Are you using the fry pan on a Trangia or traditional gas Canister-style burner? A Trangia burner does not burn as hot as the Canister-style burners do. The nonstick surface will continue worsening with the higher heat temperatures. The higher temperatures will dramatically increase the sticking of your foods and add to the peeling/scratching of the nonstick surface. I love Trangia and have several of their kits including their STORMCOOKER series but they oftentimes lag with the current marketplace when it comes to developing upgrades to their product lines. I oftentimes use a metal Trivet on the top of the T25, T27, and T28 before placing my skillets or pots on it. Doing this means that I can use any cookware choices on them, including Cast Iron. Hope this info helps.😊
Yes, your information was very helpful, so thanks for that. Since then, I now use my msr ceramic pot. It seems to meet my needs until something else comes along. Thanks again for taking time out of your busy schedule to past good information on to my viewers.
At 70 years of age, I relate to you the most and your channel is my favorite. As a fellow Alabamian and AU alum, Homemade wanderlust is a solid number 2 favorite. I follow many other channels and I especially enjoy Flatbroke outside and Kyle hates hiking
the reason the notch in the lid is made that way is because trangia used to make a cookset that included this gourmet pan set along with a 2.5 liter pot, with that set the frypan/lid fit on top of the 2.5 liter pot when it was packed up for travel. trangia doesn't change their designs very often, they have been making this frypan since the 1960's.. like you i had been looking for a covered frypan that can double as a cooking pot, i've been using a gsi bugaboo mess kit for many years and really like it. it's about the same size as the trangia frypan, has a removable handle and is basically 2 frypans that fit well together as a lid. came with a plastic bowl and cup but i don't use those, i use something else.
I like the modification. The frypan looks nice but if it doesn't work then time to search for a better one. LOL. Congratulations on the 3K! Ole' Max over at HikeCamp is my go-to channel.
The search continues for the perfect piece. 😁 Nice mod to make this gourmet pan to be more useful for your needs. Congrats on 3K! Many more milestones to come I’m sure 👍 I enjoy watching My Slice of Heaven
Nice alteration on the fry pan. Maybe wrap the handle with tennis racket tape to beef it up. I really enjoy the content on Paul Messner's channel. He's from the U.K. and does a nice job with video and audio. The elements can be harsh there so his gear is top notch. Have a safe trip and looking forward to your videos from the trip.

I really enjoy watching my friend and fellow Virginian Jim Hayes Hiking. I hope y’all check him out if you don’t already watch. That is a nice looking fry pan. It’s a shame they didm’t notch that for the handle. It’s so obvious. At least you could take care of it with the dremel. I agree the handle is also lacking. I like removable handles myself. Its a risk of losing it but they seem to pack better.
Good to see you. Thanks for the new video. Was wondering how you all were doing with this weather. I like to watch shugemery. He makes hammock camping look so comfortable!
It looks like a really good pan, man, you made me so hungry with those noodles in there. Yes, sure isn't all non stick. Good point. Giving it a 8 is good. Your give away is awesome, congratulations on the 3,000! I love a lot of channels but yes, one of my favorite channels is Slone's Wilderness Expeditions. Of course, I LOVE your channel too!
Well I agree with you that the handle needs to be a little bigger. I do read the descriptions in the video's I watch. Congrats on hitting 3000 subs! I like to watch Smell-n-Roses.

The pan will be more nonstick if you turn the heat way down and use oil. Your eggs will taste better, too. Too high a heat will cause eggs to stick. I have to agree with you regarding the handle. I prefer using the gripper that comes with the Trangia or the MSR pans. Like you, I have collected many pots and pans over the years. I find that, for solo trips, I keep coming back to my Trangia 27 kit with a few modifications. Everything packs together, works together, and cooks anything I care to bring.
Thanks for your review. I've got one and I've had it a month now. I've never used it - but I'd say it's a beauty. Except remembering that name pains me. Now it was printed on it - it would not be prettier. And when you cut into to get rid of that sharp edge in your pack -- there was one giant pain in my side. But I hope it worked out good - and I learned something from your pretty little video. 😃
Sorry to report but it was spray on ceramic. I got a hot spot that rendered that pot useless. I've moved on to MSR ceramic 1.3 liter pot and the Sea to Summit 1.2 liter Alpha pot. They seem to be my go to for now. Thanks for taking time out your schedule to make that comment.👌✌
