But Klitschko admitted himself, that Lennox was not in his prime anymore and only came back to this fight out of retirement. Klitschko was in his prime and should've blasted Lennox due to his physical advantage of being fully trained. This was not an equal fight and Lennox could still demolish Klitschko's face to the extent, that the doctor was afraid, that one more blow might blind him. This was not a clear victory for Vitali as he describes it, coz he was much more injured than his opponent and we don't know exactly, what would've taken place in the coming 2 rounds
Considering LL had not fought for near one year and took this fight on short notice it’s remarkable how he held his own…. The damage on VK eye was dangerous and if continued he could have easily lost his sight through that eye….. Two great HW’s for sure but if there was a rematch LL would come out on top a considerable amout easier.
Klitschko can barely speak here with multiple cuts around one eye with the other eye not looking great. Damage all around his mouth. He was 4 rounds up after 6 rounds and getting badly hurt in rounds 5-6 but still delusional enough to think he was going to win. The doctor saved him from serious injury had the fight continued. He should be thankful he got an out of shape, overweight and unmotivated Lennox......and still lost.
For me, there will always be a question mark over whether a fit Lewis would beat Vitali in a rematch. Some will say that the cuts are a conclusive win. But unless a boxer is prone to cutting, they happen by chance. I love Lewis but he should have gone through with a rematch and then called it a day.
You only need one reason to win a fight. That reason being your opponent being unable to continue because you KO'd them or disabled their ability to continue.
Please. Lennox was the one wobbling multiple times all over the ring. Was cocky after the fight how easily he'd beat him in a rematch and then he bitches out a few months later. If he could beat him so easily, why back out of a rematch which he would've made even more money than the Tyson fight

Lewis`s prime was between 1997 (When he became a WBC champion) and 2001. Klitshcko was a inexperienced fighter in 1997-2001 and not even in his prime. Yes he became a WBO champion in 1999 but still insufficient. Vitali`s prime actually starts wtih battle with Lennox Lewis in 2003 to 2005 (In 2005, He chose retirement) People don`t understand that Vitali and Lewis actually is boxers of different time.
His eye would have been damaged permanently had that fight carried on. Its all very well saying he had a plan and was ahead on points, the stoppage saved his career.
Klitschko was winning this fight on the cards. However. Lewis was landing some good shots. One which created a bad cut. This was a very good stoppage. If he had taken another shot to that eye like the one that caused the cut it could have caused everlasting damage. It’s a shame but Lewis won this fight fair and square. I do believe he retired to avoid the rematch. He knew he was getting older and really had nothing left to prove other than proving he could beat a very dangerous Klitschko in the rematch. Would he have won the rematch? We will never know.
@ziikobon642 Your opinion is mostly conjecture. Big Heavyweights age better, especially those that do not take loads of punishment like Lewis. Besides, he was 37, not 40. He might not have been at the peak of his prime, but still, he was at the end of his prime years. Klitschko was at the beginning if his prime years. It was even in terms of their physicality. Couple that with the valuable experience he had, compared to Klitschko. I'd argue that Lewis at 30 would be a much easier fight for Klitschko... He was not as skilled as he was at 37. He was a skilled, experienced and fit 250 lbs fighter.

@namkaban1204 How is Lewis busting up Vitali irrelevant when that is EXACTLY what caused the fight to be stopped? What a stupid comment. I'm done with you. You have zero argument and make zero sense. Deluded Vitali fan.
It’s Vitalis own fault he should’ve went to work if he had so much in the tank. After Lewis started cracking him with hooks and uppercuts all he did was hang on and stumble all over the place hanging on to Lewis. He showed absolutely no sign of having anything left that factored in to ref stopping it.
I agree, LL looked bad. This is the first time I disagree with him. I love LL, but let us be real. He was outboxed and tired by the time the fight was stopped. And that provocative talk, as if it was easy...declining respect "Do not interrupt me"... I think this kind of behavior is beneath him.
Lennox would have KO'd Vitali if it had of continued. Lennox was hitting Vitali with big shots in the 5th and 6th, and Vitali was close to going down towards the end of round 6.
Lennox was landing BOMB uppercuts at will in that last round. THATS why it was stopped. Vitali was wobbling back to his corner. Smmfh lewis won clearly
Lewis was rusty as fuck in this fight and way past his best. Got totally out hit for 2 rounds and then the juices started to flow and came into it. For me it was an even fight when it was stopped. Vitaly did more work but lewis did more damage and I do feel lewis was starting to control it. Good call for lewis to retire, knowing what we know now. 6 or 12 months on in a second fight and I think vitali would have won it. Great respect. I think lewis knew as well, in the back of his mind, this is the changing of the guard. Preferred vitali to wlad personally, vitali got hit less, better defence
"Lewis was old (37 y.o.)" Yeah, he destroyed Rahman 1 year and a half before this fight, and 1 year before, he destroyed Tyson. He suddenly got old in 11 months :D. In addition, Vitaly continued to fight and win until he was 42 years old.
When was Lewis in his prime? Honestly, Lewis was always used to having a substantial height and reach advantage throughout his whole career. He retired at the perfect time.
Winning against an old, out of shape, ready to retire Lewis who still destroyed a prime young Klitschko. Lennox is a different level. Imagine Lewis 7 years younger!!!
With the biggest weight of he career and one of the worst forms, he defeated Klitschko, who was prepared 5 years younger. Lewis was still better than Klitschko. He delivered brutal uppercuts and inflicted the injury with a blow.

