All Swift is gonna do is increase the sales of Baleno which were hampered by the release of Fronx. Suzuki playing 3D chess.
Then the new esspresso will increase the sales of swift XD
Its called 4D Chess not 3D 💀
If Suzuki could make sure to increase its build quality and it's safety rating near to 4 stars... It'll be a blockbuster as usual 🔥
Even if its not it will be one of the best selling cars
Build quality and safety rating are 2 different things. First, go and learn what differentiates them.
@@peanutbutterjelly1368They’re pretty heavily correlated. Almost all 2-3 star safety rated cars have unstable body shells and comprised chassis under heavy load (read: an accident at 60kmph; most highway drives are at a way higher speed btw). Most people think 6 airbags improves safety but only marginally.
@@M4NA5 wrong. As I said, please search what build quality means. Tesla cars are super safe and highly rated, but are bashed for their poor build quality. Doesn't mean that they are correlated terms.
@@peanutbutterjelly1368 Agreed. Same with the Hyundai cars. Their fit and finish and build quality feels good but not good in safety ratings. Safety is highly reliant on platform strength.
Not putting the 1.0 turbo in the new Swift is utter stupidity. The Swift deserves it more than any other Maruti.
👉 point😊
@@adityathakre1006 1.0L petrol is a big noisy engine almost every model has failed - be it ecosport, baleno, kia every one

In pursuit of tech and features, people just forget how good the Maruti Suzuki manual gearboxes are, especially mated to the 1.2l K12 engines.
Manual is nothing but headache in traffic.
1. From 4 cylinder engine to 3 cylinder engine...
2. From 89 BHP to 81 BHP...
3. From 113 NM of Torque to 112 NM of Torque...
4. Looks are polarizing, and the previous generations were much better in terms of looks 😑😐
5. Prices have increased even more despite the downgrades!!!
6. Safety is a story for another day 😂
People can chill, I'm not a particular fanboy, it's just that in every aspect I see, it only appears like a downgrade. Maruti only focuses on mileage and practically speaking nothing else.. One can get an Ignis or Baleno in the same price range which has more power and 4 cylinder engine, and the Baleno has much better build quality, features, comfort, space and my friend told that Nexa dealerships are much superior compared to the Arena dealerships 👍
PS: It's not an issue if the car is downgraded in few aspects, but the asking price is much more compared to before, and I reckon the Indian bound Swift won't be as pleasing as the European or Japanese ones in terms of build quality and safety...
1. New hydraulic clutch.
2. Excellent steering response.
3. Excellent low end punch.
4. Excellent body control, due to new front stabilizers.
5. Stiffer suspension for the sporty feel.
Looks like you haven't watched the full review yet!
@@pranavbalaji7864 Sporty feel. Just not sporty though.
Indian car lovers just refuse to see these obvious facts.
European 😂😂what have you been smoking?? There's no European cars competing with this anymore
Its missing a sunroof😂😂
They really need to bring a swift sport with the 1.0 boosterjet.
4:32 that tin sound
Sounds good to me
@@pranavbalaji7864 listen in loop then 😂
looks like alto with boleno head lights and pressure cooker dakkan on bonnet
🤣🤣🤣
I saw one in flesh yesterday. Ngl it looks really good.
Previous one looks better
Bodyline gap between Bonnet and bumper is disturbing 💯
15:38 When he hustled that manual gearbox, it gave me goosebumps!!😈
Will wait for the other 2 iterations were we get 1 cylinder engine with 50km per liter mileage
😂😂😂😂
Might as well put cycle pedals in next generation in place of engine. Infinite mileage then😍
I can see the infotainment shaking itself loose. 😅
Why should one pay 10lakh to hear and feel a 3 cylinder thrump. Manufactures are taking the ignorant Indian buyers for granted and leaving the informed customers out of choice. But i wont. Will happily settle for some used good engines.
Yes
You are paying 15L for fronx , 25L for GV 3 cylinders , if that's your criteria. Turbo or hybrid is a secondary point.
15:37 Where we all said Hell Yeah!
My Only Concern Is The Crash Test Rating For This Car, Because It's Pervious Version Scored 1 Star Rating At The GNCAP....
