    I loved the gesture of the dude behind the camera hugging sergio and telling him he'll always be a part of deftones
    He's right

    He is one of the most humble and kind people I have ever met. He is always positive and genuine. Great great interview!

    Yet another great interview! Huge Deftones fan! Sergio seems so cool and looks super happy to be there. Definitely going to miss him in the band. Gore will always be my favorite Deftones record. Such a dark,uneasy vibe to that album.

    This was a very cool interview
    Sergio is super unique as a bassist. His influences are also really vast and it's super cool to hear him talk about quicksand too and his early interactions with deftones.
    Really nice dude. Really wish things worked out between deftones and him, I feel like they really did him dirty and him being such a talented writer and player, it felt wrong.
    But then again I'm just a listener and have no idea about internet all squabbles and or studio interference.
    None the less, great interview Scott :).

      Bass is actually very easy to play. Not very complex.

    • @CaptainDugog
      @CaptainDugog Рік тому +1

      @@ted__ryan like most instruments, the basics are relativity easy but with bass the skill cap goes up with learning the other playing styles like the double thump and slap bass and pull offs and octave slaps. Bass gets immensely harder once you start actually getting into the more advanced and fun part of that instrument.

      @@CaptainDugog I agree. Bass slapping is complex. Depends on style

    I first learned of Quicksand is when I went to go see Anthrax & White Zombie in Fitchburg, MA - Quicksand opened the show and I was pressed up against the stage right in front of Sergio. His guitar cable got tangled at some point which restricted how far he could move away from his amp which was kind of funny. Awesome show and then the next day bought Slip at the record store.

    I am Puerto Rican too, representing all the Boricuas, proud of you Sergio. This dude was treated like shit by the Deftones. He made a huge contribution to the Deftones sound, starting with the Diamond Eyes album, up to 2020. There always had been an animosity between Puerto Ricans and Mexicans, don't know why, I know chino Moreno and the dj/table player are Mexicans, maybe there was no chemistry between them, after everybody left the stage, I am hoping this was not the case here. I wish you the best Sergio, you are better off without this Deftones dudes.
