The Oilers have shown tons of resiliency and a no quit attitude with these two comeback wins. It’s very impressive especially because they're on what is effectively an extended road trip. Championship quality hockey is being played right now.
Yup, and winning ugly as well. LA was a dang tough fight. Funny, as tight as the margins are, we still aren't getting too involved in the rough stuff. Something we've been critiqued about. I am beginning to see the method to Knoblachs and Coffeys madness here. Namely, save the intensity of contact until the play off's. If you've been playing physical hockey all-year long, you'll get injuries and run the lottery of having players unfit for a deep run. Moreover, checking hockey and rough stuff, it really takes it outta you.
That's a good plan....I always thought save the physicality for the playoffs....the boys take hits but they keep on ticking....offense is our game...not running players through the boards....that's the Kings, Vegas and Canucks game....
I feel like whenever Skinner lets in a couple early you can always count on him to lock it down after that. People rag on the guy for letting in the first shot sometimes, but his ability to stabilize afterwards so often is really impressive.
The goal was fantastic! What a battle by Draisaitl on the bench with extrem pressure, then McDavid behind the goal playing a fantastic pass to Bouchard and he with a fabulous hard one timer! That could have been a goal for the Stanley cup win! I hope they do it again in game 4, 5, 6 or seven of the finals for the win.
That pass behind the net to Bouchard reminded me of Gretzky - saucer pass so quick you could barely see it, then slides off to the right like a decoy. Just amazing vision.
As a Canucks fan, I wish my team could be more like the Oilers. If you could’ve even called this a rivalry from last year, it’s truly over now. At this point I just hope that a Canadian team wins the cup this year! Gg Oilers

Just to add. I think that each game is cup game for the Oilers this year which is what a Championship team needs to bring to the table each game. Experience has bought this massive depth to the team and they all feed off of it together which is going to make this team hard to beat in the playoffs. I love what Perry is such a good fit for the mentality here and it's great having him aboard.
If your best player by far is the best goal tender but you are getting 4 goals still losing the game, then you know the quality of your opponent! Great comeback win by the oilers!
MacKinnon played better than Blackwood but I agree with your point given EDM were on the second of a back to back and looked very motivated to grab two points (again) at Ball Arena.
Oil looked like they were on the second game of a back-to-back in the first period and Skinner didn’t help things. But, What. A. Freakin. Comeback! Connor is on fire and the NHL should be worried since the Oil have historically been a much better second half team. Tied for first in the Pacific. Go Carolina against Vegas
Proud of the boys tonight, my power went out right at the start of the game, it came on right at the end. I’m glad to have turned my phone back on and saw the boys had won.
Unreal comeback! The Captain gets knocked off balance only to get it to Leon and react quickly to grab it throw it down and it's in the net amazing! Also That passing play to Hyman's failed attempt that immediately led to Leon to Connor behind the net to Bouch for the BOUCH BOMB for some Justice after Nate made him look silly in the first! Poetic Justice and STU Skinner my god some of those saves especially that leg save at the end saved the game for them! Gotta figure out the starts but damn the resilience in this group is very impressive! The Old Oilers would have folded like a tent years ago! What a comeback back to back nights! First time Blackwood has allowed more than 2 goals as well since joining the team.

Skinner was fantastic in the final two periods. Colorado is probably finishing 3rd at best in the Central division. Blackwood had no chance for the 2nd or 3rd goal to be fair. Hyman had a poor game for his standards but I expect that turns around this Saturday in Vancouver. EDM are tied for 1st place in the division and starting Jan 22 after Washington(h), the Oilers have the easiest schedule remaining in the western conference, 2 home games v Utah, still play Buffalo twice, home v Calgary, 3 games v Sharks, 2 games v Ducks, in Chicago, in NY Islanders, in Philly and a couple against Vancouver in the next ten days.
