Loving the Saab vids, Im looking at spacers for my 93 Aero and seeing how good they look on yours im def gonna purchase a set. Although my standard Aero wheels wont look half as good as yours. Keep the content coming ;-)
I'm sure you're aero will look just as good! Thank for watching and more vids to come!!
Thanks for this video, I'm going to do this upgrade on my 2006.
wow that looks a lot better!
Use a torque wrench when it is on the ground. Uneven torque on the bolts will cause the rotors to warp
Nice vid man. I have a 2007 93 with that same body-style (before the face lift). I want to add some fog lights. Is there a plug already down there in the bumper or will I have to wire to a switch or something? Also nice black covers on the bumper lights
It looks awesome I remember asking you to put twenties on that would be awesome as well I'm my sub arrow as I previously said to you as well I have placed Audi wheels on it which is 112. 110 so it doesn't fit to make it fit I purchased what you purchased adaptors custom made I was excited as well that day haha
I'm running 19" bmw tiger claws stagerd 10j rears and 9j fronts off a x5 with stretched tyres and 20mm spacers freshly powdercoated in gunmetal grey
What's your suspension situation like? I'm wanting to bring my 2003 93 way lower to the ground. Iv got the 17 inch vector wheels.
looks clean as hell! did this mod affect your handling in some way or another?
Thank you! And no issues after install. Probably a good 20k miles on the set up.
Dude starts the fucken car and immediately throws it in drive 😂
You should always clean the hub with a steel brush! The spacer should always go on witout any resistance!! Very important!! shouldn't have have to torqdown the spacer to make it sit correctly to the hub. NEVER use a hammer to make the spacer sit right like in the video, just clean the hub and it will go in smooth!!! I strongly recommend you to remove the spacers and do it alla over again! (This is not hate! Im just concerned about your saftey and others who might watch this video)
I agree it's definitely a good idea to clean the hub surface and hub lip really well before spacer installation. If they don't seat right you can have serious wheel balancing issues. Since this vid I purchased a wire wheel.
That's some excellent wisdom
Super clean look! By the way, did you spray the side markers or these are black caps?
I sprayed the original amber markers with black plastidip. Then a little while later I went back over all of the plastic trim and that plastidiped markers with forever black: amzn.to/3qX8hst That made it all blend together nicely!
@@WeakestofWeeks Thank you very much for the info!
That motorcycle is right in the way
Wheel/tire specs ?
Just get the two piece bbs factory wheels the look bomb 😁
Where did you order the spacers and extended lugs?
Just search for hub centric 5x110 10mm 65.1mm wheel spacers. I found mine for cheap on ebay.uk and had them shipped to USA. Extended lugs can be found here: www.ebay.com/itm/TUNERLUGS-12x1-5MM-20-PIECE-BLACK-CONE-SEAT-LUG-BOLT-SET-40MM-/263960457601?hash=item3d7544f181
May I know the point of installing spacer? Just for the look?
Purely cosmetic. Since the wheels are from another vehicle, the offset is different so they ended up sticking inward more. The small spacers are just enough to make them back flush with the body.
Where'd you get those pumas speed cats?
Good eye lol. I got them many years ago from I think Footlocker. Still love these shoes
It put strain on wheel bearings. The angle and pressure on the bearings are not aligned. But what f…k . It looks nice .Good luck 👍
OMG, but didn't you see that the spacer remains detached from the hub? The spacer cannot remain detached from the support point of the hub, it must be totally attached. It is a wrong size, behind and in front the wheel centering point protrudes differently and you need a spacer of the correct size that can contain all the wheel centering point. Behind the minimum size to be able to do it is 17mm, maybe even 16mm but you should try and I'm not sure, to have the wheel flush you need a 20mm spacer but the fender must be rolled and in any case it touches the internal protrusion of the wheel arch. In front, however, the minimum size is 12mm for spacers with centering ring, to have the wheel flush you need a 15mm spacer and the fender must be rolled.
Why you don’t clean the rusty before you fits your new part?
For sake of time I didn't in the video. Some time later I ended up wire wheeling off the rust and used rust protection black paint.
Hi man
What size of tyres are you running here? And rim is 18" yes?
Yep rims are 18" from 2008+ Chevy Cobalt SS turbo. Tires are 235/40/R18
@@WeakestofWeeks cheers, will go with the same setup.
Please take your time, 1 hour of video isn't bad. So, no worries ;-)
Hey, do you have a link or at least the name of the company the spacers came from?
Its a corona stay at home month and id like to do this when i lift it to do the front brakes in the garage
updateeee, i said eh screw it and got 1" spacers and dayum the tread of the tire is perfectly flush with the fender. i also have maptun 35mm lowering springs to put in, imo the perfect is near...
Did you have to roll your fenders?
Nope, no rolled fenders. The car is at stock ride height but if it was lowered it may need rolled fenders.
Are those wheels from a Cruze LTZ or something like that?
No, actually from a 2008 and up Chevy Cobalt SS. Same bolt pattern, just a little different offset.
@@WeakestofWeeks That's the reason why it looks familiar. I would need to get them for my Saab. Thanks
Where did you get the spacers?
I bought them from ebay. Not sure on brand. Just make sure you get 5x110 and hub centric then pick out the thickness you want.
@@WeakestofWeeks Ok thanks.
What wheels is on your saab and what is your offset
Wheels are from a 2008+ Cobalt SS/TC. If I remember correctly the specs are 18x7.5 with 42mm offset and 235/40R18 tires. I put on 10mm spacers both front and rear to get rid of the horrible counter sunk look.
Weakest of Weeks lol thats the tire size i want to run the wheels im getting is 18x8 40et i already got spacers 15mm front and 25mm back not sure how much poke i will have on that
10mm front 15-20mm in the rear should look even better.
name of rims please... love them :)
Thank you! They're off of a 2008 - 2010 Chevy Cobalt SS Turbo
@@WeakestofWeeks You said it on the movie my bad
@@WeakestofWeeks yeah you said it in the movie :P my bad :)
Those are 19 inch wheels jsuk
Factory Cobalt SS wheels like the ones on this car are 18's
WTF...
You put the spacers on the dirt and than you hit with a steel hammer on them🤦🏻♂️
I put 15mm on my front and 25mm rear
What wheels did you go with?
@@WeakestofWeeks i have not made up my mind yet im doing 18 inch for sure
Putting wheel spacers on a Saab is only damaging it, it will run worse wear tires uneven and wear parts faster. You are damaging Swedish engineering to make your car look (enter generic word here). Come on man, if you love something you make it better.
Why the FUCK did you put those cobalt wheels on
Glad you like them :)
what chevy model and year those rims came off from ????
2008 and up Cobalt SS turbo
