Well put Joe. Here in Canada, there was a book called "Treat me Like Dirt" describing the the origins and influences of the CDN punk rock/new wave movement of the late 70's and early 80's. And, you guessed it, MTH is cited as being a considerable influence in the country. Good interview.

I have always felt the same way about Mott...they were something special, short-lived but ferocious and such an inspiration for future bands. Ian is the coolest dude ever, still rocking and I have utmost respect for Mick, Overend and Buffin. Personally, don't care about them being in the RRHOF because they are better than that and will continue being our best kept secret. 👍
Absolutely Mott the Hoople! Thee best rock n roll band ever, and influenced scads of bands that are in HOF. Ian Hunter should also get in on his own merits. He's done fantastic work for 50 years, many of them classics. I put him on the same pedestal as John Lennon and Bob Dylan.
You want the real reason Mott the Hoople or Ian isn’t in the hall of fame ? He didn’t make a deal with the devil for fame.. might have changed his name but he saved his soul. How does milli vanilli get in ? What planet am I living on ? Think about what I said.. what other answer could it be ?
