Video is great as always but you're seriously missing out on a lot of practical aspects. E.g.,
1. Brand image
2. Service cost and service intervals.
3. Resale values
4. Diesel vs petrol refinement levels
5. Spare part prices.
6. Service network and company reports/behaviour with customers.
Hope you cover these major points in the next comparison video.

Baleno & swift..it's funny though everyone talks problems abt it..but when it comes abt maintainance and mileage ..everybodies tail will be tucked down..Maruti have understood the market ..for those of u guys ..take a test drive in bs6 ..u will understand japanese refinement of engine ..

Because the bs6 engine is not any ordinary n/a engine, it’s a ‘dual jet’ unit, giving improved fuel injection for more power, mileage and not to forget, refinement…
The new ‘Gen Z’ three cylinder engine doesn’t stand a chance against the kind of engine you seem to be talking about… which is the k-series 16valve engine.

Too vague a conclusion. Based on my experience of owning both Baleno and Elite i20, I can say if you want a petrol, dont even think about i20. Its too lethargic, underpowered and a fuel guzzler. If its a diesel, there's no looking elsewhere than an i20 provided you can live with a very light steering. If you are looking for lower variants though, i20 has massively cut off features over time and only the asta and the (O) variants have decent equipment while with baleno, even the delta has loads to write home about. And Swift also has some missing features in the lower variants and there is not much difference in price between the Baleno and the Swift, so it depends more on personal preference when choosing between the two.
Bought a i20 asta (O) and its the best literally the best. I have driven baleno and swift but the features, aesthetics and look of i20 really caught my eye.
The Suzuki 1.2l petrol engine is just too much fun to drive.. May be be even better than the Rs.. The engine and steering feedback is where Baleno trumps i20 petrol. In diesel no doubt i20 is the way to go

Had waited eagerly for the Swift before its launch. Was mighty disappointed with the build quality. Picked up the Grande i10 Sportz (P). Been really happy with my decision :)

I would never consider Hyundai/Honda/Toyota/Maruti who build inferior cars for India just because there is no safety watchdog. Volkswagen though a bit expensive to maintain but has a snob value & remains in perfect shape even after years. I am a proud owner of a Polo CL Petrol for last 6 years. My average service cost is around 7K annually and my car has done over 70,000 KMs with not even a single problem till date. It still looks brand new and runs like brand new too. Its only after buying a quality product you understand how other cars does cost cutting by not giving proper wheel claddings, exposed screws, thin seats, thin sun visors, exposed wires under dashboard, untidy engine bay with poor plastic and wires, exposed boot mechanism, no proper corrosion protection under body, poor quality bumpers, puny tyres and list goes on... Wonder why people spend their hard earned money of poor quality cars.

If you want petrol close your eyes and go for baleno if you want diesel close your eyes and go for i20 if you want automatic close your eyes and go for swift
What about freestyle petrol?
Swift 2018 owners, how it is like to maintain body shape of the car? Is it prone to some serious dent from cyclist and two wheeler even at slow speed/impact?
How hard you try to suggest i20... But still Baleno is most sold car over i20 in India.. Just check last 6months car sales data..

Interesting...! Starting both car with TOUCHSCREEN comparison! Really people are going crazy. Safety doesn't matter but can be satisfied with a big touchscreen. Soon the demand for touchscreen will be size of a 40 inch LED TV.

I hate to say this.. Powerdrift was once my favourite channel for its mind-blowing video reviews and best quality content.. But now this has become a channel full of crap and ads.. There's no more good quality content from this channel as it used to be.. I mean no offense and I'm still a die hard fan of what Powerdrift used to be.. It's not just me who thinks like this and I'm really disappointed about it.. I used to believe that Powerdrift was almost as good as the old BBC top gear or even better when it comes to some reviews.. Your old reviews were full of spirit and enthusiasm.. We need the good old Powerdrift back "for the love of Indian motoring".. Please post some quality content like the good old days team Powerdrift.. - a humble Powerdrift fan.. 😐

PowerDrift I'm not just talking about this video.. Just compare your recent videos with previous ones.. Like the review of Triumph Dayton's and Continental GT's or Gurkha's or Duster's.. Those were top notch reviews and no other channels made such amazing videos.. Your recent reviews are not in par with them and you guys aren't making real video reviews anymore.. That's what's disappointing me the most..😑

nothing can come close to the 1.2l petrol engine in the swift and baleno. such refined, peppy and efficient engine. the best of all worlds. combine that with the amazing handling of the swift and baleno, its just paradise for auto/driving enthusiast!

