Wolf and mixed 45 auto ammo that gives me a little shiver

  • Cleaning my gun room and organizing some when I ran across these 2 boxes of steel cased 45 auto ammo in lead and brass.
Have no idea where I got them but I’ve had both for some time. They were in a section of ammo that I was buying whatever I’d find because there weren’t any around but I never buy reloads and can’t see me picking these up at a gun show.
Not feeling it with these two boxes. The options I have are shoot them all and pretend I’ve gone back in time to a day when ammo dumps were normal or, toss them in a strip pit where I know it’s at least 300 feet deep.
What say ye young ladies and gentlemen

Sorry about the voice and the sniffs. It's embarrassing.

Voice better today but I know it's annoying. Retiring fully soon. Dang it seems like yesterday I started working.
Regardless, like that old plow mule, no matter how many times I head to the barn to get hitched up, like I have every day of my adult life, there's just no more plowing to do. And like that old mule, I'll miss the plow.

I've had some with the bulge from seating but they passed the plunk test in the barrel, and the fed and fired fine but they were loaded by me so there's my opinion

that bulge just does not seem good as I would put them to the side for sure....Some reloaders would be able to help you on that....Nice share....Good stuff....

I figure i bought these during the time when you couldn't find any ammo and the Gov Fed's were close to having the votes to kill 2a. It's the only thing I can think of as I was buying every round I could get my hands on including all powers and primers. They've been hiding in back of my stockpile for some time. They were under some 1000 round primers I had stacked on them. Mostly my ammo is in rotation. If I'm going to shoot a bunch of 9mm blazer, I'll buy a bunch of 9mm blazer to put in the rear of the current stock. OCD works sometimes.
I put them under high magnification and didn't see any cracks but the bulge, that you can't feel or really see unless you have you phone on zoom. It was digging on me like a tick. That's ok. I've been wanting to go fishing anyway. I know how deep this one place is in the strip pit I like to fish because I tried to dive it when I was in college. Almost zero viz but could see the steep grade. Way too deep to dive so bro and I dropped a led weight from an old window with a string we had marked out for feet. We kept tying more and more line as each one had reached it's limit and stopped at 300 feet because we didn't have anymore string. Neither did the store and when we tried to bring it up, the thick string broke. So it's at least 100 yds. Perfect place for this and other things. You know pretty boy floyd hung around this area (my dad met him playing poker at a still and Bonnie and Clyde killed two deputies just a few miles away.
Not sure why I added all that but I guess it's just one of the things about living in Outlaw Country
