Eval ride! Bumped to Intermediate my 2nd day at Barber Motorsports Park 8/13/23 STT Novice Session 5

In order to "graduate" from Novice to Intermediate or Intermediate to Advanced, you have to do an evaluation ride where an instructor follows you during a full session. In a nutshell for those of you looking to get bumped; you have to show that you can maintain an accelerated pace, consistency in race lines, predictable movements, and probably most importantly, patience and courtesy when approaching/passing slower riders. They're not looking for you to set the fastest lap! Regardless, we got hung up several times (very common in novice) so we weren't able to do a clean lap anyway. The two things the instructor said I needed to work on was braking later and accelerating earlier. Guess I'm still a bit cautious from that wreck back in June haha Looking forward to riding with the big boys next go around this weekend!
11:15 Classic example of 1000cc rider parking it in a corner. Nearly collided with him after he panic braked to a very low speed and suddenly cut inside. I was focusing on him which caused me to run wide as well. Just goes to show how fast things can go wrong when you're unpredictable at the track. Funnily enough, he hit the pits the moment a few drops of rain hit our helmets.
14:41 This kid on another CBR600RR was stupid fast and managed to not only catch up but even passed us after it began to rain a bit! Naturally, he got bumped. His 2nd day at Barber too!
**Unfortunately, the telemetry from my X3 turned out to be a garbled mess so I had to pull the gyro/accel data from my phone which is a lot less accurate. Lean angle, accelerometer, lap times and track location are gonna be a little weird in this video but not like anyone will notice xD

🤣 Someone just said something similar on another video. I'm actually 32. Resting HR is around 65 or so but on the bike I'm like a little kid at the playground haha the adrenaline rush is wild.
