In a peaceful neighbourhood away from the hustle of central Paris, Pierre Savajol, founder of PS Studio, transformed his 60sqm/645sqft apartment into a playful, functional, and stylish home and home office for him and his partner. Maximising the high ceilings and large windows, Savajol removed all interior walls to craft a large open-plan living area, integrating the kitchen, living room, and office into a flexible layout that can be opened or partitioned as needed. Clever space-saving solutions include a retractable staircase leading to a cosy mezzanine, hidden storage, and multifunctional spaces, with playful touches like a hammock and a colourful tile palette.

We all need to appreciate how neat & cool that drying space behind the sink really is!!
Absolutely! That drying space behind the sink is such a clever and practical feature.
I don't get it, from the sound and video, it seems that the glasses completely touch the tile, creating a seal inside the glass, meaning the glasses do not actually dry. You need air to get inside for the water to evaporate into..
Re: glasses creating a seal -- some bamboo slats would look great and fix that issue.
@@szurketaltos2693 bamboo would get mouldy so fast unless you were crazy-diligent at drying... But if you were then you wouldn't need a drying rack 😅
@@MrsWilliamTheBloody hm, I haven't had a problem with bamboo in the bathroom or in a soap dish. Maybe depends on the amount of airflow underneath.
This is enormous for Paris standards - great find!
That removable kitchen cabinet to reveal a hidden door to the bathroom!!! Genius! The design ideas in this apartment are all brilliant. Such a bright, open feel and relaxed atmosphere makes this place really look comfortable and easy to live in. Well done!
It does limit functionality since the bathroom is frequently accessed. It’s quite a hassle to remove the cabinet each time to access the bathroom. However, if the theme of the apartment is playfulness, it fits well. Other than that, the apartment is lovely.
@@dominicprovido8037 the bathroom is accessible from the bedroom. The kitchen entrance is only used when they have visitors.
@@dominicprovido8037 the bathroom is accessible from the bedroom. The entrance from the kitchen is only used when they have visitors.
Given that they moved all the inside walls, there could have many many better layouts. Moving that cabinet will get old quickly
@@dp2404 You can access the bathroom from the bedroom. No need to move the cabinet at all, unless you have guests over (say, a dinner party) and don't want them to walk through your bedroom. It's a brilliant idea!
This is quite a large appartment for 2 people for Paris Standards, but it's absolutely wonderful, joyful, playful, and yet cosy and warm. LOVE this one, and could easily live in it, no problem !
So, what is normal? 30 qm?
@@ukyo6195 More like 35 to 50 for inner Paris, and above 50 for the first ring. But that would be for the majority of people living there, and renting. Though I had friends living in less than 30 as a couple. It vastly depends on your budget... No one wants to live in a shoebox obviously, but sometimes you don't have a choice. The magic of this channel is showing how to make spaces appear bigger and definetely this apartment to me feels bigger than 60sqm, so kuddos to Pierre :)
@@ukyo6195 It's not about what's normal, it's about theme of the channel, small apartments. That doesn't mean small apartments for Texas standards, but real small apartments, 35-40 sqm or smaller, but not to be very strict, at least 50 sqm or less.
yes, 30qm is large for Paris
I love this apartment. It certainly is whimsical and fun while also being functional. The highlights for me are the hammock, hidden entry into the bathroom through the kitchen, the bathroom window, and the ceiling drying rack. The interior round windows also soften the space. What a joyful home.
Whimsical? This place is very minimalist and plain in an elegant way, I don’t see anything whimsical about it…the hammock maybe..? 🤨
Oh, also, the drying rack is a standard feature in a lot of European apartments. Most people here in Poland have something very similar in their bathrooms.
@@haggisa the hidden entry into the bathroom through a kitchen countertop, the hammock, and the overall vibe. If whimsy offends you, it's my opinion that I stand by. Go out and have some fun somewhere.
@@roquemarcelomusic Lol, I’m not offended, just confused. I love whimsical decor, I just don’t see it in that apartment. 🤷🏻♀️
@@haggisa Ok.
Beautiful. High ceilings make such a difference for flexible living.
They also make a big difference in your heating bill
This apartment does NOT look like it's 645 sq ft. The simple rope system for the laundry is such a unique take, especially since it makes full use of the high ceiling. Much better imo than the automated systems you see nowadays.
Lovely design!
The drying rack is everything! I ran with my phone to show hubby. "This! I want this!"
