Yeah at the very least they could have extended it so that every current cardmember was locked in at $250 for 1 year. This change is consistent with what they've done with past AF increases, but still will make a lot of current holders reconsider it

For the $120 dining credit, if I didn’t find a use for the $10 that month, could I just buy a $10 gift card and the gold would use the credits to pay for it? Might be a good way to get around the use it or lose it restrictions, but I don’t know is how it works for those who do have it right now.

Over here in Belgium we get a really decent insurance package with the Gold Amex. That on top with them being one of few giving those extra credits makes it almost a no brainer for people who travel up to a couple of times a year. Strange how in their core market it’s such a worse deal.

Hey Daniel, I love the channel on youtube, it’s helped me become more educated on the benefits of credit card points. I was wondering if you could do a video on a situation that is common but slightly niche. I’m an active duty US service member and I get the annual fees waived on cards thru Amex and Chase because of the SCRA and MLA acts. I unfortunately didn’t cash in the bonus on the Amex platinum but I got the Gold and have been using it for its point earning categories. I don’t have any Chase cards because I feel like the benefits overlap a lot with Amex. Could you make a video or give me some advice to maximize points earning or take advantage of this unique situation to accrue valuable points? Ideally I’d use them for traveling. I just thought it could be interesting to look into. Anyways keep up the quality content!

There’s a shake shack near me so I can get that for the next 3 cycles before it drops off (9/25) so maybe $250 back for me. 90k points plus that $100 makes it a no brainer for new card holders … but retention might drop drastically next year in July
