I can’t tell you how much that means to hear, thank you!!🙏 I’m often unsure at the point of uploading a new video and worry that I’ve missed things out or not quite hit the mark, so reading such wonderful feedback makes my day! Thank you again 😍🪡🧵
Thank you very much! 😍 I guess I’m not short of a fabric or two lol.. 🤣 These log cabin blocks are so versatile - I thought of a few more combos after I’d already finished filming. It’ll be hard to decide what pattern to go for when I start piecing the quilt top. Spoilt for pattern options..! 🫣
I love scrappy, wonky log cabins. I like to leave the non-90-degree angles of my scrap strips to add that lively element to the piecing. All our training as quilters is to be so precise about angles (and everything else) but I do enjoy wonkiness in my quilts. Wonderful tutorial. I love your log cabin blocks.
I completely relate to what you said about the training- it’s so true! I spent weeks on getting flying geese points on a quilt to match perfectly and it nearly drove me up the wall lol.. I do love that kind of neat perfection where it makes sense, but you can’t beat a bit of wonky free styling as an antidote! It’s sooooo liberating and uplifting! I think we’re kindred wonky spirits 🤭🪡🧵 Thanks so much for your lovely comments! Much appreciated..
A very warm welcome and greetings from England all the way to Malaysia 🙋♀️☺️ Thanks so much for watching and for subscribing! So happy for a fellow ‘wonky’ lover to join in the sewing fun! (I have started adding subtitles to my videos and I’ll make sure I’ll be adding Malay to the available translations!)
I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to hear that this has inspired you to get back into sewing! Absolutely wonderful 😍🙌 Thank you for the lovely comments! 🙏 Have fun!!
I learnt how to do the log cabins with the dark/light pattern, I’m sure you know what it is. But I really like the way you did them with random colours. It looks really beautiful. I’m thinking of making a bag or a pouch and join the blocks with crochet… well, you know I like to do crazy things 😂💚🩷🧡❤️🩵💛🤎🤍💜💙
Half light / half dark is another classic version of the log cabin block, I’ve seen some pictures by different quilters of it and it’s amazing how diverse it can look, depending on fabric choices! You always come up with the most amazing ideas!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I love the mixing of the fabrics with crochet sashing (sashing is the term for the bit in between the blocks, usually fabric in a single colour or pattern for the whole quilt top). I’ll be very interested to see how that works if you decide to give it a try! 🥰🙋♀️🪡🧵❤️
Thank you, very kind of you to say 😍 I’ve been collecting fabrics for many years and am very lucky that sewing friends occasionally pass their scraps on to me, too! Some of my favourite fabric brands are Freespirit Fabrics, Dashwood, Moda, Cloud 9 and PBS Fabrics. I’m sure there’s many more in my stash, but these spring to mind.
Yes, I will do - although it will probably be a while since I can't seem to decide which option to go for for the final layout lol.. Too much choice ☺️🤭
Thank you for your lovely comments! I have never done subtitles before, but I will look into how this can be done. I'm still learning about all the editing aspects of making tutorials.. Thanks so much for watching! ☺️🙋♀️😍🙏❤️
I love you view of quilting. Is really diferent.
I’m happy to hear you enjoyed this way of sewing quilt blocks! I’m a little bit obsessed with using scraps, as you can see.. 🤭🙋♀️

@@bluebellhillcrafts Sashing! Well, I learnt a word today 😃 I am making these blocks (dark/light) and I’m sashing them with crochet 😉
😍😍 that sounds wonderful!!! I'm still learning all the quilting terminology, too.. 🤯😁
The pattern goes back more than two hundred years , if you look up egyptian cat mummies, they are often wrapped in a log cabin pattern
Oh WOW!! I did not know that! Thank you very much for sharing 😍!
Off to google and find out more about this.. 🙋♀️☺️
❤❤❤
Thank you 🙏 ☺️
❤️❤️❤️ right back at you 🙋♀️
