fun fact many people don't realize about moonlight butterfly: if you mid or fat roll the attacks are easier to dodge since the fast roll has that stupid jumping animation it keeps your hitbox above the wall but the other two have you actually roll on the ground the full animation so the wall blocks everything.
Almost 63 here, and I remember when Pong came out. ;) You're one of the good ones, Lemon. Thank you for the content. You and your fans are welcome on my lawn anytime!
When mildred comes off the ladder she is considered falling for a few pixels, so technically she's falling on you thats why your taking like 3 dmg and taking knockback. "FireBomb Academy" an upcoming shirt?
Since nobody uses the weapon, it's not well known that you can actually bonk enemies backwards with the demon's greathammer swing. You can use this instead of kicking (which is real nice since the weapon, as you've noticed, doesn't have a kick).
Demons great axe and the demons great hammer are both overpowered weapons if I am correct the demons great axe is the most powerful weapon in the game while the demons great hammer is just a heavy weapon that has high base damage
With Lemon talking a lot about DND, it does bring a smile to my face knowing that the hobby isn't that dead in the water. I am currently DMing due to the lack of open games and having a blast. Right now DMing two games while working on a special homebrewed campaign. Hardest thing so far is trying to get all the maps and setting it up in Foundry.

As someone who isn't that good at souls games I really like Elden Ring because of how many bosses I can beat, lol. It's much more beginner friendly in that regard. I will admit that I am over 40 hours into Elden Ring and am no where close to end game content. It's nice though that I can traverse a mini dungeon and feel like I accomplished something.
i was lurking off and on, i think lemon forgot to consider grant, the weapon from Leeroy, the invader down by where nito is... unless he tends to fight nito as a hollow
I find it funny when you tell viewers you're older than them. Mostly because I absolutely remember preinternet times. Coming home to a changing bell for dinner and the few Atari games I played before the family got an original, new Nintendo Entertainment System with Duck Hunt and Super Mario Brothers. Still have the game and blaster. Had to get a refurbished my NES, though, when it stopped working right.
oh yeah if you wanna try this in DkS2 there's plenty of way to mod the weapons in, not sure about straight up replacing your held weapon automatically, but you can easily just add all the weapons to your inventory, throw them in the bottomless box, and take them out depending on what chat chooses
no fricking way. i started to watch the video and out of nowhere you are playing music from kingsfield 4. i have been enjoying that ost lately while playing dsr as well. damn perfect
I love how lemon reacted to lit not like a grandpa taking it literally but like a dad being like "oh I know the definition of that word, yeah it is indeed gonna be a good time"
Hmm... Odd idea, but I think it would be fun; The Cosplay run; In any Dark Souls game, you're only allowed to fight a boss wearing a complete (or as complete as possible) cosplay of an enemy available to fight in their area. Example in DS1: Asylum Demon can be fought with the broken straight sword, and otherwise completely naked and only while hollow. That's as of complete a cosplay as you can do of the hollows in the area. Torus demon is largely the same, except you can include hollow soldier gear (though, it has to be a complete set, weapon included. You can't mix and match different kinds of hollows) For the Bell Gargoyles you can include Baldur knights. For Orstein and Smough, it's silver knight armor. This would include various invaders that spawn in the area, so you could, for example, cosplay as Mildred to fight Quelaag. I admit, this will likely result in a few fights where you're mostly naked with a weapon, but I think it would also force you to really try a wide variety of weapons in the same run that don't see a lot of play. If you wanted it to be really tough, you could also say that it has to be a slightly different cosplay each boss.
Sif is also a goddess in Norse mythology, she's the wife of Thor iirc, and I'm pretty sure it's pronounced with a long I sound, much like sift without the t
Lemon, you are my favorite challenge runner. I love your edited run videos, but watching this 3 hour stream has been a fun way to pass time while unemployed
The problem with Mildred is you were standing too close to the ladder, which caused you to take damage as if she were jumping on your head (cue the gordon ramsay FUCKING RAW clip)
It's less that 3.5 was more wargamey, and more that it had a more simulationist philosophy to it. So there was a stronger emphasis on having specific rules even for things that didn't necessarily come up very often, with a lot of granularity. Add into this the fact that the designers really didn't think the math through or how different rules would interact, and you could get some fairly absurd results.
Oh man I just started playing conkers bad fur day again I absolutely love that game. I used to play it with my friends all the time back when I was like 14. We play multiplayer all the time. Glad to see there’s still some of the people that like that game too.
I liked Elden Ring but I definitely don’t think it was 10/10. To many repeat bosses and the exploration was fun at first but after a bit it becomes useless because all the items you get are not valuable. The dungeons get reparative partially due to repeat bosses but also because the designs got boring after a while. I don’t really understand why people think it revolutionized open world as well. It functions exactly like the other souls games and the only open world aspect they changed from most games is no mission markers. That doesn’t mean no quest just no marker like all the other souls games. Like I said I did enjoy the game first time through but didn’t want to replay after like with the previous games.
My man thank you so so so much until now I never knew that gate behind the dragon led to the beginning of the undead parish that saves me so much heartache with those damn rats ty ty so so much

Shame 1 doesn't really have dual wielding. Because that could have been cool when there was 2 options, but you'd just wind up main handing your favourite and ignoring the other one. Maybe if you do one in DS2?
I have devised a challenge that seems so simple on the surface but would definitely drive you nuts... Can you beat the Dark Souls 2 Ascended mod. No weapon Stipulations, No single magic type used, just trying to beat something that is Hell Incarnate...Although for the sake of your sanity I don't recommend it. more enemies that are tankier, bosses are changed to have Adds and some have insane resistances, along with different enemies in areas where they shouldn't be, but weapons, spells and equipment have been changed to balance this. Dark souls 1, 3 and Elden ring also have an ascended mod...actually I think Salt and Sanctuary does too.
I feel like it would be more entertaining if you rolled a die or something like that. Random number generator to choose the item you use. Also the elden ring argument. I can definitely understand where you're coming, I just find it funny that every reason you say you don't like it is all the reasons it's my favorite souls game lol
Interesting that in Elden Ring, I feel like I have a sense of direction because the grace points me in a way, the dungeons are linear, and I enjoy how big it is. I’m going to retry DS, but the first time I played it I felt so lost with no direction at all, I just never understood how to progress forwards lolol
The problem with asking what the best build is, is determining what “best” means. The strongest build to beat the game most easily is objectively a sorcerer, no contest, but is the best build the one that makes the game easiest? Is it the one that’s the easiest to play and get good with? Is it the one with the highest skill ceiling that allows for ridiculous synergies and dps, perhaps at the cost of survivability? Is it the one that’s just the most fun to play?
