You say you love your audio interface because you can activate direct monitoring. Maybe you know this, but you can also do that from the Kemper and record without latency even before they release the driver. And yes, the manual is clear that there will be asio driver for windows: "A proprietary KEMPER ASIO driver is under development and will be released alongside a future Rig Manager revision."
As opposed to me you're able to read. 🙂 For the video I used my studio monitors which are connected to my regular interface. That's why the direct monitoring from the KPA didn't work. And yes, KPA stated in their addendum that drivers will be released. Thanks for clearing that up Richi! 😘
Call me crazy, but I loaded a neural dsp plugin through my daw to see if I can use that to listen through my kemper headphones using the space feature! But it sounded terrible I prob did something wrong with the inputs? 🤷🏻♂️

I plug it all in and still nothing... kemper toaster updated settings for output? reaper settings? and connections explaination? using windows and downloaded ASIO4ALL, still nothing. would be cool to see someone post a painfully simple walkthrough
Great video! Has Kemper dropped an ASIO driver yet? I've been searching high and low but haven't found anything concrete so far. If they haven't, what's the best alternative out there?
Hi! Adam Hall T7V. I do not use cabs with my Kemper that often but I guess the ones coming from Kemper should work best! When I use a cab it's a Marshall 4x12 with G12T-75.
Thanks for this upload. I'm struggling to get Kemper USB recording to work in Windows 11, latest Rig Manager and Kemper firmware, using Cakewalk DAW (Bandlab). Should I be able to set Cakewalk's driver mode to WDM/KS or do I need to use ASIO4ALL? My speakers are Behringer MS20's connected directly to the PC - I'd like to use these as the output...possible? (I normally select 'Speakers (Realtek USB Audio)' for Windows to make them active playback). I do have an audio interface that is working with the Kemper and that I normally use, but I'm keen to see how Kemper's new USB recording works (bypassing the need to connect to the interface).
Hey man! Kemper becomes your USB audio interface. I'm not sure about Cakewalk (not familiar with it). Check the latest manual pages 32-35. It's explained super easy and detailed. 🤘❤️
@@CarstenStepanowicz Thanks bud. Had another look at the manual and it does look like ASIO4ALL is a must for Windows when using the Kemper USB route...page 141. Pages 32-35 is all aboot the units knobs. Hopefully they release a proper ASIO driver soon. Cheers anyway.
Really? It should be the other way around 😂. At least that's the common opinion. (Personally I don't hear any difference that would be worth mentioning).
@@CarstenStepanowicz I have 2 audio interfaces here. one M Audio Fast Track pro and the Volt 276. at the same bitrate they sound almost the same only the latency is different. when I convert a FLAC file into an Mp3 I hear the loss of information. Hi! I'm also happy with my setup and for us there's absolutely no need to change anything. BUT the whole USB-recording thing has been a huge topic for many. That's why I guess this might be a huge game changer for Kemper. Have fun! 🤟❤
Hey Carsten! Thanks for this video! I also have UR44 and I noticed that sound from Kemper (headphones directly) is very different compared to Kamper direct output to UR44 (gain channel to zero) and to headphones. DspMixFx does not have any effects, but somewhat the sound is closer to Kemper when this solution has effects button on, but no effects activated. Am I doing something wrong? Have you noticed the same? Cheers!
Hi there! I haven't tried it with the DSPMixFx but this is a classic phenomena many folks have reported. The preamp of Kemper's headphone jack is really high quality. It will sound a bit duller when listening through the audio interface. But the difference is so subtle, I stopped bothering about it. 😅
I couldn’t hear much difference from my side, but obviously, you are hearing your monitors. I will have to see how this will work with Reaper, and if I have to download that ASIO for All. I hope I don’t get latency issues, otherwise I can just as well stay with SPDIF. Thanks for the tips.
Hi Jim, just got my reaper set up, you do need ASIO4ALL. Did finally get reamping working as well via the USB. This is going to be so much fun, come on Cristoph bring those drivers!

Hi bro! You can leave the Main Out at "Master Stereo" and listen to your signal including effects. For recording the dry signal you use the Direct Output and switch it to "Stack". Hope this helps. 🙂
I'm trying out the new Kemper usb audio feature, seems to be working well on all points except I'm getting crackling noise from my studio monitors. This doesn't occur when using my regular audio interface. I've noticed that this doesn't occur when using the Kemper output Stack setting, only Master Stereo or Mod Stereo, so the crackling appears to be linked to stereo in some way... What am I doing wrong? Any settings I'm missing somewhere? Kemper --> Reaper --> KRK Classic 5
@@erikhelkimo That is weird indeed. I don't think you're missing something. It should be plug and play with mac. Have you checked the signal, maybe it's too much output? Another USB cable you could try?
@@CarstenStepanowicz Managed to sort the crackling out by muting the track in the DAW and monitoring directly from the Kemper. This works well during recording or just playing around. However, the crackling reappears once the track is unmuted and I want to listen back to the recording. The issue must be somewhere in the PC or DAW, but changing sample rate or block size in the DAW doesn't seem to make any difference. Only thing left is to buy a new USB cable...
