I wonder if quad-tracking on the Kitchener line will be complete by 2019

@@bluemaple1761 401 tunnel is under construction, Mount Dennis Go is also starting construction. I'm going to estimate that all day service will come the same time that the Eglinton LRT is done

Why don't the stouffville & Kitchener lines have weekend service

They do have weekend service but it's operated by buses. In the case of Kitchener line, they are having disagreements with CN who owns the track between Georgetown and Bramalea, and for Stouffville I guess they're just waiting until the current double-tracking construction is complete. Not having any trains on weekends makes construction a lot easier.

Between Highway 427 and Bloor they need to add an extra track. Construction is underway right now. Then 15 minute service can be possible between Bramalea and Union. As well as weekend service possibly. As for Georgetown to Bramalea, they have disagreements who owns the track. They are planning a bypass for the CN trains that will go from Milton Go to Bramalea for the CN trains. Before it would have gone from Milton to Georgetown down to Bramalea

Well technically if GO's Bramalea-Union local services share a pair of tracks with UP Express (leaving the remaining 1-2 tracks for VIA and GO express trains), all that's required for 15-minute service is to complete the double track just east of Bramalea Stn and to re-open the south platform at that station. The quad-tracking work currently underway is more for the benefit of the other services in addition to the 15-minute local service.

@reaperexpress now that Metrolinx has come to agreements with CN, do you think weekend service is possible
