It's so crazy that you commented here, because I have loved wsw/wf for a long time, and I clicked on your channel to see if you had any content, but I realized I had already seen one of your videos. Oddly enough it was your climbing video, which likely popped in my feed because I climb. Haha, the internet can be a small place.
Something I think is funny is how the devs on the official warfork discord server are calling you their hero because of how you are making a large number of new players join.
Movement wise it basically looks like the best from Quake, Half-Life Deathmatch and Krunker mashed together to create a momentum heaven I'm all for it Great video btw
Theres a browser-turned -steam-release game called krunker which has added a lot of pretty cool movement mechanics over the years. When i checked it out in 2019 it was just crouching and jumping but over time they added sliding, slide hopping, shotgun jumping etc and conpletely turned it into a movement shooter with player drifting around the map like race cars
i've been playing krunker since 2017 or something and it's crazy how the game evolved from a browser shooter to play with frends to an actual game with rankins and skinbs and such good mechanics
Went to play WF expecting to see the same faces and instead its a bunch whole new ones :D Wonderful video thank you for shining a light on this hidden gem of a game
keep in mind that if you struggle with movement, there are also maps that let you focus on those mechanics so if you're not prepared to move around the map at mach 5, you can do maps that allow you to exercise these things
i hope there are also challenging custom maps for new and veteran players alike to practice movement, like the various jump maps the goal there would probably be to gain excessive amounts of speed to clear a large gap, with the challenge being doing it in a confined space, or to clear the map fast. reminds me of other platformers (like some expert/GM nyoom maps in celeste strawberry jam, but less limited since the movement tech there is technically jank)

Cool to see Warsow (the original name of this game) get some recognition in 2023/24. I love this game and played the crap out of it in 2006/7 when i was a kid. Every now and then ill hop back on and play the 1 shot gamemode since its my favourite. TLDR: There is a dash mechanic in this game. If you hold the dash button mid-air, at the moment of landing you will go to the direction you are facing (or if you press a direction button, then in that direction), and you keep all your speed. Based on the gameplay it works when touching vertical walls aswell. So basically the movement is the same as Krunker, just with rocketjump, and you can bounce off walls aswell.
