Hope everyone who reads this until the end has a very blessed day 🤗🙏🏼
I really like that advice and the input you both had. That is the kind of stuff kids need to hear for long term relationships. Coming from an old married women of 46 years and counting...
Yep. Kids nowadays just want to shack up while it's good - until it isn't. I wish Dave and Anthony were more famous and influential outside the financial advice realm
Considering that I am only three years away from retirement, it becomes challenging for me to solely concentrate on the long-term perspective. Despite having invested in reputable companies and having a significant amount of funds allocated, my profits have been stagnant. This situation raises the question: Does the current recession and unstable market offer any calculated risk opportunities for generating profits?
They basically aged into adulthood together... only they never really grew up. They both need good career, financial, and relationship guidance... but they have to first admit to the problems, and commit to actually applying the advice.
Yes, that question was a private question that has to be answered truthfully. That was a man to man question to ask with the girlfriend nowhere near the vicinity.

Guaranteed that money "she has access to" is her parent's money. BF wants to spend all that money in AZ, where the parents can't see her, and then leave her. He can't save $1000 living at home? Lol ok. These aren't adults these are overgrown toddlers
I can feel her hands sweating when Dave asked her the question and she couldn’t give a straight answer. She’s trying with him, but she probably wouldn’t miss him if he left for AZ
Excellent Part B, Anthony! My husband has had to do that twice during our 28-year marriage. 26 years old and living at home. That blows my mind. I got married and moved out at 18 in 1992. Both of my kids moved out as independent adults at 18. I can understand it more if they're 26, in college, and living at home. But jobless for 6-7 months, even during a pandemic (seriously, online jobs are plentiful), is ridiculous to me.
I laughed so hard when she said my boyfriend and i been together for 7 years and live with my parents.... hahahaha because Dave is no one to come at with that.
That was a very good answer. One of them goes out there and establishes themselves first. He's the one yet to prove himself due to not having paid his loan yet so this gives him a chance to do that.
“He works in a lab” I know Ph.D students being paid 36k as a STIPEND. There’s zero way he’s making that as a researcher. He’s probably doing minimum wage contract work that requires a hs diploma. Even at the bottom of the rung researchers make 40-50k, but in exchange they get intellectual freedom. This guy doesn’t sound like that.
He very well could be a "researcher" food and development isn't a lucrative buisness for researchers. And some researcher tend to be horrible with money because they are smarter then everyone else
@@Popcorn466 That’s not true at all. First to address the food industry thing, that’s just incorrect. I have friends who were in my chemical engineering program who went into research on food processing and are making 150k right now. Secondly, generally researchers are pretty good with money because they’ve been rationing it out their whole life- doing something they love instead of getting paid well. That’s a position I am going into. It doesn’t stop me from investing into my Roth and being safe with money.
My husband makes way more than that making countertops. That makes absolutely no sense, you basically working as a scientist and earning less than a waitress
Don't normally agree with Dave's old school advice, but he nailed this one. Loved Ben's advice. Man child will burn thru her money they will end up penniless and she will be living back with her parents broke by 29. Have a feeling her parents have a good read on this young man. My 19year old daughter's bf is one of the hardest working young men I have ever meet. I would have no hesitation with him and my daughter moving forward.
There situation raised some red flags to me about his commitment for debt and making a good living. Like Dave I really like the mentioned plan B. It also give time for them to work on the debt and realize how much they do or do not miss each other.

Agree agree agree.
AMEN! I feel this in my soul! The reason why people get involved in unhealthy or dysfunctional relationships is because they dont know how to form them or what they entail.

Nah. She was smart enough to call and not him. It seems she'll ultimately make the right decision, or get out of the hole before falling in too deep. 🙂
I'd like to think she gives him an ultimatum: pay off 10k worth of your debt and line up a job, then we can move together. Obviously moving without a job and no savings, he expects her to support him until he (maybe) gets a job in AZ. I would hope she puts a challenge to him, to show her that's not his expectation of their lives together
“Careening” is such a good word choice. This call was 😬😬😬

He won't even use it to pay off his debt. He'll outright blow it all - and then dump her because she's a bitch for being upset about it.
They're going to move to AZ with absolutely no plan thinking they're rich with their little $40k, and then come back to mommy and daddy after 9 months when they burn through their savings.
Bingo! That was def their original plan. $40k seems like a lot when you’ve never paid for basic life essentials. Without jobs you will CRUISE through that money just paying for rent food and stupid stuff like paper towels, toilet paper, soap, cooking supplies. Not even including whatever his payments are on $60k debt, but I would bet that’s at least $600-$900 a month...

Excellent Part B, Anthony! My husband has had to do that twice during our 28-year marriage.
26 years old and living at home. That blows my mind. I got married and moved out at 18 in 1992. Both of my kids moved out as independent adults at 18. That was a very good answer. One of them goes out there and establishes themselves first. He's the one yet to prove himself due to not having paid his loan yet so this gives him a chance to do that.
“He works in a lab”
I know Ph.D students being paid 36k as a STIPEND.
