Fishing from a Pristine White Sand Beach SANDBAR - Ladyfish Burgers!

- This huge pristine white sand beach sandbar hasn't always been here. The topography at Huguenot/Ft. George Inlet is constantly changing due to the natural forces nature. I've noticed it while driving by maybe for a 2-3 years now. So on this episode, I actually hop on the kayak and pay a little visit to this sandbar. Main objective was to catch Pompano and/or whiting. That didn't go as planned but I did get into plenty of other action. Hope you guys enjoy! Don't forgot to watch to the end and see what I cook with my catch. Thanks for the visiting the channel!🤙

Late 90s early 2000 I was nailing Black Drum on The in coming tide. The south parking lot, little talbot island SP, was accessible and wasn’t in danger of beach erosion. Early 90s there was even a pier at that location. Wife and I got tired of jet skiers running back-and-forth trying to cut our lines running over our bait sets
Wow, never knew there was a pier there. Unfortunately, jet skiers still there ignoring the no wake signs as usual lol
That was a great day!!!! You got on, Them pretty good!!!!! Keep the 🔥🔥🔥 Coming my guy!!!!!
Thank you! Pretty decent action. Just wish I landed a couple of those drag pullers off the kayak😅
Nice vid Trong! Nothing more frustrating than losing fish. Nice catches though!
Thanks bro! Still a fun day. Just wish i caught a pompano lol
What an exciting video! Thanks for sharing 🎉
Thanks brother! Wish I wouldn’t have lost so many fish though😅
You made fish patties and didn't bring any over?!? I only live 45 seconds away 🤣
lol had too many mouths to feed😓😂
Heartbreaking 💔
I lost a nice flounder this past weekend. Feeling your pain!
Haha losing a nice flounder is prob most painful. Sheepshead would be next lol
@@VISUAL-LY 💯 % lol
Man, I think we all hate to lose fish that are hooked and almost in the yak - but still a pretty good day with lot's of good tugs.
That was rough from the kayak… batting 1/5🤦♂️😩lol
Nice video. I just moved to Northeast Fl and am looking for spots to fish. This looks like a nice spot.
Thank you! Very cool spot. I’m sure the fishing could’ve been better too. Loved having the place to myself though. Hope you get the chance to go explore!
I catch all kinds of stuff there. Went a few weeks ago and went home with 2 decent founders and some jacks. Earlier this year, I got some good-sized trouts and an absolute beast of a pompano.
Hell yeah! Killing it out there!💪 I’m gonna keep trying until I can catch my 2nd pomp ever lol
What are you using as bait for Pompano? I hear the best thing is San flees
@ds9109 i usually just use a 3/8 jig head with either the gulp minnow or a gulp shrimp at peak tide or peak low tide in the deepest holes i can find. At alimacani the deepest spot seems to be under the bridge or if ypu go under the bridge and go right and follow the little canal along the oyster bar. But the gulp minnows seem to always catch them.
Tough day Trong, but anytime you can spend the day fishing and not get skunked is a good day. Those pompano can be elusive. I've never caught one, so you're ahead of me..
Yessir💯! And i don’t mind the ladyfish at all lol. Wanna plan the faver dykes trip soon?
The first right turn after hugenot, there’s the boat ramp, that rock area I caught pompano off dead shrimp
I know exactly where you’re talking about. They must run through that channel out there
Was out there today. Been taking my little stumpknocker to that very sandbar for a couple years now. I've had a lot of luck with both pompano and whiting on shrimp and fish bites in 2022 and 2023. This year so far I've been striking out. I have noticed an increase in recreational activity that disturbs the water (and peace). You almost have to go on a weekday.
That place can be a zoo, especially summer weekends. I avoid at all cost😅
thanks for the videos. Love your channel. Keep it up hope I run in to you one of these days.
Appreciate the support!🤙
Looks like an amazing day on the water! Was just down there fishing the other day in that area we tore the redfish up. Never tried huogonot tho. That sandbar is real pretty too.
Heck yeah man! Reds seem to be all over the place lately. I’m ready for that good flounder bite!
That's a cool spot to explore, the landscape is forever changing. Sucks to lose a red at the boat, but nice to catch another to make up for it. Fish were really shaking the hook that day huh. Ladyfish cakes looking fiya! 🔥
Dude…. They’re so good!! You guys have ladyfish over there?
@@VISUAL-LYwe do but hard to find them big enough to eat, at least all the ones I caught.
@LaYakFishing wow, they’re so plentiful here
Those were heartbreakers man! We need to go out and do some pomp fishing off the beach. One of my goals is to catch some on the kayak this year
My buddy caught a nice pomp yesterday from the same sandbar so they’re there! I prob need to change up my setup/rig/baits. Might have to eventually get a surf rod lol. But yeah, from the kayak would be super cool!
@@VISUAL-LY I went last week on the beach in south Ponte Vedra. We caught a ton of shorts and one keeper. Bunch of other stuff too
@@joeyfitzpatrickfishing awesome! Let me know when you’d like to do a FL west coast trip!
@@VISUAL-LY will do. Got some good spots over there
That’s the same spot where me and rich share a beach towel and just stare at the water
So that’s why Rich stopped fishing with me…..🤣😭
Beach fishing, a Hey Skipper collab soon. Lol
😂I can’t get into this beach fishing stuff! But I’d collab lol
@@VISUAL-LY Dude, find a good high tide, close to the beach, tide pool. Can catch 30+ inch reds and pompano. It is fun.
@@pbm9cje2n I’ll try and find something like that. Thanks!
I'm no pro but I've caught a few pomps. I recommend a high low rig with colorful floats or beads. Also tip the sand flea with a small fishbite.
Thanks for the advice! I might have to break down and get a proper setup for beach fishing along with the right rigs
You can honestly get a cheap set up and do just as good. Something that can throw a few ounces of weight and you're good to go
@@IvoHarrisIII cool, gonna check Amazon for a cheap surf rod. I have an old Penn reel I a throw in it. Thanks!
I see there is still not much action in that channel. Wasn't so years ago!
What changed? The water flow/direction?
I was just there today, pretty quite. I thought it start picking up by now
@@user-hm4ft2xl8f hmmm, from multiple comments sounds like things have changed out there
Lady fish cakes 🔥🔥🔥 it’s an Asian thing!

I have caught flounders in this spot, there wasn’t many of them.
Ahhh ok, so they do go in there. Maybe certain times of year they’re more plentiful in there?
Where did u get the sand fleas from?
Browns creek bait shop
Thanks
I wished that area on Thursday and nothing. Tuesday it was ladyfish on spoons.
Do you know if Pomps can be caught there? Ladyfish seem to be plentiful all the time
@@VISUAL-LY I talked to another guy Thursday who was targeting them with no luck. I was having problems finding fleas so no pomps for me either. Normally this time of the year the pomps are few. At least for me.
I went like a month ago and got nothing
That entire has changed since the formation of the new sandbars