@@HuhHowboutThat Yes, it really is! The simplicity of the design, and ease of maintenance is a high plus point as well for a forever home!
It’s a typical Brazilian feature ;)
The drying rack is a old time idea, common in UK kitchens where it would have hung over the range
We had a put a trapeze-like swing on hooks for our daughter in the hallway near the bathroom, where the washing macine is. Now those hooks -with a rack attached, serve as a place to hang clothes to dry.
Okay, so this is now my favourite apartment featured of Never too Small! So clever and beautifully designed and decorated. I could quite happily live here. I love everything about it!
Yes indeed
Each to their own, I like it too actually, but I find it slightly ironic that the largest apartments always tend to get the most of such comments on this channel. Perhaps they should consider rebranding to Never Too Medium 🙂
With 60sqm and such high ceilings it's not that hard to create a comfortable layout without any major compromises. I am more impressed with apartments that achieve the same feel within say 40sqm. This one is literally 2 apartments combined.
I love when he explained how the dining table was put on this theatrical perspective. Also the unexpected guest bedroom was so cute.
easily my favorite apartment i've seen featured. that bathroom will live in my head and heart for the rest of my life.
Means a lot
Thank you
4:48 I saw the hammock and thought he was a Brazilian. Once you experience laying for hours in an hammock, you can't live without it anymore. (Writing this while laying on mine) 😊
and the Paulo Mendes da Rocha´s Paulistano Chair...
This appartement is sooo Brazilian haha I thought the same thing
Mee too! When he said he lived in Brazil it all made sense! Haha
Love this. Always make room for a hammock! Two access points for bathroom, separate office for 2, loft bed, separate toilet, long, low built ins, shoe storage, dish drying space, clothing rack and moveable furniture. So many ticks. And the star of the apartment is the lovely sunlight ❤
I love the style of this apartment!! But you can also tell they actually live there, lots of practical little details.
I'm Brazilian and I live in Paris in a 28 m2 apartment. It's huge!
Very cleaver design ❤ I love it, especially the drying rack in the bathroom and the guest bed
This might be my new favourite on this channel. Great range of contrast in shape, scale, textures and function. Also, really like the clever moments of interactive design, keeps it fun and childlike while remaining subtle and sophisticated.
Well done!
Lovely spacious apartment. The high ceilings make it very airy. I’d have to have some art on those walls though.
first NTS episode where I realise I live 2 streets away! Love the drying rack
What helps is that the apartment is f****n enormous! Never too small my ass...
I'd be happy living there. A gorgeous, airy space.
Upcoming avalanche of 60m2 is not small comments....
Because 60sqm isn't small in Paris !
60m2 + high ceilings hardly gives any tiny living challenges and does not require as much design creativity. How to deal with a seriously small living space is what makes this channel so intersting for me. So - in my opinion - this type of comment - altough predictible - makes sense. Nonetheless a great place and video.
In Paris it definitely isn't.
It's definitely big for Paris. The channel is in fact named Never Too Small. Not the first big appartement to be featured here though. I have to admit that for someone looking for a place on a rather tight budget, my interest for this channel stemmed from its featuring of ingeniously laid out, well, small appartement.
@@therealseb or In big cities in Europe!
Love the Khaki and fresh whites , beautiful apartment, and the recess for drying dishes behind sink...YES!
Exceptionally witty, full of interesting, FUNCTIONAL(!), and usually details! IMHO, this is a pretty big apartment, and the way designers embraced the space makes it look even bigger.
Well thought, greatly executed, and LOVELY!
This is among the best videos recently posted on this channel: creative, comfortable and versatile. Being able to get such a flexible and easy space, without sacrificing the look, it's a real goal in small apartments imo. From the modular couch disposition to the lifting drying rack, from the bathroom camouflaged door (genius!) to the mezanine, they managed to have a bright and open living area, a huge kitchen, two bathrooms, a pretty confi studio with two desks, one bedroom and a second sleeping option. And it's all furnished with accessible brands. I'm pretty happy with what I did at my place but this one really made me wonder "wow, maybe I could really get something more from here!" Congrats guys 👏
Beautiful, light, and airy. Highly functional and I appreciate the simplicity and sparse furnishings. Easy to clean makes for easy living. Congrats. Merci!
