Respect for making this and your decision to retire from racing. Not many people could ever go from 31st to 1st in a National Superstock race - one of the toughest championships there is. Good luck for what comes next.

He is a carbon copy of another racer on 4 wheels Billy Monger. Amazing kid who lost his racing legs on track & went into F1 as a pundit in late teens & like Taylor just talks & talks with ease on their sport. Don't worry Taylor it's a fine line between you and your brother racing. He will be a champion & could do good on Moto GP. At least no more wacking the tarmac. Bike riders are tough.

    What a Legend!
This is the kinda guy you want to go to the pub, on a Sunday to chat sh*t and eat food with! Plenty of motorsport knowledge and experience, knows a few people, humble, honest and genuine!
I don’t have many REAL mates in life, but I hope future friends are even a 1/8th of the guy this lad is! Well done ‘TMac’ you’ve put on a hell of a show over the years and bowed out gracefully!
I think you’ll go from strength to strength via UA-cam and other related media platforms. ✌️

As a motorcycle enthusiast I’ve just watched and listened to your story. There is a massive gap between our ages (I’m 73) and our careers couldn’t be further apart but the symptoms, the mind set, the stresses we both suffered are identical right up to the years and years of eating disorders. If experience can help you I can say you have probably made the most sensible and rational decision of your life as you have confronted the problem head on and dealt with it. The only way for you young man is up from now on! 👏👏👏

This will end up being one of the best decisions you have ever made. I got what I wanted when I was 22 and spent the next 7 years of my life regretting it. I didn't give up, but it was taken away from me. I thought it was the worst thing ever... now 30 years later I look back at that as the best thing that could have happened.
With your work ethic, personality, and joy for life, you can do anything you want and you will be great at it. I look forward to following your journey on youtube!

Had a little tiny bit to do with you and your brother looking after your lids and gear at a few rounds back in 2010, there was no “rock star” BS, just a pair of sound lads that were always laughing, always polite, and a pleasure to deal with. Always cheered you both on since then, and will continue to do so whatever you choose to do. Never change Taylor, nicest family in the paddock. 👍🏻

It was awesome that you got to go out with a bang, couldn't have happened to a nicer lad.

Couldn't agree more. I worked with an F3 team and helped take them to the title this year, before going back to uni in September. No one realises how straining each race is mentally and physically. The race weekend usually starts 3 or 4 days before the weekend and doesn't stop till at least a day later. A 3 day event can so easily add up to be 7 or 8.

Me as an ex rider, and bike racing fan, generally only see what tv shows us, the highs and the lows, but none of the struggle behind the scenes. It’s a tough life in the racing world. I only ever completed at club level but like you it made me ill without realising it. Worry, stress, money, tyres, bike……. Your time sheet made me laugh. I also have a time sheet I keep. It’s an emra club meet with you on the top, With a host of other top guys you came to in 2017.
I keep that one in my race folder.
All I did for 15 years was race bikes. 2017 after I qualified pole at mallory in the open class in the wet I finished 2nd behind Lee Wilson.
Come the afternoon I was in 6th or 7th after the dry weather came back using old scrubs while the front runner were on new rubber.
After that race I got off the bike and called it a day.
I’m now a lot happier and started my own business. I miss racing but I definitely don’t miss the life that comes with it
    Best of luck to you

You're not a quitter, Taylor, just moving on to the next chapter in your life. When I left school I joined the RAF. Always my ambition. I left the RAF and spent several years in car and bike sales, got fed up of that rat race and for the last 17 years I've been a Registered Nurse! How diverse. I'm sure whatever you do next you'll be a success. Good luck to you, dude.

I know of a Premiership footballer who sees it as a job, doesn’t enjoy it one bit. He stopped playing. But unlike a professional motorbike rider, he doesn’t risk his life each weekend, doesn’t have the terrible injuries you guys have and I have nothing but admiration for your honest video and helping us see what it’s really like and what you’ve dealt with all those years you were growing up. You’ve nothing to prove to anyone, we know you can race, we know you were a winner, now go enjoy whatever you want to do and be happy and healthy 👍

Motorcycle racing as a career would just be insane. A lot of risk for very little reward until you’re at least at the top of a national series. After racing in a regional club series here in the US for a couple of seasons, I realized very quickly that racing motorcycles is fun, but the insane amount of expense and work that is required to make it happen is immense, and that was just the club level. Literally every piece of the puzzle must fit just right to even have a chance of advancing. Good luck in your future endeavors.

We don’t see the struggle and what goes on in the background within motorsport. I thought why when the results this year were so good. Now I totally understand, we are only here once and you have put yourself through so much and need to be happy with what you choose to do. All the very best for the future.
This totally frank video is a credit to your character . All the very best for your future career path.

You took it to the limit. You gave it all you had, mentally and physically. That is not quitting. Good on you for having the self awareness to understand that you had taken it as far as you could mentally. You have to be honest with yourself before. You can be honest with others. You are and always will be a racer. Onward to the next phase.

Racers can relate exactly to what you have been through and it is difficult to grasp that there are adventures off the track until you step away. Snakes and ladders, a great analogy. There is nothing quite like the thrill of racing, more low's than highs, it is a drug, a driving force that does raise anxiety levels. Great video Taylor and we shall continue to follow your exploits.

At one point in my life I was a professional level FPS player. I devoted my whole life to being as good as possible, much like you. I put everything in life on hold because that was my main focus and nothing else could replace it. Around my mid 20s it stopped being as fun. My drive, and skills began to slip, and I knew the end was near. I eventually put it down as my main focus around your age and only then did my life truly begin. I kept playing under different accounts to be anonymous which led to me befriending new people that didn't really know me. I started coaching and teaching younger players as a hobby. I started enjoying watching their progress more than I ever did when I was doing it on my own. I felt like I could finally share all of my tactics, tricks, and secrets that I used to keep to myself. When I was focused on my own progress I never wanted to give away information to the people around me because for all I knew I might be competing against them later. I was finally able to truly focus on other people and be 100% honest with them. It felt great.
About a year later I married my girlfriend that had waited around for me for over ten year, I got a regular job, and we had our first child soon after. At that point it finally clicked. I enjoy mentoring and helping other people more than anything else in life. Being a good father, husband, son, brother, and friend to all of those that supported me and helping as many people along the way is my new game.
You are young, you have so much to offer the world, you will do amazing things, and you will help a lot of people! I look forward to watching you succeed!

I wish you all the luck mate. Don't take this negatively, but along with your own career and charisma, you are part of the Mackenzie dynasty, and milk it mate. Those presenting jobs and ambassador jobs, could be given to anyone, but you have the talent, the wit, the charisma, the experience and the charm to make them your own. Watching you celebrate with Taz this weekend was heart warming and a little sad at the same time. But for me showed the world what a great human being you are.

We fans sometimes just look at the exciting racing and never have much of an idea of what pressure and commitment involved to race at this standard.
You have achieved much in your racing career and you should now look forward to achieving in different areas.

Good luck with everything going forward! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💪
