Beautiful work. The constellation case with the dog leg lugs is the best version IMO. I've had my eye on one of these in solid gold for while.

Nice to have you back and thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video on UA-cam: 👍👌👏! Everything on this watch seems to be perfect, except for the dial, which is in bad, bad shape. Dials are about 90% of the value of a watch, so - if possible - I would marry this watch with a dial in nicer condition.

      @FrenchWatchCollector  4 місяці тому +1

Yes I will see for the dial. I hesitated to send it for a restoration

😍 omega constellation ... (full rotor auto movement !!)
it makes me remind this longine conquest calendar (got one with a bumper from same period ... may be older by a decade ?)
😚time to put a transparent backcase on that 561 (keep the original one 🙃)

Great Video and a really nice watch.
I just saw on the video, at 6:53 min, using your timegrapher, that the lift-angle is set for 52 degrees.
According to Omega Service book, this should be 49 degrees (as most of Omega's vintage watches) Just so you can get a better read of the time precision 🙂
    Cheers Jesper

Sur certaines de mes vintages, j'ai mis des pompes fixes. On est obligé de les retirer à la pince en les tordant : c'est beaucoup plus solide, par contre évidemment faut pas changer de bracelet. Super chouette cette montre.

Awesome video. Most beautiful watch. This is the watch worn by Al Pacino in the Godfather right 😍

Gorgeous watch and great service that you done on it. Someday I would like to get a vintage Omega from the 1960’s, is there any particular one that you suggest?

    • @FrenchWatchCollector

There are a lot of different type of omega from this era. From seamaster to constellation and the first speedmaster moon watch. Depends on what you like

@@FrenchWatchCollector I guess all the calibers were good from that time. I was leaning towards the Constellation model.

If you’re interested in something a bit different looking, the first series of the Omega Dynamic are excellent value for money.
If you like the visual appearance and style of the Omega Dynamic, the early models offer excellent movements, as seen in this video and also used in the Seamaster and the Constellation of the same era, but they are considerably less expensive.
The slightly later models of the Dynamic use the 1000 series movements. As stated in this video, these movements aren’t as highly finished as their predecessors, but they are still excellent quality watches.

Omega watch movements from this era were copper plated.
As mentioned in this video, the 1000 series that were made a few years later lacked some of the quality of the movement seen in this video, and they were not copper plated anymore, either.
It is true that the 1000 series movements were less highly finished, and slightly lower grade than their predecessors, but they are still excellent watches of better quality than much of what is being produced today.
