The amount of muscle and fitness required for this event is unreal- one of my favourite olympic events for sure.
Still my favorite gymnastics video, the clip with Albert Azaryan at the beginning with the kids really is touching
Yes, Azaryan is the first two-time Rings Olympic Gold Medalist. This record has been tied once (by Akinori Nakayama) and has never been broken.
Albert Azaryan -> Freddie Mercury of the rings :D
This guy's stylish af
Albert Azaryan, greatest male gymnast ever.
He was very strong even though people don't have much experience like nowadays. I mean how did they know the method, how did they program their routine, how did they achieve those skills that professional gymnast still struggle nowadays
Replying 11 years later woah how different that guy’s life must be
love the Azaryan cross. He was well ahead of his time... brilliant athlete... mesmerising.
an awesome thing i noticed, when seeing him side by side to other athletes, is that unlike them, he does not use inertia, he does it all staticky... calmly...
Not ahead of his time! He invented the maneuver and it was named after him.
Jordan Jovtchev is the rightful gold medalist of 2004 Athens Olympics, heck Yuri Chechi himself pointed this out after the routines were over.
You can really see how Yuri Chechi changed things, the strength he displayed really raised the bar. Can't wait to see Jovtchev and Arthur Zanetti in London this year, should be a great competition! Chen Yibing is fantastic though
It was amazing, wasn't it?
My god . Chechi does the cross and greets the jury bowing his head 3 times
Yuri Chechi is still in great form and teach both, gymnastic and calisthenics here in Italy
Jordan Jovtchev, that 2004 routine had all the strength elements all done in a row without rest. This was before a swing to strength element was a requirement. So he just did them all in a row and got huge connection bonus for it. And really was the true winner of gold in 2004.
Jordan Jovtchev: 2004 True Olympic Champion (Athens, Greece)
Very accurate description my friend ;]
yes, I agree
These guys are so amazing - favourite sporting event EVER!
awesome! RESPECT for all the gymnasts specially at the rings! wow
Albert Azaryan has swag on the rings, its all in the mustache :3
Yuri Chechi at 4:54. Now THAT is badass! lol
I have been watching this video for mora than 9 years. Pure inspiration!
That is by far the best ring compilation I have seen, thanks man
Nah... the guy playin' to the crowd is the best. HE's the one who makes look not only easy, but FUN!
I need a vicodin....
WOW! what an amazing video, my skin thrilled!!!
enjoyed every minute!
I didn't knew that that in the 50s there were so many strong people!
And you could add the dude which invented the inverted cross in 1938
thank's too for being objective and giving props to all of the athletes and even recognising Jordan Jovtchev for being winner in 2004 (where after watching all the qualified mens in my humble opinion Tampakos didn't deserved even to be between the first 3, but thats other question)
One of my favourite youtube videos.
Iordan Jovtchev the best of all times. He competed in 6 olympics. And was the true 2004 champion, not Tampakos
Even Yuri was better than tampakos he deserved the bronze at most
can we take a moment to appreciate what it takes to just dead hang from those rings for just a moment? This event it's just such an incredible display of arm, back, upper body, and core strength and control. These athletes spend a great deal of time on their strength but I'd be surprised if they didn't spend even more time on control.
Best vid on youtube! This is a great anthology, it contains almost everything you need to know about still rings! These guys were phenomenal, mad respect!
Dmtry Bilozerchev was just great, even with his sad accident he was just great! God bless him!
I so love the music. Very nice and beautiful video. Thank you.
5:41 its so perfect.
Yuri chechi has always been my favorite male gymnast.
Albert Azaryan, Alexander Ditantyin, Dimitri Bilozerchev, Chen Yibing ones of the Bests. But Szilveszter Csollány is closest to my heart. An avid athlete and teacher, I am deeply sorry that he died. R.I.P.
Alber Azaryan is King of the Rings.!
Very nice compilation....!
All of these athletes are AMAZING!
Azaryan number 1
this man is a pioneer, you can't compare him to current champs. He was the main man in his own time, he even invented moves that are still very popular today and bear his name in remembrance. You guys need to put things in perspective instead of bashing a legend. It's easy to do that for the current guys as well you know. With the drugs and steroids they use... Everyone deserves respect and certainly this man who made an impact on the sport in his time.
Great workout.....
Awesome strength!! Just ordered a nice set of wooden rings from Xtraining Equipment tonight. Shoould be a great addition to my home workout setup.