This one has blown my mind. Haven’t seen such a beautiful and detailed (and playful but keeping the clean looking) space in a long time. 👏🏽
I like how the colors of this house feels really like a happy bright energy and at the same time minimal in stuffs,😊👌
what a clever apartment!!!! amazing job... French architects are always amaze me with their imagination but also the ability to make small spaces looks livable and not only for photo shooting!!!! many ideas I will borrow from this video! congratulatios
I love the multifunctional ideas and clever use of nooks for storage. The sometimes-hidden bathroom door is a hoot, and it’s also useful to have a mobile unit that could work as a separate island. OK it’s not the tiniest space, but I’ve been in similar-sized Paris apartments that have felt poky and dark, rather than inviting and liveable. This is one of my favourites so far!
Love the ahestetic but I feel some solutions are unusual to be playful but not necessary are good design: have to remove a kitchen unit to open a door doesn't seem to me very practical, also having the toilet and the bathroom at the opposite side of the apartment seems not ideal for everyday use. With 60 squares mt and high ceilings many other layout could have been explored, but I agree that at the end the space need to serve the needs and the priorities of who use it, so well done!
Really love what they did with the space! It's so functional for such a minimal space. The coloured grouting in the bathroom too. Very well thought out! Love that officespace and mezzanine too!
You have created a truly lovely livable home. Bravo and thank you for sharing it with us.
Absolutely gorgeous Tastefully done and beautiful colour palette Bravo to you 🇨🇦❤️🙏👍👏👏👏👏
You are a genius! This design is absolutely brilliant and refreshing!
So light, bright and simple. A calming and easy space to live in especially in Paris.
I like this channel, but I get a little frustrated that if I wanted to make a space like this for myself, I feel like I need an expensive, unique space that already has character and features to use.
Id love to see an episode showing off something like a more standard newbuild layout. Im probably going to end up in one soon and would love ideas on how to use the space effectively.
@@PSStudioArchitectes Yeah, because if I could only just about afford a cookie cutter, £180k, one bedroom shoebox, maisonette. I'm going to have the capital to pay a expensive professional to design me a nice new interior.
They should do a multi-part video series with a designer going from zero to finished project, on a budget. Maybe someone whose work they've profiled before, with decent experience with these projects. That'd be really interesting.
I am fine with the generous size of this appartment. The space saving tweaks can be employed in smaller spaces, too. I also find the overall design inspiring, enjoyable to watch.
This is my favorite and only UA-cam channel I follow because it offers unique solutions and styles. This apartment is exceptionally beautiful with a clean and refined design. However, like many others, I miss the videos featuring small apartments, which were common in the past. In spaces of 20-30m², the solutions can be very different compared to a 60m² apartment.
The drying rack in the bathroom is clever-saves floor space.
Always amazed when I look at a space like this and realize that it is smaller than my apartment yet looks twice as big! If only I could remove my interior walls!
It’s incredible how with all that space and beautiful structure he managed to make the most bland apartment I’ve seen on the channel. And also no, this is not small at all.
What a beauty. I didn’t think I’d like the hammock but agree with previous comments re the whimsical nature of this luxurious Parisian interior. Also agree that this is one of the best NTS spaces I’ve seen. Regards from Croatia.
AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL, PRACTICAL, MODERN, ELEGANT!!!!!!
and the apartment is great too 😉🙂
Love the hanging clothes rack... will deffo be stealing this idea!
Wow. With every new thing you showed, I just kept saying wow. Amazing and thoughtful design. Made the apartment seem so spacious. Great work. Thanks for sharing.
At this point this channel should change their name to Never Too Big
up
OK, this was mind-blowing. I always wanted a hammock indoors, it could replace a sofa completely (I haven't found a really comfortable sofa yet). The drying areas (in kitchen and bathroom) look clever
Tout est super malin, c’est beau, c’est minimaliste mais vivant ! J’aime tout! Je crois que c’est mon appartement préféré de la chaîne !!!! ❤
This apartment is one of the most joyous, that I have ever seen!😍
The drying rack solution was on point! Its hard to dry clothes in paris. Takes many days and the rack is always on the way taking so much space
This is the most beautiful space! The light, pillars and the thoughful placement of items..well done!! ❤
I love how the space was divided and organised. And I really appreciate the size and comfort of the living room. Too often, the living rooms on the channel are anything but, in fact, they're the most uncomfortable looking area in the whole space. A tiny corner with one chair chosen for aesthetics rather than comfort, with a side table thst is harely big enough to hold a laptop. Regardless of whether or not you think this apartment qualifies as a small space, I still think it's one of the best apartments I've seen on the channel.
STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SRI CHINMOY: " SIMPLICITY IS AN ADVANCED COURSE." CONGRATULATIONS. Love from Koala-Land
That space is everything but compact!
This is extremely impressive! Very functional and so many hidden gems in here! I love it. I especially love the clothing rack to dry clothes! Every single detail was thought of! Oh and can’t forget the beautiful daylight that comes shining through every area. Well done.
Nothing seems small about this wonderful flat❤
High ceiling makes any small space looks huge..❤
Clever ideas to make the space more livable - stealing the drying area behind the sink for sure. Love the colour palette - neutral enough to feel calm and spacious, but touches of colour to keep it fun and joyous.
Love the open concept, natural light, functionality, and storage space of the home ❤
Beautiful design - I reckon 60m2 is the perfect size. Really enjoy the hidden door and versatility of the kitchen and couch.
That hammock is a great idea. Changes the straight lines and set out formation of the apartment, to a more softer fun vibe. Really well planned and designed. Great space
This place is absolute genius…..it’s a gorgeous space and so incredibly livable.
This episode is too short. Loved it!
I like how the designer installed many smart and innovative ideas despite having sufficient space.
My new favorite on NTS
Okay this one is literally amazing. I freakin' love the creativity and how things are tucked away but perfectly accessible. LOVE!
It's like a puzzle apartment, I like it!
My favorite apartment so far! The design and functions of the space are well considered!
Loooove so many of these features. This whimsical space has a bunch of those little unique tips and tricks that I hope to see more often in smaller spaces featured on this channel. Ideas that are great such as the rope hanging drying rack that should be implemented in more spaces. Brilliant!
Great kitchen, and that secret door is brilliant.
The drying rack is genius
Finally something really creative and new!! Congrats!
Amazing! I loved the idea of the colorfoul tiles joints filler ❤
One of my favorite homes y'all have ever shown, it's so intentional and clever!
One of the best I've seen on this channel
What a beautiful apartment, with such novel design ideas. Also, it is SO good to see a home that actually looks like someone lives in it, and not just an IKEA sterile showroom!
Great apartement, and great neighborhood not far from where I live.
But talking about "small" for a 60sqm... in Paris. I mean come on. You know a place is not small when you have separate dinner and living rooms.
Fr
love it! ...agreed re the area behind the washer with the tiled over door - fab!
I think it's beautiful. There are many very clever individual features, and the overall space is beautifully designed, and I suppose they did not want art competing with their design, but I would definitely put art in that space. It seems an opportunity wasted to me.
Beautiful! And the hammock - what a great idea!
Great use of the space, and lovely decor! The trompe l’oeil door to the bathroom is a stroke of genius.
My favorite NTS project so far 👏🏻✨ so many good ideas
This apartment is a dream! Def not small for Paris, but the perfect size for a couple.. love it
This space feels so large compared to some properties we see on this channel. The previous owner was very apart to combine 2 apartments together.
The round windows and bathroom entrance are so fun!
Gorgeous apartment and fantastic work of the interior design. so many details so nicely thought through. Finally someone really diving in with all those small cozy details. Beautiful!!!! : )
Nice to see an actual kitchen unit in one of the vids. A really nice place this one.
Beautiful living room space with wonderful light and with the modulating feature (moving 1 sofa-piece & installing/taking out the hammock). The trompe l'oeil effect in the kitchen super nice; the clothes rack going up & down!
One of most creative uses for expanding all the living opportunities, love this!!
Love this apartment, so light and playfull. Well done!
Cet appartement semble calme, lumineux, bien pensé et agréable . Bravo
Superbe !
Feliciatations !!! C'est un de mes pref :D
i was thinking to myself "that's quite the brazilian touch to add a hammock in the living room" 2 seconds before he admitted to living in brazil 😅 loved it
Wow. What a dream place. Well done.
This place is so inventive and fun.✨😊✨
I love this space and I love Paris. What a beautiful home.
It's such a nice apartment, beautiful! I loooooooooove it!!!
One thing that i dont like from the newest layout is the kitchen is flanking the main Bedroom which is in the corner or the building. If somehow the dining room catches fire and the homeowner is in the bedroom, they will be trapped there. there will be no other way out except to jump from the window.
I think it’s the best video of never to small I’ve ever watched
Beautiful light and airy apartment! Love the clothes drying rack!
Absolutely! The apartment feels so open and fresh with all that natural light.
Oh woah, living here must be the dream!
