This song still breaks my heart, my son was born almost 3 months premature. He required 6 of his 12 surgeries in the 1st 6 months of his life which he spent in the nicu. When l had to leave him for even just long enough to go home pay bills, wash clothes, important appointments, which was 90 miles away from the hospital this song was my anthem. He turned 18 this year and l still feel the same sense of worry and dread and sadness just as strong as l did in 2002, everytime l hear this song.
Same... But with spaceship and psycho also being in the top 50 of mine ... Sorry top 5 or 10 isn't enough with so much material out there... You really really really ought to listen to Jelly Roll
I love how Alex actually researches the song meaning and ties everything together then goes into his opinion breaks it down for everyone much respect for that brother keep up the good work..
When my ex-wife left and ran off with our daughter this song helped a lot while I was going to court to be able to see her and fight for joint custody.
Yea I think he was trying too hard to emulate Kurt on that awful one. Another reason you should just be yourself. Wes is fine when he's singing like Wes.
idk man, they released She Hates Me in the same album, I liked it when I was an angsty teenager but now it's just laughable. They're a good band when they're putting their heart and soul into their songs, Drift and Die is probably my favourite from them
Best song, I remember a few years ago driving from Lisbon to Barcelona during the night, my 4 friends were sleeping and I was driving, hearing drift and die.. the memories.
Their best song by a mile. That harmonics intro and verse guitar part is iconic, at this point. So good. It's hard to play, and I think they sometimes sample it live, but it's so good.
I saw them in 2002 kind of around their peak-ish...and the bass player actually played the harmonics part on the acoustic and did a great job with it...i agree tho its a bitch to play
Love this song. This is A band that’s A perfect example of right time, right place. It was early 2000’s post grunge. When I think Of this band I think of all others associated with them. Hinder, Saliva, saving Abel, Default, theory of A deadman, three days grace, and of course Nickelback.
Nostalgia hitting hard with this one, and I see in the comments it's that kinda song for a lot of you as well. I was in 4th grade when this song came out, and at the time my home life was pretty unstable. I couldn't fall asleep without my radio playing, and this song was always playing. It was kinda sad but comforting for me.
Im 3 years late but you earned yourself a new follower. I love your enthusiasm and i love that you were interested enough to look into the lyrics. Gonna look u up now
When they first came out he was actually a pretty decent rock singer. I remember him even cover "About a girl" back in the early 2000s in a live performance and he was nailing it but it kinda went downhill with him afterwards... those people judging too much should take a rest, he's been through a lot.
It seems he's gotten back on track now though which is awesome, happy that he's starting to overcome his demons, it's never fun to see someone go through a dark time in their life
man, you can't find any reason to dislike the blurry song.. it's one of their best album,, could be in your playlist.. here in our place i remember weekly it was the #1 song on the radio for 6 months
This song is very relatable, being a father and struggling with the anger and hardships of a relationship when 2 people realize they can't stand one another but have to find common ground because there's a child involved and the children don't ask for this life so as parents it's our responsibility to provide a joyful/safe life which becomes extremely difficult in these situations.. i give a big round of applause for parents that separate and still get along for their children.. . it's F×@king hard
This song never fails to make me tear up. When I was 13, I was suicidal, in a mental ward, and my Mom would play this every time she visited me off a CD player. I've never cried harder than that day, but with her health failing, I understand it fully now.. I just hope she makes it long enough to know what she means to me.
He so needs to check out Alter Bridge...Tremonti is a badass guitarist. So many great songs he could check out...Blackbird, Slip to the Void, Isolation, Open Your Eyes, Broken Wings, etc, etc, etc...
Hey Alex, thank you so much for reacting to my suggestion, and so quickly, too! I'm glad you enjoyed this song so much, and not only that, but you also hit the nail on the head as to why I suggested it in the first place. Everyone has their own struggles and everyone has bad days, and it's all we can do as people to look past surface screw-ups and ugliness to see what's really going on in someone's life. Blurry is a song that means a lot to a lot of people, myself included, and I'm so happy that you enjoyed it too. As far as recommending songs to react to goes, I would like to suggest another Sick Puppies song; you heard You're Going Down already, but that's only one side of the band and a song such as Maybe, Riptide, or All the Same, goes a long way to showing just why that band is as amazing as they are. They're anything but one-note, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on any of those three songs!
