      All these things are more or less the same except in some minor changes like the tail lamps and the touch screen and may be the air curtains.But we have to think before buying it as like i said there are competitors like swift and even the nexon costs u less offering better features than this car does.I think if u have money go for it.

      Front grill looks cool, changed the fog lamps shape, alloys looks fantastic. They changed the reverse cam to dash from the rearview mirror. Does this new version still have the auto adjusting rearview mirror according to the beam or the normal one like we have in i10 and all!! And Finally we have Distance to Empty. Its a good thing they did. I really hope this would come in i10 as well, because during long drives and when the fuel gauge shows symbol, its a scary thing whether we would reach the nearest petrol station or we have to push the car to the station. Now we do get a calculation of reaching the nearest petrol station. Is there any way i could upgrade or reprogram so that i will be able to have DTE in my i10 Grand!!!

      PowerDrift the infotainment system needs to be directed towards the driver like the verna. I personally love the DSG gear box on my ameo tdi, I'm not sure what can match up to that standards for a car below 10 laks

    Hyundai i20 in my opinion is the most complete family hatchback sold in India, i test drove the latest face lift and it's really nice to drive around. Everything feels high quality and the refinement levels are awesome. The build quality also is no less than european cars. I mean it offers everything, looks, comfort, good drivability, great service backup, most importantly safety. The flimsy Maruti Suzuki's do not even come close to it.
    Also I mean no offense to any enthusiast, i myself am an driving enthusiast. I find people being so critical about handling which is not bad at all, let's admit it, a regular family hatch user does not drive on a race tracks everyday, there purpose built hatchbacks for that purpose. All in all a great product from Hyundai.

    Probably the first guy to complain about engine noise in Elite i20. Driving one since 2014, and the NVH levels are excellent even today. Absolutely no engine noise inside the cabin. Asta 1.4

    Am not a corner craver and i don't need a stiff suspension since am not gonna drive in autobahn. All i need is reliable,stylish and safe car to pamper around. The elite i20 ticks all the right boxes. A package hard to complain !! It's a HEAD TURNER ❤🚘❤

      vk vlogs Definitely bro. It was launched in 2014. Still looks fresh and gains public interest. I know people who bought this car purely for it's looks and reliability. But at the end "beauty lies in the eye of the beholder "

      Agree but your comment is valid only till the time you drive Polo GT TSI , after that your will prefer to delete it ;)

    • @mayankshuklaYT
      @mayankshuklaYT 6 років тому +1

      Arun Ragupathi I hope you have driven polo Gt not the regular polo because both are completely different cars, also after sales have come down drastically & reliability is far more .. I was once about to finalise on punto but those rubbery gear box which refuses to slot sometime , too long clutch travel , awkward riding positions steals away the driving please punto has to offer .. i mean in city it will be pain.
      I was not a fan Hyundai cars earlier I have driven 1st gen i20 and it’s steering was so vague that nothing can match it’s vagueness .. well don’t know about the current generation . But over all i20 is a killer package.

    • @arunjn27
      @arunjn27 6 років тому +2

      Mayank Shukla Still elite i20 is vague bro.It has good chassis setup but the steering is confusing. I don't own the elite i20 but my friend has. But trust me I've driven more than 15k kms in his car😁😁 I agree all of ur observations on punto. But the hydraulic steering unit is a pure bliss. It's perfectly calibrated. U know it's a point and shoot car. But we can't get everything in a car right. Comfort comes at a cost of driving pleasure. Moreover VW polo is a classic European. Still it looks beautiful in the stock form❤

    Good video PD. I and many of my colleagues feel that the earlier elite looks more classy. This is an overkill esp. at the back. However, to each his own, new or earlier, this is a potent car, good power,super silent engine, space, comfort and looks. All the best Hyundai.

    i am seriously confused btween the i20 active and the jazz. The jazz is more preferred by my family,its spacious and has all the necessary features.But the jazz hasnt seen any updates for a long time and i am really crossed with honda for not launching a proper facelift.The active i20 is better looking,better build inside out,has a lot of features keeping with the time and more ground clearance.Also the jazz is more efficient.considering the petrol engine in both-
    1) which of these is a better drivers car( love the polo but not a versatile package)
    2)which one has the better engine
    3) Is the 165 mm ground clearance coupled with the stiff suspension good enough to tackle our roads without scraping the bottom
    pls reply.i hav been having this confusion for a long time.