0:43 fookin beautiful
amazing progress in the sport in the past of the years
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
Sunking ''state of mind'' is a great track to play over this great video
Alexander Dityatin won 3 gold 4 silver and 1 bronze for a total of eight. Still one of the greatest showing of talent ever but not eight golds.
Downloaded and saved, before Gema is going to close this video again ;)
Yuri Chechi = epic move xD !!!!
one of the best video ever
R.I.P. Szilveszter Csollány.
Wonderful to see what a human body can do with determination
10 min of epic :)
!... I never thought that Szilveszter Csollany will pass away sooner than Albert Azaryan, but unfortunately, he did in 2022. 1. 24... R.I.P. Szilas!
Most impressive humans alive. Amazing.
great video. But i suggest you to put to the top of the rings the two time olympic champion Dimosthenis Tampakos.
Although I am more familiar with the names of Alexander Dityatin and Dmitri Belozerchev, I have to say that Chen Yibing and Zhen Dong are the most impressive to me here.
For horizontal bar, Epke Zonderland at 2012 Olympic is the most memorable.
THIS is the real beast mode. Great respect to all of them.
They are all superb athletes. Stop arguing who's the best etc. etc. Just enjoy watching them for this is pure art.
u should make a montage like this with all the events
Albert Azaryan! First Rings Olympic Champion to defend his title, I believe.
best gym video i've ever seen.
Van Gelder is a tank
3:41 I think that is the 1st time I saw rings performance on a photo in a newspaper, featuring Dmitri Belozerchev.
So, everytime rings performance is discussed, Belozerchev comes to mind.
Agreed. One of the best inverted crosses ever.
This move is so impressive! Yuri did a very job. 💪🏾
I came here after hearing the news about Szilveszter Csollány. :'(
RESPECT
Balandin and Rodrigues are awesome too !
My abs burn just watching this
serious strength,respect..
yibing is a freaking beast... unreal moves.
To really appreciate this event and how difficult it is, try out the rings at your local cross- fit gym.
No need to prove it. I can imagine how hard it is that I don't want to try. A combination of strength and other things I cannot think of. Just awesome.
Yuri Chechi of course :)
Proud to be italian!!!!!!!!!
Nice! Lord of the rings =) I'm just waiting him to look at the rings and say "My precious".
OMG, ultimate in balance and strenght.
LP
The last 6 are clearly the best, even considering the athletes are now competing. But Yibing Chen is on another level.
Good video but where is Ivan Ivankov ?? :-D
You should add the sixth Olympic games to Jordan Jovtchev's list and his admirable 7th place when he is 39 years old :)
Why the movement at 1:09 is not longer at the Olympics?
An excellent video. However, a 'lord of the rings' without the inclusion of Li Ning, Yuri Korolev and Andreas Wecker... that could be a problem!
I'd add Yan Mingyong and Danny Rodriguezs for sure
Good video... But where is Dan Grecu ?
@Dalamen Man! I thought i was the only one who thought that. He greatly resembles Guile, doesn't he? lol!
The cameras progressively got better from the start to the end of this video.
Even though I find the rings competition to be the most boring and unappealing of all the gymnastics disciplines, I must admit it is impressive.
01:39 to 02:17 is pure power and balance!
drum and bass- terminator style
the most worth 10 minutes video of my live.
Yuri Van Gelder 🙏🏻
@TheRogueMonk if you want a similar body you have to do artistic gymnastics or do rings training
The best of all time is Yuri Chechi
Jordan Jovtchev ftw 6 olympic game in a row
Plange press to hand stand is easy... I did one on parallel bars at a weight of 220 lbs. Of course, I hurt myself but still...
can someone help me get arms like that? how do they workout?
they all have great long head of the biceps
Never again I will lift another dumbell.
Jordan Jovtchev is the best and number 1. for me !
Dan Grecu...Where is he?
a true iron cross
Anyone know what the name of the soundtrack? thanks
...yeah but like how many pushups can you do bro?
...yeah but like how many pushups can you do bro¡¿
9:22 this is absolutely incredible
..to me, the suppression of that vertical and rotational momentum.
I know its Olympic season and whatnot...
...and yeah i am only recently fascinate and amazed about what the human body can achieve...but I'm here now!
no, i was not paying attention at the time it occurred, in fact i could care less....throw a few years ata doo, and look here, I am blown anew the fuck away !
also, i am lazy and need to get off my ass.
Chen Yibing all day
YURI CHECHI EL MEJOR DE TODOS!!!!!
Albert FTW !
5:36 El primer Jesucristo invertido. Técnica mas difícil
yuri van gelder and kai wen tan/kevin tan
4:55
can someone help me get arms like that? how do they workout?
