- After installing an aftermarket android stereo I decided why not ad a backup camera as well as my car already came with parking sensors and always showed a display whenever I would go into reverse sp I got a camera and decided to install it on the X1.

You connected it to the brake light, not the reverse light. How does the system know how to put the camera on when the car is in reverse?
@@donkskiify the stereo wire that I connected to the red wire provides power the camera that turns it on... Also the car automatically switches to reverse camera when you put the car in reverse notice at the beginning even with no camera it was doing that already.
@@LoniVlogZ My camera only has a power cable that attaches to the reverse light power. Any suggestions on the connection?
@@donkskiify you can extend the wire run it threw the grommet where the other wires are and run it down to the back on the inside where the reverse light is and splice on to the power wire there.

Did you connect the red power wire to the reverse taillight? If so what color was the power on the x1 reverse wiring?
I did connect it...it's mentioned in the video where I connected everything

Did you ever figure out how to have the camera view raised? Just got mine installed and my view looks like yours. Would be perfect if the image were raised.
You could add some double sided tabe to the back end of the camera
I just use it to see what's behind me not for parking
I hooked mine up and all I’m getting is a pink and green screen. Any ideas?

hi, i need help in installing reverse camer in my x1.. could you please help? we can connect over a video call, i have already got the camera installed however its not displaying, may be because of cross connection
Are you connecting to an aftermarket screen or an oem one?

I habe an x4 how to open it from the back I mean what tools are required
I am not sure what the x4 has back there but most likely has a couple torx screws (most likely t30-t35) and the rest of it will be clips that you just have to pull to get the panel out. The screws will most likely be in a similar location as it is on the x1. I would suggest getting a torx bit set as it will always come in handy when working on German cars

I don't think cameras with a 170 degree viewing angle are the right choice. I have the same camera installed on the trunk handle of a bmw f 25 and I am not happy with the view. The camera view is too down and too close and the wide angle is quite confusing. I think normal cameras provide a much better and natural view, at least that's how it was on my former car, a BMW E90. That's some of my experience.

I am not sure what you mean. But you can use GPS with your phone connected for both android and iPhones
@@LoniVlogZ i read with itber users that now their system doesnt show the car info and doesnt update automatically as when you have it factory installed

it's a pity for the video, your sound is bad, you can barely hear what you're talking about, because of the music. part of the recording when connecting the wire is totally blurry, no use from the video, you didn't help much
Or as I said in the video you could ask if anything isn't clear..... just like other people have done.
