    Indeed a great target! I got mine yesterday and I will use it for starting my young mare with horseback archery. The target stands without any base and it can be set up everywhere quickly. And that's exactly what I need, because I am the only mounted archer im the riding club and I need targets I can set up and remove fast!

    Great video Charlie! Any idea what maximum bow poundage or max arrow speed would be for this target? Cheers mate, Kev Arrow Smith

      I haven’t chance to try anything stronger than 43lbs. I would say that anything up to 60lbs will be ok.

    try using an auctual archery target on that thing and you will improve also focus is key in instinctive archery as well. focus on what you want to hit

      I just spray paint a circle on mine when I train for accuracy. This traget is way better then those traditional layered ones that fall apart like a turd in the rain.

      I just cut one of those off. After 3 years. Realistically it survives about 10-15000 hits (35-40 lbs bows, carbon arrows with practice heads). Pretty cool 👌

    how can it be the best if it takes two hands and some leverage to pull your arrows?

    • @CharliesRunningArchery
      @CharliesRunningArchery  2 роки тому

      Because thanks to this fact arrows are not going through so they will not break. For me personally super valuable fact.

    So what you're saying is, it's versatile 😁
    Sometimes having a target fall when you hit it is very fun. Instant gratification

    Are you doing a khatra so the arrow is not deflecting off of the bow? Does the arrow fly straight where you point or does it deflect off the bow towards the arrow side of the bow? Look up Armin Hirmer's simple khatra video. Seems anyone can learn to get the bow out of the way in about a minute. Me and my kids were able to do it right from the start... Getting the knack of using the bow so the arrow flies straight and you can control the bow, the arrow and the string with confidence makes all the difference I have found. After that, it is all about focusing on the target and letting your body mechanics take care of themselves... I have to not mess up my basic techniques and not think about anything but the target... even if I miss, the arrow hit where my eyes had settled at the point of release... The Instinctive Archer of Darthmoor Archery talks about this kind of stuff as well... I just wanted to learn my own way, he teaches lots of people archery this kind of way...

      I know it's not hard, I just did not developed my self to the phase where I want to add khatry in my Archery life. One step after another :) Thanks for great comment :)

    You don't mention or show how easy or difficult it is to remove the arrows from this material. I think that's an important consideration. Thanks.

      @@CharliesRunningArchery I asked about that and the shipping is 35 euros. Not bad considering that you can't get a good target that lasts like that for under 100 dollars here.

    Ahoj, absolutně souhlasím! Jo, je to vtipný, jak člověk pořad něco zkouší, vyhazuje prachy za za blbosti, než se dostane k něčemu funkčnímu. Tuto jsem rozhodnut si taky poslat od bratrů ze Slovenska. Dneska jsem střílel na balíky sena, uprostřed prispendleny kousek kartonu s asyrským na 32m. Zatím rozptyl 30-40cm. Je to úžasný luk. Ale je fakt, ze když začínám na 8m a s každým šípem udělám 2 kroky dozadu, přesnost jde rychleji nahoru. Díky za videa! Tonda

      @CharliesRunningArchery  3 роки тому

      Tondo, je to tak. Taky občas rád přeskakuji něktré kroky a potom se musím vrátit na začátek. Aktuálně pracuji na tom, abych udržel dobré míření do 10 metrů v pohybu. Brzy budu přidávat :)

    Interesting... Here comes my opinion/experience.
    The best target material is with out a doubt an ordinary cardboard box, filled with bunched up plastic bags and wraping.
    It stops my heavy arrows coming in with pressure/speed of a ca. 75# bow. Then you can pick out the arrows with loose fingertips.
    After ca. 2000 hits you can tape or glue a new cardboard surface on the box... Simply the best and for free. Try it.
    My worst taget, is a super expensive specialized archery target. Stops the arrows worse and its a pain to pick them.

    • @CharliesRunningArchery
      @CharliesRunningArchery  Рік тому

      I made dozens of cardboard targets and it was always a pain to transport it, maintain it and arrows were damaged much faster (bottle necks etc). Yes this polyfoam is not easy to pull the arrows, but one can learn ho to do it effectively. Thanks for sharing!

    • @magnuspersson414
      @magnuspersson414 Рік тому

      @CharliesRunningArchery Strange. I've been shooting on cardboard boxes with plastic bags in them, for years. Not one arrow broken.
      Only arrow on arrow damage, or misses.
      Just sayin