    Great & very informative video.
    I thing which I HATE the most about the new Elite i20 2018 is the treatment given to the rear. The tail lights need to be LED and the moving number plate from rear bumper and mixing black cladding to the rear bumper is something not needed at all. For this all experimentation Hyundai has i20 ACTIVE.
    So I would request Hyundai to bring back the same rear profile that of the outgoing i20 with LED taillamps and two reversing lights in rear bumper.

    Gaps are filled like distance to empty, and android auto apple carplay. Sliding Armrest. Nice soft suspension. Steering takes time to get used to it.
    Air Conditioning Still Best in class , it can still beat cabin cooling quality against cars many segments above.
    The cabin is so much silent, obviously you will hear some engine. In other cars cabin is not that quiet so you don't hear engine much relatively.
    Still the best hatchback considering Indian Roads conditions and Weather conditions.

  • @JayKumarAsha

    Great review Glen. Technical question: Do you think the distance to empty/avg MPG is just a software touch or is a hardware involved!! ?

    • @vighneshmahale
      @vighneshmahale 6 років тому

      Jay Kumar It must be as software I guess ,you know your fuel gauge and distance traveled , what I feel is fuel gauge has a higher precision so that it can measure rate of change of fuel for short distance and get instantaneous mileage

    Thanks for a lovely video as always.. I will like to add though you mention that at a 65k higher you get 4 more airbags n a better audio. But is that enough for a brand like Hyundai? We all agree that Hyundai always try to charge a premium for their cars.. I hope we all agree that they know how to make car better, but they don't want to be highest volume churners by passing a little more benefits to it's customer.. that's surprising.. why don't they place their cars as a better value proposition?? It's been long that Maruti has been holding this position n if Hyundai wants, they can... But they love to position themselves in between low end Maruti n higher brands.. Can we as a costumer expect more loyalty from Hyundai after almost 20 years presence in India?? I give this to everyone watching this video today to support me n raise this awareness for people in Hyundai who has been ignoring better value proposition for a long time.. I hope all the buyers of Hyundai has proved all these years that we want a better (driver enthusiastic) n safer car for our family!!!

    IMO Baleno is still the best choice in this segment.I own a baleno since a year now, never regret buying it.Best looker in this segment - ages gracefully ,ride quality and handling is superb especially at high speeds on the highway it does what you intend it to do despite the light weight,never feels out of control .5 adults can sit comfortably for short distances leg room at the back is too good (can manage to do so on long distances too,but no hatchback can guarantee comfort for 5 adults);mileage is good ,adequate features if you go for top end or second top end model , maintenance is low,and big,usable bootspace with flexi seats at the back.i20 scores high on comfort,entertainment features ,but low mileage ,bad handling ,lack of adequate leg room at the back and engine noise inside cabin (?!) are big drawbacks that would surely be felt in the long run and facelifts that cant fix those are useless.

    I liked the new rear, the previous one made the car look bulky, they have really made it look sleek from behind now and it goes very well with long bonnet of the car. This is the perfect hatch in the country now, especially the diesel one, barring the fact that its not a driver's car.

    Bro, soft suspension is what I prefer. All cars in market CANT be with sporty feel.
    . You may buy baleno or swift for handling or stiff suspension..
    Elite I20 is all together for a different category of people. Relaxed quite and comfortable drive is what this car offers. Many guys dont want to twist and turn their car on high speeds ..
    Plz let the suspensions be the way they are.. Stop sending message to company that public needs stiffened suspension and direct steering.
    You guys make good videos but plz just tell what the car feels like. Don't try to create an opinion. Just Advice is welcome

    I own a i20 asta CRDI 2011 model , driven 1,45,000 KM so far . The vehicle still drives very well , the engine is still responsive.It is quite premium still . My only opinion to Hyundai , you should not taken away the rear disc brakes from i20 and verna because both the cars are really powerful and new ones lack the braking power.

    Hi Glen, Please suggest between Hyundai Elite i20 Asta (O) CRDi and Ford Ecosport Titanium+ TDCi

    • @powerdriftofficial
      @powerdriftofficial  6 років тому

      That would have to depend upon whether you want a premium hatch or a compact SUV.

      Thanks for the very prompt response. Actually, My daily commute is not over 20 km and I prefer Petrol cars over diesel. I currently own Grand i10 Asta and Xcent SX(0) but my experience with these cars over hills/twisties is suggesting that they struggle a lot and I need to keep them at higher rpm. Between both the mentioned cars Ecosports has the advantage of bigger boot space but If I choose Petrol Ecosport then I'm not sure about the performance on hills.

      Hey Sanjay, petrol engines make their power relatively higher up the rev range, that is why you need to keep your revs high when you need more power. But there's nothing wrong with that or driving with the needle up the range.
