As an oiler fan, I find it very difficult to dislike the aves, or their coach. It would be great if their captain is able to make it all the way back, would love a WCF between these two teams
Couldn't agree more. You know it's going to be pure hockey when these two play. Last goal wins. Compared to the panthers that dive, hold, take cheap shots and cheat as much as possible.
@auzzy6434 Not as long as Bettman is in charge. It won't happen, basically because he isn't a fan of Canadian teams.. The only way McDavid would win a cup is to leave Edmonton.
That would be AWESOME!!!! It will be a series for the Hockey Fan for sure.. Wear your Depends for sure cause ya ain't gonna want to miss one second...... I am a Black Hawks fan but left the OILERS fold in 2023 when they bowed to the LBTGQ+ alphabet and the Indigenous Terrorist movement..... Maybe one day I will forgive but not now ....
Oilers fan here and both teams are guilty of taking their foot off the gas once they have a lead, both oilers and Avs will face off in WCF, both teams are too good to not go that far
What about credit to the Edmonton Oilers🫡 They just don’t start right from the puck drop ,and the Avs don’t keep the pedal to the metal it seems🫡 lots of hockey to go👊🏽
Another game where the Avs just can't be bothered to show up for an entire game of hockey, going on 8 games of this? But hey, maybe next game they will care enough
Just as an FYI - and all due respect to MacKinnon who's right but not quite there - the Oilers have the best two players in the world in McDavid and Draisaitl and both are playing extremely well right now. It's not the first time this month the Oilers have done this to a team. I realize Av's fans only watch the Avs, I only watch the Oilers for the most part, but this isn't an 'anomaly' here. We came back from 2 to 0 against Minnesota, and shutout the Kings 1 to 0 this past week - we can win pretty much any game right now and Oilers do not get the respect they deserve from other fans (which is weird I think).
@@KptKrunch9481 did u miss the part of 8 games in a row. This isn’t new for the Avs either we either play the first period or the third period and nothing in between. I realize the oilers are good and hot right now, but the Avs also have 2 of the best players in the league right now with Mack and Makar. There is no excuse to get out worked by a team coming off a late back to back, but the Avs just decided to coast after getting up 3-0. It’s rlly frustrating to watch. Respect to the oilers for battling back and not just taking the L on the chin.
@KptKrunch9481 Basically what @ElectricGoat_ said. The Avs get good goaltending and just leave Blackwood with no support in front of him for many games in a row, I meant nothing towards Oilers and all towards the Avs compete/work level
@whypothetical Amd the Avs have been rough against teams on back to backs for a couple of seasons. It happens. Now you know how teams feel when they get smoked by the Avs when the Avs are on a back to back.
Is there something going on with the chemistry? Too many passengers every game. Mikko wants a big contract, but right now, he doesn't deserve one. PP is bad, too much passing, opponents have figured out who is on the ice. Maybe the Avs players need to decide what they want this season. Playoffs or not?
I think the avs biggest issue rn is that they have a $5million 2C who is not only on the 4th line but teetering on a healthy scratch because of how horrible he's been
I don’t think I’ve seen an Avs game in 3 years where I was like hey they have actually played the entire game win or lose. Just pathetic to blow a 3 point lead and could care less
We need to figure out if landy will go or not. Hes not even skating at practice i love the guy and appreciate the patience but i just wanna see my team win man
Not sure what he's actually going through, but on our (Oilers) broadcast they were talking about how hard this guy is working to come back. As a hockey fan I really love Landeskog, always have. Followed him from the draft since day one as we took RNH before you took him. I think it's terrible for the league what happened to Landy and I really hope he can come back. Though I doubt he'll play as well as he did before his injury his leadership will be a welcome addition to the team
Theres a motivational issue, cant let them be comfortable with a lead . they play better with a sense of urgency. Powerplay is absolute trash, get back to basics and quit with the cute plays. crash the net and shoot the puck!

Haven't the Avs had injury issues since, like '95? They fielded a full team like 3 times and won a cup each time they were able to. It's the altitude. Injuries happen more often at higher altitudes. Just the way it is.
It's possibly the altitude. There's a reason that people get put in hyperbolic chambers to help speed healing, as the increased oxygen levels help the body in restoring itself from both minor and major injuries. The thinner air in Denver means reduced natural healing. edit: Hyperbaric, I meant, though it seems my intent was understood even without this correction.
Both teams played great, great chances on both ends if the goalies were not on their games it would have been an 8 7 win for the oilers instead of a 4-3
Ya we actually won a Cup...Toronto hasn't gone further than 3 GAMES AWAY FROM ECF! They've been out of 1st round once-we have 4 times with this core. So while I get the comparison & there is some truth-especially w/o Nichuskin-the Leafs wish they'd accomplished a fraction of what we have in the playoffs. And granted the Avs overall have underachieved in the playoffs on balance. Injuries/suspensions have played a major role but Toronto is a whole different ball game of playoff underachieving.