I20 is elite in this section.baleno feels budgetish and swift is awrsome but small car.
Elite I20 has some good features but they go to negative. Because it have sensors for airbags and if we use seat covers.airbags will not pop-out

AVINASH N Figo doesn't have features, about to be discontinued and polo is overpriced and outdated now.
Baleno is a global car and is exported to other countries with changes in suspension setup and some additional features only....now toyota(aka tank) is rebranding it with the same chassis and shell(minor exterior and interior design changes only) as per news.......so considering all this, there's no point in talking about the build.

Nicely and creatively shown. But missed a lot of points like availability of top models with auto box only with Baleno petrol, Sub par petrol engine of i20. The review could have been better. But hey, a lot of people have made this comparo, so, what did PD throw in something new in it?, Nothing, unfortunately. The CVTs could be compared, the usability of the tiptronic with i20 and swift, missing sport mode for CVT in i20, to name a few.
why u people not including ford cars ....? especially recent freestyle....? that is a very good car compare to urs baleno,i 20 & swift....?

One of the most comprehensive videos ever. You should do more such videos specially since you actually recommending a model is the main point of watching such videos.
Why even PD don't put Jazz in this list. I know Baleno & i20 are the competitors in sales number, most people want this comparison . But jazz has 1/5 of the i20 in sales and price range is almost same as i 20 & Baleno (not like polo). If we talk abt safety in euro NCAP, Euro baleno(std, 2 airbag) got 3 star, Euro baleno (6 airbag) got 4 star, Euro swift(6 airbag) got 3 star, Euro i20 (std 6 airbag) got 4 star. Euro Jazz(std, 6 airbag) got 5 star. . Now check indian versons of these car's rating in Euro NCAP, Baleno(2 airbag) got 3 star, Jazz(2 airbag) got 4star, i20(2 airbag) got 4 star. Even Tata's (which manufacture made world's cheapest 4 seater car) one segment lower Bolt's booted version Zest (2 airbag) got a 4 star in Global NCAP(yes the same Global NCAP where Ford Aspire 2 airbag got 3 star). Jazz has best comfort, space, boot space, ride quality, Build quality, safety among all hatches below 10 lakh. And there are many more things like practicality, reliability, fit and finish which is better than baleno or i 20. .... Any way I never seen this much motion graphics/ infographics animations in a comparison video. As a vfx artist and animator I know how much time, work and effort u spending for making your videos interesting as hell which I do not expecting from any other car/bike team in India . This is why whenever i see a news about a new car/bike in India, I google the + powerdrift

There's a lack of research on this topic? Did not expect that from PowerDrift. Why didn't you include Ford Freestyle? It's one of the most value for money hatchback one can buy right now, packed with segment first features. What about VW Polo? German reliability at it's best. If that's not a premium hatchback, i don't know what is.

This is being done by all auto magazines not only by powerfrift.
Because polo is outdated and the facelift didn't make it's way to India.

16" alloys were offered by suzuki first on the SX4 in 2007, much before the baleno came into production
In the scenario when diesel is closing petrol... It makes more sense to make judgements on a comprehensive factors.

Guys it's been years since a review has been given about etios liva has been given by you guys. A review for the facelift also never came even though it was launched 3-4 years back. Please for the love of god review the etios liva. I do think it's a good car worthy of being compared to other cars in its segment

just buy the asta o.. 6 airbags are worth it. 16inch alloys, rear seat is much better contoured and has armrest. its almost a premium sedan experience.

I still remember the accident that happened with creta where it toppled from right lane to the extreme left lane due to a faulty divider on the highways. The copassenger was sleeping but gess what...
They both came out safe .
So i think hyundai is strongly built.

Amazing effects and animations. After quite some time Power Drift does it again. Tanks guys. 👍😁👌 coming to the subjects. Elite i20 is for elite lazy drivers. The petrol lacks punch but is very comfortable. To add, the brakes of 2018 i20 are much better and do not have wooden feeling.

Hey Glen that was brilliant and makes the choice easier. But I also put a request to post a same smart choices between freestyle and the swift. I know freestyle falls into the cross section but yet it falls in the same price bracket as the swift. So a smart choice comparo to pit these cars would really be good.
Suzuki's cars are good to buy because of their presence BUT their build is never as sturdy. They just make their cars lighter to give more mileage. Safety wise sturdiness should always be the priority though. I'm downright scared to consider a Suzuki nowadays.

Thanks for this very useful video. I have took the test drive of i20 diesel last month and guess what, I have booked the Asta (O) diesel and getting delivered this Sunday. I believe the i20 Asta (O) has all the features which a C segment car can offer, except this being a hatchback. I am totally satisfied with the purchase. :-)

You forgot ford freestyle which value for money than swift and features better than premium hatches.
The one thing that ruined i20 for me is the new design for their front grill. The previous one with straight lines was more aggressive IMO.

I just can't stop looking at a Baleno, even in 2018. It's just that good of a car! I like the newly designed Swift too, the front and rear are really a masterpiece.