This needs to be spoken about more often. The crash rating is so important, yet nobody seems to care
@@RanjanManoharso sad how come bolero neo scored 1 star with a damaged a pillar ?
@@cineenthusiast1234 what
I guess only time would tell. They have built it better and have taken safety seriously with 6 airbags, ESC, TC as standard. Passive safety should have also improved
Doesn't matter😂 mileage should be more than 20kmpl
COMPARISON:
I cant see why anyone would buy this over the Baleno unless they're fans of swift and failed to compare all the options.
For a price diff of 1 lakh between Baleno top end vs swift top end, baleno gets...
Fundamentals
1. Proven 4 cyl 1.2 K12 engine - 3cyl Z engine may be good but we wont know yet
2. More power, more torque - will notice in highway not in city
3. 16" 195/55 wheels - Trust me, it makes a diff with potholes and grip
Daily practicality
4. 50L more boot space
5. 360 camera
6. Auto-dimming rear view mirror - Auto car made a mistake. swift doesnt have it
7. Centre arm rest
Kinda nice to have
7. Universally liked looks - front and back
8. Heads up display
9. Slightly better looking dash and interiors
what Swift has over Baleno is
1. Mileage - apparently. Depends on driving style.
2. wireless charger - I personally never use one
2005 - enthusiasts buying Swift 🔥, uncles buying Wagon R.
2024- uncles buying new Swift 🤡, enthusiasts buying Wagon R 1.2 zxi.
🤣🤣🤣🤣still an appealing proposition.
there is always ignis to the rescue
🔥
Just get a Fronx Turbo
While I acknowledge the iconic status of the Maruti Swift, I was surprised to find it reviewed by none other than Mr. Gavin D'Souza, a motoring authority and personal favorite at AutoCarIndia. I hope to see him take the wheel of more vehicles in the future. Unfortunately, I find the reviews by other presenters, aside from Mr. D'Souza, Nikhil bro and Ms. Renuka, to lack dynamism and can, at times, be tedious.
Stop sucking up dude. Nikhil and Renuka are also very good and they know what they're doing. Don't discredit others
@@venukrithish007I don't think you understand what he's saying.
Read carefully and you'll see what he says is apart from Renuka, Gavin and Nikhil, the rest don't have the dynamism in their reviews
Yes! Except the three reviewers, others are…you know, a little boring.
@@abhishek6704 Yeah yeah I mean they're equally good. In fact I find the product interesting or tedious, not the reviewers.
@@venukrithish007 Man read the mans comment! He has been most respectful and honest in what he said. You on the other hand just jumped to a conclusion 😂😂😂😂 READ THE COMMENT.....READ THE COMMENT!!!!
Thinner tyres, thinner engine, stiffer suspension, hard plastics. Except the design and improved mileage, this version of swift is just terrible!
The only drawback of Maruti is it's build quality, improving that should be of utmost priority, rather than infusing gimmicks such as the HOD, sunroof etc.
100% agree 👍
Build quality is great dont confuse it with safety
@@cineenthusiast1234 build quality is also poor dude. So many rattles, poor quality of parts around AC vents, panels flex a lot, no attention to detail, etc. Though, their paint quality is good, door thud sound is better in the latest models, also the dashboard is quite solidly put together in the new ones. This is coming from a 2023 Baleno Alpha owner.
Some one speaking the truth
@@peanutbutterjelly1368 I've been using my 2014 Swift without any issues; there's nothing like what you're describing. Don't just follow the crowd blindly, bro.
I really like the new design 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi Autocar team, at 7:55 in the features list. I think this new Swift doesn't offer auto dimming rear view mirror. Kindly have a look and update please.
Was waiting for Autocar test drive ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
15:36 Sound 🤤
Yeah of course now maruti suzuki fanbois will like 3 Cylinder engines 😂
1L TSI from VW UP! Used in polo was engine of the year for 3 years straight and not one maruti guy said its agood engine. 😂Typical Maruti Suzuki fanbois😅
@@shree397If it was so good then I see no reason for vw to discontinue that polo🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good to hear that this generation has better handling and stearing feel then the third generation
Power windows switches are from OG Swift(2004)
No Swift looked as stylish as the second generation one .that was out and out class and bulky...king of the road...
