    You make that look so easy. My replacement project ended looking like a Frankenstein bag.🙄

    Thanks! I did a recover on my Morrell a few years ago, and wrestled and fought with it for the biggest part of an hour....now watching your video I'm seeing that I apparently missed the part about taking off the old one first. My replacement bag cover nonetheless worked well and is actually ready for another and now that I see what step I missed I'll probably get another cover instead of a new bag.

    New covers for the big 450 are hard to find. Morello wanted $24 each but wanted $28 shipping. I found two on amazon for $22 each and free shipping to my house. Shop around. Covers for the 350 bag were $17 at Walmart free shipping pick up at local store.

    They should have eyes built in on the bottom if they expect you to zip tie it. That would be much better than having to stab holes in it.

    👍 great video on maintaining your target . That’s the secret of target 🎯 shooting ..Contrasting colours .Black/Yellow,Blue/Orange as in photography light against dark, dark against light ..What do we do when we’re trying to line up the broadhead in a clump of grey/brown fur..LOL

    Awsome video. I did mine a while ago. I have had my yj350 bag for 5 years. It is almost time to replace the whole bag its self. So many soft spots in it, that my new bow is punching through the target.

    I've seen them on eBay only by the time you add handling and shipping and don't forget the import tax on top it's not so cheap like the yellow jacket discharge bag for me too import one of those I'm looking at about £60 ruffle about double what you pay over there in the US

    Can you do a video on initial sight set up? Im new to archery. I bolted my sight on and have no idea where to start on setting the 1st 2nd or 3rd axis? I've shot a couple arrows put 1 in the dirt and 1 over the target! Thank you!

    I'm starting to see arrows buried past the fletchings in a bag target. A new cover isn't going to fix that, right?

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  4 роки тому +2

      Great question. No you'll have to shuffle around the internals of the target first, then add a new cover. Laynthe target flat and walk on it a bunch to soften it up so you can move the original settled parts around.

  • @JacobC479
    @JacobC479 3 роки тому

    I work for morrell and stuff the targets and I dont think people realize how easy it is to fix them up. Should be able to just slide a new cover on like you did here

      Is there a way to add material once you’ve shot out enough of it that it can’t really be moved around enough/walked out?

    I will do you guys one ten times better, I ordered a cover and filled it with old clothes, jackets, anything that doesn't fit around the house, and anything I bought that I will fit into one day 😅 😀. Cost me the cost of the super cover. You can go to your local good will, sometimes you can buy a bag in bulk. Good luck.

    I live about an hour from Alma. My next target will most likely be a Morrell High Roller

    Is there a part # for each bag so you can order the right cover

      Yes. Reach out to Morrell if you have catalogue type questions there.

    So I’ve found out a disadvantage to my first 6” brace height speed bow. The target faces of my bags are the least of my worries. I learned the first week I had the bow that my almost new Morrel Yellowjacket was going to occasionally let the points through. Just this evening though, I shot plumb all the way through my big Morrel bag. It’s crazy. Neither bags have been shot that much and neither need new covers yet. Any ideas?

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  4 роки тому

      Are you changing your aim points around the bag? Using more bullet style points instead of needle-point styles?

    • @davidrussell631
      @davidrussell631 4 роки тому

      Just changed to bullet points after learning the points I’ve been using for years hasn’t helped, but I’ve never had this issue. As for aim points, I try to use different ones, at least on the side opposite the deer vitals. The weird thing is that where the pass through was isn’t a spot or anywhere close to one or the deer vitals.. I had to switch bows little later than I wanted to this summer and was checking windage with a strip of vertical tape over butcher paper. I’m only shooting 60# but it’s a Bowtech Reign 6 and my carbons are at least 550 g.

    What’s your opinion on shooting arrows with outserts into a bag target?

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  3 роки тому

      Can be rough!!! I prefer to stick to fill foam for outserts or footers if I can.

  • @jadahoob99
    @jadahoob99 2 роки тому

    I know that this is going to sound like a DUMB question, but why are bullet points easier on the target than pointy ones? I actually switched out all of my bullet points because we shoot a variety of bows, and arrows from the lower powered bows didn't stick in the target well... they would hang and become a damage risk from other arrows. I switched to some Easton arrow points that look just like your picture... and the problem mostly went away.
    I would switch back to the bullet points if It would help to preserve my target, but I would hate to go back to that other issue. Could you explain it? Thanks!

    Have you shot morrels with an arrow that has a collar on it?? How's the pull?

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  4 роки тому

      Any bag target will have some level of "snag" with a collared or footed shaft. I have found the Morrel's not better or worse than any other manufacturer.