It's the kind of song that hits you at a personal level. Been listening to this song since my 10th grade. I'm 32 and I have a toddler son and now this song hits me even harder. I couldn't relate to how he felt for his son back then but I do now and it is very very real with the way Wes has brought out the feelings a father has toward his son.
Suffocate or Cure My Tragedy would be better. Honestly anything from Year of the spider besides stupid girl. Rivers Cuomo (Weezer) wrote that for them just to get them on the radio.
Best reaction I've seen - you delved into the background of the song to understand context and added wise insight. Subscribed and looking forward to more!
Appreciate you using your platform to spread love, the words you said Alex, I say all the time, you never know what someone's going through so be kind. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the day we lost Chester and I Know it sounds crazy to say of someone you don't know but I've never felt like I understood someone so well.. I struggle every day with severe depression and contemplate suicide sometimes and the emotions and mental shit storm that comes with it is something so intimate and struggling with addiction (I struggle with a heroin addiction) is just something that only a select few understand or even try to. The pain is real and it's severe, just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. You never know the pain someone is feeling and you never know how far your small act of kindness can go, or where it can take someone away from. Your videos are a brief moment of relief from the suffering, keep spreading the love ❤️
OMG! This song has always made me cry... My Son is now separated from his partner... They had 2 boys together. This song is now like a punch in the gut taking all my air away. It is tough to breathe and my heart is broken each time I hear it. I think of my Grandson's daily and pray that things will turn out ok for them as they grow. My Son is an amazing Dad. (It doesn't help that my Son looked like this Singer when he had the boys). Pray for them for me if you wouldn't mind. 🥺😢
This video was a lot better than some of the other ones you've been doing lately. I like it when you pause the video and actually talk about what you like and don't like about it. I enjoy you actually digging into it and explaining why you like the song/video rather than just commenting over the music "Wow. Man. Holy shit!"
Just wondering, why didn't we get to see the video? I love this song. It reminds me of how my son's birth father left us and I always wished he had that kind of relationship with him when he was young.💔
I was 10 when this song came out and I loved it then. Today, at 29, it has taken a whole new meaning to me. I now have a 4 year to old girl that my ex wife won't let me see for absolutely no reason at all. And this is so accurate as to how I feel. She took it all away from me and shoved it in my face. Despite that, I do live positively and your daily reminder of "don't let anybody throw shade at you" always puts a smile on my face and I thank you everyday for that and wish you the same :)
Great Reaction Alex!🤘😊 This is one of those songs that bring you back to those days. When it was released. The memories. Def was played out over the radio. "She Hates Me" was also a big hit when the album dropped.
I grew up with Puddle of Mudd on the radio all the time in the 2000s, also not having any idea that it was them until recently. I love the 2000s post-grunge sound.
Massive puddle of mudd fan... seen them so many times. I will say it was so hard to see Wes go downhill. I remember at a concert he was so drunk or high he sat on the platform in front of me (I was front row), and he said “I think I’m gonna throw up”. He was all over the place that night. So sad.
You know bro, the thing that makes a reaction video "not just a reaction video" is the soul. And I think it's pretty important to say things, to spread good thoughts and stimulate people to do their best in times like these. So thank you brother.
Man, this song always hit me hard. My daughter lived with her mom in the next state over, it was only a couple hours away but I couldn't just peak in on her to make sure she was okay every night. I would constantly think about what she was doing and when I dropped her off with her mom or step dad it sucked.

'Blurry' is one of my favourite tunes by them. 🙂
Actually one of my top 5 favorites from the early 00's, up there with "In the End" by Linkin Park and "My Sacrifice" by Creed
That whole album is actually really good.
Same... But with spaceship and psycho also being in the top 50 of mine ... Sorry top 5 or 10 isn't enough with so much material out there... You really really really ought to listen to Jelly Roll

Alex: the singer is great...i think he should do a Nirvana cover 😂💀
The sad part is that they did one back in the day, and it was really good
And even live at the Mississippi's state Fair they did smells like teen spirit and killed the hell out of it
He even said it with a straight face.
Yea I think he was trying too hard to emulate Kurt on that awful one. Another reason you should just be yourself. Wes is fine when he's singing like Wes.