It looks very good. People hating on new design for no reason 😐 Actually any new car comes out there will be only negative comments in the comment section. Everyone thinks cars in their generation were the best looking and the new gen is always the worst
no this swift looks like pressure cooker from front and alto from back. absolutely worst looking car ever🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s a common human psychology trait- resistance to change.
It's inching closer to Mini Cooper on looks. To service in the tough competition in India, Swift needs to tougher to match the competition! We need a Global car in terms of Safety! Fingers are crossed...!
I think 800 cc with 3 cylinder turbo engine with shared features, with the beautiful safety features will definitely perform better with higher price
Gen 1 the Swift Buyer didn't know what " Internet" was but now they do. Can we have a Swift which is at Par with European Specs
Gavin is like an old wine...old and solid..always a fan of your reviews man
First-gen Swift was a driver's delight. I still long for mine. And my wife, who was my girlfriend back then, still claims it was a four-wheeled rocket. 🚀
she’s a keeper bruv
Not a relevant comment- Tata Nexon for the first time in so many months has been knocked out of the list of top 10 selling cars in April’24.
It is high time that Tata motors take the Indian market seriously. The QA/QC issues, pathetic after sales service and its incapability to develop a proper diesel or petrol engines are some of the reasons why the consumers are shifting in huge % to other manufacturers.
Harrier and Safari are completely gone cases as no one in their sane mind will buy a vehicle to park it in service centre.
It’s quite a pity that they do not seem to learn or maybe even care.
You are right!! Harrier and Safari are like dream cars to many including me, but I feel very sad when I come across frustrated ownership experiences of buyers, many of whose cars broke down the very next day of purchase...😭
But can it handle Splendor coming in from the opposite direction.
Is it worth spending extra bucks to get the Fronx Zeta Boosterjet?
Will this slim tyres be stable and planted ?
An outside question. The registration number on the number plate doesn't look like a regular one. Can anyone explain why?
Ig it’s temporary number plate
we need a podcast series but only with Gavin speaking all the time.
Gavin one quick question Swift AMT or Fronx Turbo AMT which one to pick for considering the price gap of 3.50 lacs top model
Fronx turbo is not with AMT. It has torque converter (TC) which is a pure automatic.
TC will give lower mileage & combined with the turbo engine would be a lot less efficient than the lighter smaller swift with frugal engine
@@crococrash which one to opt please advise
@@gouravbose8105 Fronx Automatic is TC which is wayy superior to any AMT out there. I say go with the Fronx Automatic, you won't regret it for sure.
Swift - if you are mileage conscious
Fronx - if you don't consider much on mileage
@@sidduhc Thanks Bro how about X3O V$ Fronx
Which colour is best
I think the front is an amalgamation of two seperate design languages. One is till bonnet and the other is the front fascia component.
Can we expect a swift with the 1 litre boosterjet engine?
8:14 14:47 auto dimming rear view mirror???
I personally think 3 cylinder engines sound better than 4 cylinder ones. Like a mini porsche
I test drive the new shift with the help of my sales executive friend actually i felt better than the old generation Swift its fun on traffic and for highways as well
would be nicer if you can showcase both old and new model vehicles keeping them side by side for distinguish comparison.
Covered all specs well! Love the manual blue!
While I hope they upgrade the ignis too but a comparison with ignis would be something worth a wait from autocar
Ritz should return.
As an additioinal variant, maruti should provide a muscle style puffed up accessories so that the car looks muscular. I am sure the new generation will love it. The one which looks like a modified one but looks more punchy.
big miss on the booster jet engine for the swift
Happy to find APSRTC in background. May we know where was this captured?

the bonnet is like the sebring that michael scott drives in the office. ugy af
CORRECTION: 7:55 Swift doesnt get auto dimming rear view mirror. Source: Swift product brochure from maruti suzuki site.
I just remembered Renuka mam also did the review of 2nd gen swift with the same colour combo petrol and diesel 😅
Swift sport with fronx turbo petrol engine please
when will be tata tiago facelift comes in
i still have a zxi+ BS-6 since 2019, took a test drive of the new one but i still think old one is better in term of looks and driving
After a long time, I have liked the exterior looks of a car so much, even though I prefer to buy the one that has good interior over exterior which is what we will live with 99% of the time.
