Thanks for the education. Are you still available for a solar RV question?

Wow this is confusing to me! but thank you for such a great video!! I’m trying to connect 5 more 100 watt panels to my system with about a 20ft run to the controller. I currently have 1 100 watt panel and I cut the connectors off when I got it and just used butt end connectors with heat shrink to wire it which has been working for 2 years now. I now have 2 12v 200ah batteries, a victron 150v/60a smart controller, and 5 more 100watt solar panels to connect. My inverter is 12v/3000amp. Any advice would be great!!

Does the sequence of the series connections matter? Do the 2 output wires have to come from the first and last panel? Or can we wire them in an order to where the two output wires come from the panels in the middle?

You wouldn't get any solar output that way . Think about it, if you had 4 panels and you connected in the middle, the circuit is broken for each two sets of panels. As far as connecting in series, it wouldn't work. Now if you get a Y-connector to each of the two set of panels and then connect it to your load that would be considered connecting in parallel.

This should help with me constantly melting my cables. I connected 4 to a splitter and the end of the cable keeps melting. Oops

im running a 24 volt controller 100 amp and 24 volt battery. one guy has 3 panels so hes been running 36 volts. i kinda want to try this, i know open woltage with sun is 40 volts now on 2 panels. so that would be 60 volts, i just dont think controller can handle 2400 watts in current
