Great video and commentary. I've got a 168.018 Omega Constellation with the 564 cal dating from 1969 and I believe it is one of the best movements from a 'Golden Era' and as you say beautiful to look at. I'm particularly impressed with the date change at 12:01. Chapeau👏

Thanks for the video! I have Constellation C-shape with grey linen dial with brick bracelet 168.017 from 1969 that stops running after a couple of hours (even when wearing). When I open it up the rotor wiggles a lot even though the plate and screw that keep the rotor in place are firmly attached. What can cause a wiggly/loose roto? Could an axle have broken?
Something can be broken with the rotor but you need to wind your watch manually by turning the crown 40 times at least. If the watch stop just for two hours the rotor is not the reason.

The reason you're amplitude was a bit low after such an extensive (and well filmed service?) Probably because I noticed your time graph was on default 52 degrees , all omega 500 series calibre are a 49 degrees lift angle, not having this info imported manually will give an incorrect amplitude reading. Thankfully there is a great long list of lift angles available, just Google lift angles. Great video many thanks

17:23 like on other videos, the fact that the part flew away is because the spring was under tension, remove the tension first then the spring and the part. This should be a golden rule.
True that this is a golden rule but it is when you take some confidence and you want to cut some corners that it happen

Sorry my frind but the angle 52 degrees is worng your aplitude is quite low about 220-180 becouse the correct angle for that specific mouvement is 49 degrees so i dont want to be rude but this is only horologery . thanks

Hi, I have the same watch, but currently it has water condensation. So what I did, I just re-lubed the back gasket. And checked the crown if it has a gasket. It doesn't. So I bought a o-ring gasket for this. My question is, have you checked this watch for waterproof? And do you know if the watch that you serviced has a rubber gasket in it?
I don't do a water leak test on this kind of vintage watches. I repalced all the o-ring included the one in the crown
@@FrenchWatchCollector ahh I see! I was hoping to see you have it in the video where you replaced the crown gasket. By the way, I don't see any gasket in my crown. So I believe that's the culprit of where the water seeps in. Also, I've relubed my back gasket, and tried splashing some running water to imitate rain water. But not too long, just for a few seconds. So far, I don't see any condensation yet. But yea, I believe the oring in the crown would really help. Thanks for replying!

Like you, I group parts together during disassembly of the subassemblies of the watch. The problem comes during cleaning, when all the parts are loaded into a smaller number of wire baskets. This often leads to confusion among the screws, some of which are dangerously similar to others. Do you have a method for keeping the parts separated during cleaning, other than running the cleaning process separately for each subassembly? As an aside, your videos are excellent and inspiring!
Thanks for you nice comment. For the small parts I put them in different compartments of the cleaning basket. Like this I keep them as a group. The video as well help to remember where the parts go if I need to look at it during the assembly. I you have a watch with a lot of different screws (like my video on the chrono speedmaster mark III) you can can put back the screws on the movement during disassembly. You are sure that the screw will stay at the right place. Hope this help

I think what you could do to improve is a demagnetization before doing the timing.
But you did a great job anyway.
I always do a demagnetization on my Elma before putting a watch on a timegrapher. I just don’t film this part but I will do next time.

I love the grounded reality of this channel..