Lewis always enjoyed a height and reach advantage throughout his career until fighting Vitali. Vitali was given B side treatment, same way Fury was given A side treatment against Otto Wallin with an equally bad cut.
His mother said to Lewis: you will never fight that man again.
Vitali was a beast
LL hands down won the post-fight press conference.
Best Fight i have ever seen.
As a Lewis fan i was disappointed that he showed so much disrespect by not giving Vitali the rematch. It was clear that Vitali was the better fighter and Lewis knew it .
Lennox Lewis clearly wasn't in top shape but still manages to pulled it off due to skills and unbelievable experience, if the fight wasn't stopped, vitally probably lost his sight
Lennox Lewis was boxing for years he was at the end of his career vitali was at the start of his career lennox wasn't in Shape he beat him with experience.
You’re not a Lewis fan idk why u 🤡 always do this then u go on to type nothing but garbage about him. Weird behaviour
BYRD WAS APPARENTLY THE ONE ACTUALLY WATCHING FIGHT LMAO😮😂❤
I never seen it where a guy gets his face shredded and his fans think he won. He was deteriorating rapidly. Lennox only had a couple weeks to prepare. Can you imagine if he had more time?
What’s more crazy is rahman and McCall stopped lewis but yet he walked through bombs against vitali
@@Jumpman90 Lewis said on drink champs that he could have def continued the McCall fight. He stood up and did everything the ref asked and he still called it off. He went on to explain that McCall's promoter Don King hosted the event. That means everyone working the event was hired by Don King. From the refs to the judges. Later on that same night Lewis saw King and the judges eating dinner together. He went on to explain that is the way it goes in boxing sometimes. Other than that he had nothing but great things to say about Don King.
@@nbagoats4819 definitely an early stoppage, Lewis always rallied back in the fights he was in trouble like against Bruno and Mercer.
Muhammad Ali
All time greatest
Falsch.
Cuts can always happen
Vitali Kliztschko train 2 weeks for this match. Study
He can barely speak because his english has always been the best. When he speaks in English it's always like that. Don't search for excuses mate 🤣
Are you crazy? English is not his native language. That’s why he speaks so slowly
@@t.f.1345 excuses? He lost the fight...moron.
@GREATFLOODs he's punch drunk dude.
For me, there will always be a question mark over whether a fit Lewis would beat Vitali in a rematch. Some will say that the cuts are a conclusive win. But unless a boxer is prone to cutting, they happen by chance. I love Lewis but he should have gone through with a rematch and then called it a day.
Well a very unfit Lewis did stop him with damage.
A lot of people forget that just before this fight Lennox Lewis was acting a boxing scene with Vitaly's brother for the movie Ocean's Eleven.
That was before the Rahman fight
@@agnikaineverdies7646 Oh yeah. You're right. My bad.
Cut from Vital is the only reason why Lennox won that fight. He was out of shape and old.
37 yaşindaydı
That the only reason needed, it’s boxing. Win by cuts, ko, tko or unanimous decision
@steppernapp1 It's a lucky win. Klitschko looks better in that fight than Lewis before the cut happened.
You only need one reason to win a fight.
That reason being your opponent being unable to continue because you KO'd them or disabled their ability to continue.
@@PaulWK1972 well Vitali was ahead on all scorecards so these boxing rules need to be revised and improved, lewis got lucky that's all
If not the cut vitali Will win
The cuts on klitschko face was because of Headbutt.
He never gave Vitaly the rematch because he knew.
😂😂😂
Bullshit
another comedian.
Damn, this makes me feel so old. 😅
no
Standest du mit Lennox im Ring?
Lewis was more ruthless than anyone in the last 30 years
The stoppage was a win-win: Overweight Lewis got a break, Klitschko kept his eye.
Lennox smashed him on 10 days notice.
Gave the guy a pizza face 🍕🍕🍕
If it went on Vitaly would have been blinded.
Please. Lennox was the one wobbling multiple times all over the ring. Was cocky after the fight how easily he'd beat him in a rematch and then he bitches out a few months later. If he could beat him so easily, why back out of a rematch which he would've made even more money than the Tyson fight
Lennox did THAT to his face WITH GLOVES ON ffs
Lewis wanted no more of Vitali.
The cuts stopped it no question, but they were caused by punches to be fair
Lewis is a true legend!
I met Lennox at a twice as nice event really good guy and I met him jus before he beat evander holyfield in there 2nd fight this fight was so raw two giants of men beating the living shoz out of each other clitz fave was badly beaten but he gave lennox a run for hes money I think it was lennoxs last fight as well
Lennox was better for me in this fight.
Vitali is the man, he looked awkward but he just always dominated and won
He never did give him a rematch.
He was never beaten like this by anybody else, than by Lennox. Having the advantage in age and preparation, he lost severely
I respect Emmanuel for sticking up for Lennox. RIP
but he was talking nonsense
Two bad bad cuts end of fight thats it…..
Lewis was 37. Like Usyk now.
Fact: Vitali win this match
RIP Emanuel Steward
Lewis "i was never wobbled or hurt by Vitali". The majority of the 2nd round he wobbled around the ring like a drunken sailor, lol.
That was an amazing fight.
No words needed. You just see Vitali face & you judge. End of the story. Period.
Vitali Klitschko was winning. Both of them are true greats.
Winning against an old, ready to retire Lewis who still destroyed a prime young Klitschko. Imagine Lewis 7 years younger!!!
Lewis won the last 2 rounds and was gaining momentum.
Did not fight like a tired grandpa, eh !?!?@@ziikobon642
@@TheJoker-yz8dvhe got his arse whooped until he started to fight dirty and gaining an advantage with it. CC Lewis (Cheating Coward). Only diehard Lewis fanboys didn't want to see the rematch.

