion sickness or other phenomena.
The same issues come up with Stereo 3D video or Stereo based 3D VR games, because as you move the objects in the AR space, they distort and parallax in a different way to the lens/camera being able to abstract and project the same images from the camera to the display. AR based games, use a different format of 3D interaction as a result, because the synthetic space needs to be both mapped and shown to match the camera and camera distortions.

After the initial keynote Google scrapped the keyboard equipped prototypes it had been working on and Blackberry went into damage control mode. Anyone who tried the iPhone virtual keyboard immediately recognized it was the future.
