- Hi, in this video I am beginning with the installation of our new storage system in the garage. This is an A-Z video series of an Solar Hybrid-System installation. As always, we are going to take a deep look into earthing concepts of such systems.

I think you will be very happy with that inverter. An excellent Christmas present.
The fast automatic transfer switch has two very whobly mounted PCB's with rectifyer and the switch to switch of the coil short after activation. I will recommend to make a support (glued in resin boards to the housing walls) cause if this cam switch move further away from the notch shaft the coil will burn trough or catch on fire.

Hello Roland. This is Matthew in Australia again. What kind of SPD do you recommend for my 24VDC solar strings (i.e. each string of solar panels is nominal 24V)? The lowest clamping voltage DC SPD I can find is approx 500VDC. My understanding, this is far too much and will run risk of destroying the Inverter Hybrid. I want to install the SPD before the Inverter Hybrid (EPever Upower 24V), at the junction where all my 24VDC solar strings converge into the shared DC non polarized double pole CB. @@RolandW_DIYEnergyandMore Regarding the SPD aliexpress options. Which type should I buy? Should I buy the 24-48VDC type or the 48-70VDC? I am leaning towards the 48-70VDC, since my understanding is the 24-48VDC will clamp Voltages from 24VDC upwards (which would literally cut off the solar panel due to Voc being 43VDC). In other words, the open circuit Voltage of each of my solar strings is 43VDC, which implies I need to use a SPD that has a Uc (clamping Voltage) of minimum 43VDC, therefore the SPD size I should use is 48-70VDC. Does this sound correct with logic? Thanks Roland. I will send you $30 on Monday. Bless you, Matthew.
