BEST Orange Chicken Recipe
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 лип 2019
- Thanks to a triple hit of orange, this is the best orange chicken recipe ever! It starts with savory marinated chicken that's fried until it's crisp on the outside and juicy in the center. These are delicious on their own, but then they get tossed in my orange chicken sauce which includes orange juice, fresh orange zest, and marmalade. The combo is sweet, sour and savory with crispy juicy chunks of chicken and a fragrant sauce that's redolent or citrus. #orangechicken #chinesefood

Super recipe. Must try
I hope you enjoy it!
Amazing! Please make a video on how to make the perfect tempura and any variations! And it seems spicy food (and Thai food) is all the rage now, loved your videos on that!
Hi Heidi, thanks for the suggestion. I don't have a tempura recipe yet, but I have one for Kakiagé norecipes.com/kakiage-recipe/ which is a type of tempura. The process is pretty similar (coat the food in flour, make a batter with ice cold water and flour, dip and fry).
Looks very tasty; and I love how the color is turned just like orange color well done man.
Thanks Mohammad!
Thank you the best

So I had a look through your vids and came across this recipe. I haven't had orange chicken in ages, not really a thing in Australia. The wife had never tried this dish, so she followed your recipe and it was FANTASTIC!!!! This is going on the regular menu for us, so a Big Thanks from the both of us. Cheers!
Hi Larry, I'm glad to hear you and your wife enjoyed this! As an expat living in a place that doesn't have orange chicken, I make this at home a lot as well. I also have a recipe recipes for a lot of other Chinese-American favorites on the blog.
@@NoRecipes You have tons of great food ideas, next on our list is your Tonteki recipe. I think we decided to try something new each week. Thanks again!
@@LarrysFishing Good choice! I hope you both enjoy it!
Was about to make a meal plan for the week. This is at the top of my list!! Thanks!!!
Glad I could help 😁

@@NoRecipes thanks sir! I'm doing well. Hope you are too! 😊
This looks way too delicious! I'm going to try it with koyadofu. Thanks for your wonderful recipes, Marc!
Great idea, you can marinate the koyadofu after it's been rehydrated in water or stock. I hope you enjoy it@
"Dangly bits" 😂😂😂
OMG! ORANGE CHCIKEN!!! i miss this! this is an all time top/best seller at panda express! if you do a take out from panda express and you didnt order orange chicken, you are gonna get weird looks. haha!! hopefully i can revisit CA in 2022... first off to Osaka in 2021
Or you could make this at home 😉
very pretty looking deliciousness 😋
Thanks Meg!
Oh lord I've NEVER seen this before 👀
I have to admit, I was counting the oranges, and when you took the pan away at two, I went, "Whaaa...?!"😂 Since I have a citrus grove, and I make my own marmalade, I have to admit I have my own recipe for Orange Chicken. Still, love your video!
I don't know how you survive the cravings for foods you can't get in Japan, especially since you haven't been able to travel home recently. Even when you make a better home version, there's something about the restaurant experience that adds a dimension of enjoyment. (Like, no dishes to wash!)☺
These days, I would reshoot the whole scene (this happened yesterday, and I ended up reshooting the same scene twice🙄). As for cravings, I think the first thing I'm gonna look for when I land in the US is a Taco Bell.... or Panda Express😂
@@NoRecipes Hope you're not disappointed. Both of those places used to be favorites of mine, but they've gone downhill lately. Could just be the ones in my community. Panda Express sells their sauces in grocery stores now. I think Taco Bell was doing that, too. Kinda takes the special off it for me. KFC used to be my only fast food craving left, but I don't even want that anymore. I'm always up for Plate Lunch, though!😁
@@kathcares Hahaha I probably will be. As I get older I'm finding that I don't enjoy the foods of my youth as much anymore. It's especially evident with ramen.... I used to be a die-hard tonkotsu fan with it's unctuous broth, but these days I prefer lighter styles of ramen made with chicken😆 KFC was my once a year guilty pleasure (even after I moved to Japan), but I've stopped going after getting irregular heart-rate alerts on my watch after eating at KFC twice in a row (almost a year apart).
@@NoRecipes Older and wiser. That's scary about KFC! If that happened to me I'd never eat that again!
Good luck in your travels! Hope you discover some wonderful new things!
😊
@@kathcares The first half is work and the second half is family, but I'm looking forward to having some foods I don't get to have here😄
I can now stop pronouncing “Tso’s” like I am a snake. Goodbye General “TUHssssOWsssss” chicken. Hello General Sew’s chicken 👍🏼
If it makes you feel any better, I actually had to look up the correct pronunciation😆
Years ago I went to a Chinese restaurant that was absolutely beautiful and they had the best selection of dishes, it was amazing and absolutely delicious! I tell everyone that I had the best Orange Chicken and it actually tasted like oranges not like the vinegar tasting orange chicken you get at Panda House. I’m going to make this to see if it is like the Orange Chicken I fell in love with.
Hi Cindy, I can't guarantee this is going to taste exactly like the one you had, but I can vouch for the oranginess of sauce. No fake orange or vinegar taste here😉 I hope you enjoy it!
I'm going to try this recipe, but I'm going to use it in the Crock-Pot with chicken legs. What do you think?
HI KG, just to clarify, do you mean you want to skip the frying and just braise the chicken legs? If so, that's a delicious option, but you're going to need to change the ingredients as it's a totally different cooking method. Here's a recipe for how you can do this : www.pbs.org/food/fresh-tastes/orange-spice-braised-pork-belly/ I wrote the recipe, for pork belly, but for chicken legs you can just skip steps 1 & 2, and start from step 3.
@@NoRecipes Thank you so much. My Granny used to make what she called Sweet and Sour Chicken, but she baked it. I'm going to try it in the crock pot.
omg youre too funny. and yes we all know this is not chinese but its so damn good for those with sweet tooth like me lol.
What if you don’t have a Dutch oven?
You can use any heavy bottomed pot. Denser pots retain heat better which is why they are better for frying.
Do you use fresh orange juice or store bought orange juice?
Either works fine. It’s good even with store bought because there’s fresh orange zest in it.
So if ur not fr USA, where r u from?
I'm from all over the world 😆 The list of places I've lived is too long to list here but I've spent the most time in the US and I live in Japan now.
R u a chef by profession?
@@lilyn4982 😄Another long story, but yes, I work as a private chef.
Ok, cool.. tnx for answering!
✨🐔🍊🍊🍊🍊😍👌✨
😆👍🏽🙏🏼
I've already tried this but i think you should add 2 to 3 tbsp of honey... or maybe the marmalade that I use was not that sweet...
The trick to making this work is to use a really cheap marmalade (mostly sugar and very little orange) . Something like this: amzn.to/2Z2dEbv If there's a lot of orange skin in it, it will be too bitter and not sweet enough.
This is an issue , I am going to gain weight rapidly 😂😂❤
😆 I feel you!
😂Not from this type of healthy Cuisine✌.
I prefer my orange chicken a bit crispy n crunchy
Hi Grace, to keep the chicken more crispy just pour the sauce over the chicken rather than putting the chicken in the sauce.
