I’ve been doing to same thing after I blew up my 383, just have a junker in there I’m having problems after I rebuilt the carb it lean bogs unless you run pretty rich I’m putting my old 4 barrel intake on this weekend don’t be lazy folks
Why did you take of the heat adapter and where is the breather hose going? In the back of the carb? It would have been nice if youd actually video'd the process. BTW!!!!!
If you do this with make sure you fill the extra 2 barrel mounting holes with JB weld ... you may end up with a little hesitation off the line but most likely okay with the end result.
this is dumb I'm sure you know it was, I been doing fords for a long time, best thing you could have done is bought a chinese 2150 with the single stage power valve and slapped it on there
It is not the best way to go. I myself would not spend the cash on a old worn out fe360 200 hp gas hog . what's the most economical way to go . already have the carburetor? truck is going to a high school kid
@@realsteelmotorcars2894 $90 carburetor thats actually designed for these engines, trust me I've revived plenty of old worn FE's that guys thought were either never gonna run again or were destined for the scrap heap
Ya it is not the right thing to do. Better to replace the intake. Even better if you get rid of everything under the 4 barrel carburetor and go with a 390 with the intake to match . I put the carb on a worn out 360 It worked and the guy I did it for has been driving it for A couple of years. His other car is a prius.
it worked out good. I tried to get the owner to replace the intake manifold but he didn't want to dump the cash into a weak fe 360 at the same time why spend the money on a 2 barrel carburetor...So he did it this way for now. he is happy with it

I removed the heat plate do to carb linkage geometry and hooked up the pvc hose to the
back of the carb

If done right, the 4 barrel on 2 barrel intake can actually work very well. I'm about to do this same thing on a 400 in a '78 Bronco.
