Wayne-- treat your 3 children the same way. Don’t let your wife make you treat your own daughter differently. Your daughter and sons are your blood. Your wife is going to try to take care of her sons all her life. She will always marginalize your daughter. You should honor the good soul of your daughter even if your daughter is not perfect. Are your sons perfect? John is so right about this situation. I worry for your daughter in this situation with your wife. Don’t use money to punish your daughter

What a great rep[y, how true, I took care of my sons for too long, and it has turned out okay but I should have done it sooner. They blossomed and grew and I focused on my health and myself. It was worth it. You do them no favors if you wait to long.

This idiot didn’t even say what his daughter was doing right or wrong only if she leads a non churchgoing life she’s out of the will. Excuse me sir. You are having multiple children with different women. In the eyes of God you are still married to wife number 1. So let he without sin cast the first stone.

I doubt the man who called about the inheritance for his daughter will read this, but if you want to permanently hurt your daughter, manipulate her with inheritance. I don't know why you would sit her down at 24 and tell her she won't inherit anything if she doesn't live "according to the Bible" which can have so many different meanings for so many different people. And shame on your second wife wanting to cut out your biological daughter. Your wife doesn't sound like the "god-fearing" Christian that you describe her as. My worst fear would be something happening to me and my husband remarrying someone cruel like your new wife who would want to be mean to my daughter. I don't usually leave comments for strangers on the internet, but Ramsay got this one wrong.

As a dad of two, my goal is to be in my kid's lives and guide them into adulthood. Inheritance and solid relationship are two different things.
Inheritance is what is given when you die. Each year you have to consider who will take care of your kids, funeral, and estate. Also who will be executor over it all.
Solid relationship is what you get after healing whatever hurts may be present or simply guiding your children into a position of equal standing. You may need to get together with your adult children and do things together in order to build greater trust.
Deciding what charitable work your money may do at the end of it all comes a long way after providing for your family and building solid relationships. To be fair to Dave, I think he already did a good job of providing for his kids and developing their relationship to the point where they can communicate as equals. 2 His advice was still solid: don't use a future Inheritance as a carrot to get what you want.

Paying down my mortgage ahead of time paid dividends when interest rates shot up a few years ago, as my mortgage payment did not soar with the extra interest because the principal balance was fairly low. I am now down to just over 6k principal, so interest is under £30. I am looking forward to being mortgage free sometime in late 2025, maybe even sooner if I can get some extra cash from somewhere. Definately worth it. Even now if I had to row back, my payments would be very low.

Chloe’s husband is probably going through what so many jobseekers go through these days. Jobs that pay over $15 an hour require 5 interviews and have 200 applicants.
But too bad, if you can’t get the job you want, you have to settle for something that puts food on the table. There’s no shame in being employed, even if it is throwing boxes or flipping burgers. It’s hard for all of us right now. I’m not even in the USA, and it’s the same in my country. But you know who’s hiring? The grocery stores and labour agencies. Swallow your pride and do your duty as a husband.

When my husband and I met we were both divorced. After falling in love and deciding to marry we needed to do major money budgeting and a reset. My husband had been married for 21 years and raised two children and then he lost everything else in his divorce. He had debts to pay off and he had no retirement savings accrued at age 50. In order to start our two lives over together AND build his retirement fund, we had to live on $23,000 per year (in 1986.) My small, modest home and my vehicle were paid off and I had a $21,000 salary coming in, a freezer full of food and no debts. We used his entire annual salary to pay off his debts. To do that we had to scale down to the very basics of spending for extreme need only. This meant no dates nights that cost money, no diamond in my ring, no honeymoon and a second job at night to earn cash for our simple wedding. Yes, it was very hard five years sacrifice but it was worth it in the end.

My husband and I are debt-free, with no mortgage. We have several hundred thousand in our home and money in the bank. I want to sell our house and downsize. but I can not get him to agree because he won't give up his "stuff". I know in a few years he will be very sorry, he will work forever and we could save so much more. It is so frustrating to try to get him to see the light. We need a small home and yard to care for and we only have 750.00 total monthly expenses now, but in the long term if we keep the house we will have major expenses and the house will only depreciate. We have been in this house for over 30 years and I know he hates change but sometimes you can stay in a home and neighborhood hood too long and things go downward. Get out now while we can.

Why is Deloney always pushing divorce?? Are you done, you don't like his side hustle, telling women they deserve better.. you have 5 minutes to get the scope of someone's life, dude. There is no real picture available, nor true sense of wisdom and honor, nor real pursuit of aid available in Delenoy's protestant woman-selflove campaign every time he speaks.
Love Dave's show from a pragmatic perspective. Marriage is for life. There is no wisdom that Dave preaches financially that also incorporates itself into anything Deloney says. Actually creates more problems, way more problems.

It’s funny to me how Mr. Ramsey has said the show does better when he’s not hosting, & I can’t help but think it’s very obvious that it’s due to his crassness. He was borderline rude to the first caller & should have been more gentle & gracious

    *NEEDING ADVICE*
I am a single mom of 2 kids. I just got divorce from a 10 year abusive marriage. Out of the divorce I got the run down work car. Needs thousands of dollars in repairs, been in multiple wrecks, no ac, and has 260,000 miles on it. I do have some charged off bad debt and 9000 in student loans. I know the rule of thumb is pay the debt. But I don’t think this car is going to make it much longer. I have my 1000 emergency fund. I don’t know if I should keep paying monthly payments on my student loans, leave the charged off accounts alone for now and massively save to be prepared to buy a new car when this one gives out. Or stay focused on paying off the student loans and charged off bad debt and hope for the best??? I don’t have anyone to help me find a car or make sure I’m making a good choice. So I just really scared I’m gonna get caught off guard and have to end up getting into car debt as well. I need something reliable for me and my children… any advice out there?

I am 23 and have 60k in a vanguard money market acct that yields 5.4%. I would like to buy a duplex in 16 months and will have about 100k for a down payment. Is this a bad decision? I would go into 230-240k in debt. Also, is there somewhere else I should park my money to get a higher return for the next 16 months.

Good morning to all I always try to stay positive yet real in my experiences with Ramsey I called yesterday actually I called last week and I got a return call yesterday which was Monday from an ELP. My question was quite simple straightforward to the point. No no questions. Very basic simple question I asked do you guys charge any fees whatsoever to use the LP people for their advice for all their services and so forth they said yes… My only beef was this. I have never heard on the podcast on the programs on the TV etc. Dave Ramsey ever say anything about fees and LP’s… Out.

An hour and a half show and 6 calls. That's sad. That's why I'll never watch live. 6 calls should be 30-40 minutes. You should be doing 15-18 calls for a 90 min. show.

Well, there were a couple of debt free screams, a BUNCH of ads, and a lot of host chitchat to go along with those six calls. Look at it as a blessing. Since you don't watch it live, you can fast forward through all the other stuff, and then you have way more time for other things (a side hustle, perhaps?).

Why is this episode of The Ramsey Show consistently being "viewed" by thousands each day, weeks after it debuted? Just this one particular episode keeps increasing in viewership by thousands over each day. No other episode, just this one. Hmmm. . . Could it be so it looks like an even bigger drop off in viewership between this episode and the following day's episode??? Interesting.

I’m a self proclaimed godless heathen and I’ll still agree with Dave. Her parents don’t owe her anything. She can build her own wealth living her own way is that’s what she wants to do. Trying to make up for being a bad parent with money is terrible idea. She’s an adult she can get adult help and figure out her own life.