Don’t know why you say we don’t have iconic cars in the Indian market. I don’t agree.
Maruti 800, Gypsy, Alto, Skoda Octavia, Ambassador, Fiat, Contessa, Standard 2000, Mahindra Jeep, Thar, Ford Ikon, Skoda Octavia, Laura, Yeti, VW Polo, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda City 1.6 VTEC, Mitsubishi Lancer GLX, Pajero, Toyota Corolla, Qualis, Chevrolet Optra SRV, and the list goes on and on.
broo it's a shame that they did the swift so dirty, literally everyone (on social media) likes the last gen more! the only upside to this is that my 2019 Swift RS 1.0L Turbo will last longer!
and my next car is going to be a 2023 Swift Sport which I will keep for atleast 5-6 years until they release a (hopefully) next gen better looking car xD
Everything is improved except safety rating which is unknown until crash tests happen. Once, we get the same specs as the Japanese ones. I think we will get good scores in GNCAP ratings as well. Keeping fingers crossed for the same.
bncap might give 4 star or some fancy shit but same Indian model won't even get 1-2 in other euro or Asean ncap (I also hope for good rating though)
Reviving swift, a proper hatchback will prove to be a checkmate by maruti to other car makers who are just rampant on just increasing heights of their hatchbacks to call it an suv ignoring car driving dynamics altogether...
That looks 🔥. Swift feels hotter than ever
Gavin bhai coming in clutch with all that travel belly
I wish they bring back the 1.3 Multijet
BS6+ sez NO!
Diesel is banned in Swift cars and earlier they procured from fiat, now there is no choice as Fiat out from India.
Bonnet design too divisive, last generation looks better some how but to each their own
what's the weight of this car? The video showed that there was little body roll, so I am guessing weight is less, that's how the can give a good mileage. Which in turn, makes me question the safety even more
16:06 to 16:18 ford fans will hear that again!
Nice look and My Favourite car
NCAP rating ?
-4 star
Good Safety numbers are a critical requirement. Else, now, in light of the punch etc, this may be a so so seller.
yes the brand new maruti suzuki messarati looks so nice
Blue is looking really beautiful.
When I was expecting Suzuki Swift Sport this 3 Cylinder comes in, at least a 4cyl hybrid should have been on offer. There is no 16 inch wheels, Sunroof or even ventilated seats for 10 lakh car. One star rating does not help either.
Analog gauges is not a negative!
Friend of mine ordered it, says now it's a 5 star rated car.
I'm like, bro Japan and India version different. But he doesn't listen 😮
8:12 I don’t think swift comes with auto dimming rear view mirror.
Because it is a Suzuki engine, 3 cylinders isn't a big deal. All safety features are also good. If Swift scores 4 stars in BNCAP, it is gona be a big hit.
The bonnet make me miss the AStar😊
It does looks like a new model, its looks like a facelifted version inspired by Marutis older model Astar.
Looks cool, great
Car looks very much delicate. Just a touch and it looks some major accident has happened Ed. Car design, mileage and maintenance is worth appreciating.
But what about Car delicate built quality. Major concern
Blue colour is dope
I wish fiat had followed the same path of "revolution" with Grande Punto .. fiat ruined their own fortune in India
It's front looks a like- A star
They've taken a fairly good looking car and managing to turn it into this awkward looker! Especially the bonnet design!
Maruti should give an option for 1.0 litre turbo boost engine
Sir Citroen c3 best in class
New swift best car & my dream car
Looks like nandhi hills at Bengaluru
hey it is 3cyd engin and bhp has been dropped
The front looks like the european version of ford focus
Citroen c3 best in suspensions comfort zone 😊
Without focusing mileage more than 20 km should add strong chassis and better build quality. Life is more important than mileage. They are selling the same cars with high quality in Europe and Japan but selling tin can in India. They think Indians are only concerned about mileage. Like Samsung giving Snapdragon processor to the USA and Europe and cheap Exynos, Mediatek to third countries including India. The same cheap marketing can be found in selling food items too. Gov. must ban these types of marketing racism.
