I just purchased a 1972 Ford F250 Explorer. It will be a project for me. Found you guys on youtube. What a great find! Thanks for all the great videos. Please keep them going as I will look for inspiration and guidance.
Also...you could have used compressed air into the spark plug holes to remove and replace those old worn out yellow valve springs, valve stem seals and new keepers. I did on my 390. Now that would be a cool vid.
@@CJClassicTrucks I removed a 4bbl 352 cast iron intake from a 64 galaxie when I was like 14, that was one heck of a lift! definitely never forgot that one since.
And I tried using rtv by itself but the gap was too big. Used rtv and the cork gaskets. The trick is to use rtv on the china rail and on top of the cork to seal everything.
Hey since that carburetor is very similar to a holley, you can probably use holley p/n 20-41 which extends the factory kickdown linkage so it will work correct with a 4 barrel carb
@@Coronet_shop agreed. My wife for my birthday bought me a tunnel wedge intake, but it came with the whole car. For Christmas, I'll ask for a new set of rear tires.

I’m installing and edlebrock 650cfm carburetor on my 1971 Ford F-250, I am looking for a good power source to connect to the electric choke. Any tips would be appreciated!
Endurashine,=Edelbrock's worst finish ever. Slightest bit of coolant or fuel strips off the foil and reveals the ugly black blotch underneath. Stick with polished, it's last longer and look 1000X better . The instructions even say don't expose finish to coolant or fuel, the two fluids that pass through it constantly.
It’s to bad that edelbrock has mostly gone out of business. I ordered several things in the past months and they do take my money but don’t have a damn thing in stock

Video I’ve been hunting for!
Man...a new distributor, and new Edelbrock water pump would have complimented that in intake and carb
Had to laugh at the act like haulk and lift the 30 pound intake off. That FE cast iron ship anchor intake weighs something like 88 pounds!
i understand but lifting any big block cast iron intake out of an engine bay is not fun.
@@CJClassicTrucks If I ever have to remove another cast iron FE intake I'm just going to hook the engine hoist to it.
@@MattsRageFitGarage i would agree :) that would save a lot of back issues later on.

thank you for the tip
It would be really helpful to know what you did for the throttle linkage adaption, having trouble getting mine to line up correctly! Thank you!
FE Frickin Expensive.
Hey guys it's the season of giving. May I have that intake manifold please?

Great Video. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Where do those vacuum lines go? Do you need all three?
How long is the oil galley bolts
Do these parts also work on a 360?
yes they do

I bought this intake for a 1970 F250 4x4 highboy... Was it a dumb choice?
no the old school trucks are fun to work on
No. Unless you literally only ever use that truck for stump pulling under 1800rpm, the Eddy RPM intake is better than the regular performer intake.

70+ pounds not 30! the new intake is about 30 pounds! Use an engine lift, dont hurt your back!