Lennox was old and still nobody busted up Vitali like he did.
The judges thought the other way
@namkaban1204 The doctor didn't. Judges are irrelevant when you can't make it to the final bell. Irrelevant comment you've made.
@ one more time: the judges thought the other way , it means until the doctor stopped the fight vitali did beat lennox. So “Lennox busted up vitality” is the most stupid and irrelevant comment from smb who based on doctor’s stoppage and not on the way the fight was going on🤦🏻♂️
@namkaban1204 How is Lewis busting up Vitali irrelevant when that is EXACTLY what caused the fight to be stopped?
‘Look at der state of his face!’
Lennox would have KO'd Vitali if it had of continued. Lennox was hitting Vitali with big shots in the 5th and 6th, and Vitali was close to going down towards the end of round 6.
Let's be honest these 2 evenly matched no matter what time in their carear
So cool Lennox gave Vitali the rematch…lol
Vitali fought a load of bums.
Man lennox wasnt even in his prime and destroyed boys face
When was Lewis in his prime? Honestly, Lewis was always used to having a substantial height and reach advantage throughout his whole career. He retired at the perfect time.
@@saulwest8254 I would say his Prime was between 1998 and 2001
i mean, Lennox was literally losing on points. Cut does not represent the flow of the fight well.
@@themagetone4184 Usyk would have outpointed both Lewis and Vitali from this fight. They were both so fatigued.
Lennox busted up many fighters. He just did damage. It’s a legitimate way to win.
Klitschko would of lost his eye if the fight continued
Time has shown that the rematch turned out to be a problem after all, right Lenox ? 😉

Wer hat Vitali so verprügelt? Der großartige Lennox.💪👊
V.Klitshko made Lennox retire 😂!!!
With the biggest weight of he career and one of the worst forms, he defeated Klitschko, who was prepared 5 years younger. Lewis was still better than Klitschko. He delivered brutal uppercuts and inflicted the injury with a blow.
Vitali's team with bunch to of excuses. Great upload man!
