Use official Apple CCK. Non-official can work today and tomorrow Apple hits an update and byebye compatibility.

Does midi work straight out of the box with app or do you have to config?
Launchpad is midi itself but not easy to configurate outside the launchpad app itself… search for segments tool from novation. Said that when you use it in junction with launchpad app is automapped.

I was using a setup like this before the pandemic. Ipad + the camera adapter and my old Novation launchpad s. For some reason, i cant use it on an iphone x. You know anything about this bro? Thanks! Nice setup!

It has no latency. If you want to finger drumming put the clips into one shots and that’s it. If you try to figure latency from “quantised launch” you will get confused since it works like Ableton scene launching.
Nice... what about the effects on the app (flanger, stutter, etc)... can they be triggered from the launchpad?... thx
Not sure in X but in olders you have a button to enter into fx launch so first 6 files keep launching clips and the 2 at the bottom control the fx.

I could really use some help. I have an iPad Pro (with USB-C connector) and the Launchpad Mini MK3 (also USB-C). They works fine when directly connected to each other but I tried it with an external USB-C hub which has ports of USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI, and SD card slots. It does have a single USB-C port but it's only for power ..to provide power to the iPad. Anyway, the Launchpad will not connect to the iOS Launchpad app via a USB-C to USB 2.0 cable. I tried it in both the USB 2.0/3.0 hub slots. It does powers up however and runs a light show but simply does not react to inputs when opening and using the Launchpad app. Is there something I'm missing or is there some other app I need for signal routing, or do I need a different hub altogether.?? It's really frustrating! I want to use a hub which has several ports and an audio out put jack so that I can also connect a MIDI keyboard for virtual synth apps and to run the audio out to a mixer to hear or use both the virtual synths and the Launchpad without a bunch of unconnecting / reconnecting. Any help is appreciated. Anyone!?

I’ve just got the apple camera adapter and I’ve tried plugging that into my phone and then the launchpad in but doesn’t work it just keeps flashing

@@numemo the charger for my phone? If so I got the camera adapter which only has the usb slot on it nothing else
@@Xboxkid73 Launchpad require too much energy so you need a powered hub in between. Some models have a low energy mode but not sure about the X. Also the order you plug things matter... so first plug the launchpad (or whatever you want to plug into iOS and it's class compliant) into the hub, then the hub into the CCK adapter and finally the CCK into the iDevice (iPhone, iPad...) that way you avoid system error messages and works everytime.
Couldn't get the LPX connected to any iphone without it CONSTANTLY resetting... until I put a powered usb hub in between. According to Novation, you need one of those in between the LPX, Launchpad Mini MK3, or Launchpad MK2, and your iphone. Which kind of defeats the purpose of portability... dongle/cable/dongle/headphones...
You can use battery powerbank to keep portability but that cable-mesh is there for sure. Docks aren't a solution neither... you will need a customized one...
If you are using the cck3usb powering it with battery (as someone pointed) could do the trick. Also check if your unit has the “low power” option (see in the manual) which is precisely designed for this (but forget to go outdours on sunny day… you will not see colors and the iPhone will get hot until resetting itself…)
How would I connect a launchpad pro to my iPad Pro 5G?
If it has usb-c just straightforward (with proper usb-c to b cable) but a hub is recommended (if not mandatory). Check if launchpad requires low energy setup also (in the manual…)
I have the same cable but it writes that it takes to much power so it doesnt work?
Check my other comments but also the solution is doing things right from Apple POV. That means plugin first the launchpad into the cck and later the cck into the iPad. If you can power the cck with the regular iPad psu and cable even more better. iOS/iPadOS will warn youif the attachment draws more energy than expected (which is low like pendrives or so) so powering everything before plugin the cck i to the iDevices will do the trick. Hope it helps…

Ha, isn’t it ridiculous- to buy the most expensive phone and have to buy and connect all those crazy stuff to make it play. Just use android, those can charge it and having headphones jack;) btw I’m iPhone user but blaming Apple for those steps. They make it just harder and harder for artists and professionals.
