  • While researching for my videos, I came across some crime information around Albuquerque and was shocked at the neighborhood that was listed as most dangerous.

Albuquerque is only dangerous if you look for trouble or go to the areas that are knowingly unsafe. The gun violence is increasing everywhere, not just Albuquerque. And what part of town do you live in? Show us your neighborhood. You must feel privileged.

I've shown my neighborhood. I hear gunfire all the time. I was born and raised here and love Albuquerque. Unfortunately, we are in the top percentile for violent crimes per capita.

Ps. The point of this video was to show a nice neighborhood that was listed as most dangerous, in other words the stats can be deceiving. Thanks for watching!

I don't think people being carjacked at gunpoint, or being randomly beat to death, or being hit by stray bullets are out looking for trouble. NM and Abq have a reputation and bad stats for a good reason. Anyone making constant excuses for the state needs to ask why and stop. Until people actually confront that reality and take action to make it better.. it simply won't get better.

It could be that that area is only considered a "high crime area" during the evenings.

You don't have to be looking for trouble...
I got shot by a gangbanger near San Mateo & Menual in the early 90's attempting to steal my bicycle. I didn't know it at the time, but he had just robbed a convenient store. I fought him because that's the kind of person I am, I take no crap from anyone. I surprised this ignorant, overweight gangbanger who wasn't expecting a fight, but he got what was coming to him eventually, and he shot me like the coward he was as I was leaving the scene... I moved away two years later and I've never returned despite still having friends live there.

I always lived on the northwest side town when I lived there. Most of the northeast side seemed pretty good just older for the most part. I would have thought off central area would be worse.

It probably is. Of course that was the point that I couldn't figure out why they area was listed as such.

Missed this one Big G. Yeah unfortunately ABQ has a pretty high property & violent crime rate when compared to a lot of other large cities in the USA. However, I'm glad you focus on the good things most all the time. Thanks for sharing.

I was an airforce kid and we moved to town in 1959 when i was 9 I enjoyed albuquerque and at the age of 40 had to leave because as a machinist all of the machine shops were having a hard time and because the state became a right to work state, i moved to Portland Oregon so i could find a job in a good union shop. It was the best decision i ever made in my life. I have watched the economy of Albuquerque continue on the down hill path to this present day. I miss all the natives and their strong cultural influence, I miss all the wonderful restaurants also. I found a wonderful house at a bargain price, and now i have a teamster pension to help me enjoy my golden years.

I agree with you! Doesn’t look dangerous too me! I haven’t even heard of Jackson area . I heard the War Zone is bad. Which is like Gibson & Zuni area. Thanks for sharing! I learn something everyday! But I probably would still go on that area ! Personally I think we always need to be on our toes these days! Again thanks

I've never once felt threatened or worried about anything when I'm in Albuquerque. Of course I'm always armed no matter where I'm at so that gives me a level of confidence that most don't have who aren't carrying. I've lived in Santa Fe for four years and only once had a problem with a homeless guy who tried to fight me but he wasn't no daisy. I now live in Pecos and have for over ten years and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It's funny though when I hear about how dangerous it is here but I'd be willing to bet that the people who say that haven't lived in Dallas Texas like I have or some place like that. Yeah I've seen dangerous people in dangerous places. It's not to say that I couldn't become a victim of a violent crime but I really believe for the most part people make themselves a victim of it in one way or another. If you mind your own business and carry yourself as someone who doesn't appear weak and easy to overtake then you won't have any problems anywhere you go. Most thugs and criminal type go after the easy targets.

Santa Fe and ABQ aren’t really comparable. ABQ is more dangerous than Dallas these days but it all depends where you’re visiting I guess

Yeah, it's hard to know what the exact circumstances were at that time to come up with these statistics. It is a different neighborhood each month with the highest rate. But stats are stats.

I drive threw here everyday and I've never seen a homeless person, drug user or anyone asking for money. Even though this was recorded 10 months ago, this area has not changed. You want to see what Albuquerque looks like, go show Texas st, Utah St, Rhode Island and Zuni! That's where the action is!!😂😂

    • @eclecticvideosvlogsandmore

That's the point. The documented statistics i showed at the beginning stated that this area had the highest crime rate. Nothing to do with homeIess or drugs. have over 500 Videos, I've covered all the ' bad' stuff and lived in the war zone for 15 years.
